The showdown that "Should have been"

Cyclops said:
Please. The showdown that SHOULD have been was Colossus vs. Juggernaut. Halle vs. Carrie wouldn't have even come close to that.

I'm still waiting to hear explanation on why that didn't happen.

And I also would've liked to have seen some Angel/Psylocke interaction in the end battle...

Why? That was a, to use this site's catchphrase, a PINO to the sharpest degree. What the cinematic Psylocke had in common with any other incarnation of the character I have no damn clue.

2 months of location time for the actress, 2 weeks of filming, and 60 seconds of footage that made it into the final cut. What a ripoff

I would've liked the idea of seeing a reference to their history together.

Oh well. If only we had actual X-Men fans writing the movie.

Psht. I'd have rather they cut her entirely. She's not Psylocke. What's the point in having her in the movie then?

The writers tried to make it look as though they were fans by adding in Psylocke, and some obscure characters (Anole) that only true fans could know. Of course that backfired.

Then they mixed up everyone's powers or made up new ones from scratch. Thinking we wouldn't notice :)

What annoyed me is when Kid Porcupine stepped into the meeting all fat. It looked like we'd get the Blob, which would have been cool, but instead we got.... well, you know what we got.

Well THERE's a useless mutation if I ever saw one! What would he lose by taking the Cure? Except for maybe 150 pounds? :D

But is adding in Phat any more 'offensive' than adding in the mutant running across the pond in X1, the kid changing TV channels in X2 (whom they reprised in X3), the superspeedster on the basketball court in X1, the girl in the classroom with big hair, the kid with the blue tongue in X2... They were just there to show other mutants, and they were totally made-up characters who weren't in the comics at all.

Surely it's better to show some who are in the comics? Jeez, you are so bitter, you'd better watch it doesn't make you physically ill, your insides are eating themselves up with bitterness...

^The Stepford Cuckoos also appear, no? In the hallway... Now I don't remember
Nah, I like this mutant powers experimentation. Surprises and they enrich the movie.

This thread is interesting...............

gah. im not reading all of this...the person who needs a kick in the pants is Javon. why on the hype did u have to make another Phoenix vs Storm thread? LS is gonna close it anyway. I hope. im sick of fighting to no end.
Hold up. Who the hell said this was a damn versus thread? Nobody. You don't have to say anything and I'm sure not forcing you here so you don't HAVE to say anything. This thread is supose to be the reason why Jean and Storm should have fought. So next time instead of jumping to conclusions and thinking sokebody cares if your on here babbling about a pathetic, usless, overrated character, think again.

And JEAN is by far the Most Powerful Mutant EVER!
I'm sorry, was this ever stated? I must have missed something.

She can lift a jet
So what?
keep nightcrawler in his place
So what?
hold back a gallon of water
So what?
and have a one way conversation through the Professor
Yeah, okay?
...she even destroyed that one missle with her freaking mind.
Yeah, and I wonder what happened tro the other one. Oh yeah, she was too weak and couldn't control the other one so that ended up blowing into their plane then Magneto had to save them. Again, whats your point?
Anyway...
Yeah, okay.

First off, this wass not meant to be a verus thread. Some dumbass just turned it into it for no reason. Whats his name "Chester" right? Anywho, what people fell to realize is that Phoenix has always and will be a overrated character in the comics and the movies. You also fell to realize that a molecule is so tiny, it's invisible to the naked eye. How could she be 10 feet away and rip a molecule she can't even see? Mind telling me that? Because she is overrated and they exaggerate her powers when they have nothing else to do with her. You don't know what the hell Storm can do. You keep basing you opinions on stuff from a comic but you failed to say that with a snap of a finger, Storm caused a thunder storm. Or that she gathered the energy of millions of suns, stars. and planets. Or that she has created a pressure dome to block fallijg debris and broke threw that mountain while carring Iceman, and two other people that aren't important to me right now. Storm did not get to show what she is capable, however, Jean DID. She was free right there and did whatever she could. Thats that. Ntcralwerr thank for holding thread down. I feel sorry that you had to take crap form these people. And who was that that said he under-estimated Jeans power? OMG! Ya'll are the ones who do that to Storm...ALL the time.

Another gripe thread.
And you didn't have to come. You could have easily stayed your ass somehwere else and hated on Storm.

I can hate on Storm when people are hating on Jean. She would win anyways and this thread has already existed.

Nah, we're doing just fine. It's your blood pressure that seems to be on the rise. No wonder you have to reply to everything that people write, to add only for the sake of argument. Don't fall into valium valley now :D

jean is my favorite charatcer. Her character has powers which have specific limits, which you fail to recognize in your fanboyish fantasies. I am politely reminding you of those limits, as well as of Storm's underutilized potential.

And for the record, it is YOU who are insulting my Jean. You fantasize and overexemplify to an unfair level her powers butmost importantly her dark side, and do not pay an ounce of attention to her REAL powers and abilities, which are her 1) compassion, 2) love, 3) strength of will, and 4) humanity. You have a ghoulish fascination with death and destruction, and aren't interested in the human factors or the emotional side to the story and her story at all. You're turning her from the good person that she is, the tormented, troubled soul that had to face an incredible conflict, into the Evil Phoenix Monster with l33t Demolecularizing Force Field Powers. I'm the one trying to show her as who she truly is. A woman.

In a no-holds-barred duel, it would be a spectacular, drawn out battle between two incredible goddesses. You're welcome to cheer for your favorite side. I on the other hand would try to split them up if I were you before too many bystanders get hurt from falling debree. You've seen Jean when she's really mad. You have not seen Storm when she's truly mad. You and your version of Jean should consider yourselves very, very lucky. Case closed.

To imply Jean has a limit and Storm does not is just ridiculous.

Geez... what's up with all the hate on these boards lately? If some of you could only swollow up a part of your egos (don't choke now...) Hype would be a much more pleasant place. Not liking something doesn't mean you have to trash an author of what you dispise, you know. Remember, these boards are made for users to state THEIR opinions, not YOUR (the only right one) opinion.

I don't state names, but I hope the guys I'm addressing now will get the point. A little less ego. A little more tolerance, empathy and understanding.

Peace.

Nothing wrong with my blood pressure. :)

But I simply can't let this forum sink under this concerted campaign of hate.. After all, we wouldn't want it like the SR forums, would we? :p

And you never responded to the point I had raised...

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying it felt deceptive to me. Blob was one of the bad guys I've wanted to see in the franchise since day one. And it looked like Blob was gonna be in this movie then he turned out to be Porcupine-Boy. Felt deceptive.

Oh, and you know the MAJOR difference between Porcupine-Boy and those examples you mentioned? They were merely background characters. Porcupine-Boy was one of the main members of the Brotherhood. HUGE difference.

Nice try, though.

I don't get what you are complaining about. We quite clearly saw a fat guy turning thin, which is an attribute of Phat, not of Blob. Blob doesn't alter his body shape like that. There was never any indication that Blob would be in X3.

The final fight should have been Scott & Jean, and Jean should have killed herself. That's the heart of the Dark Phoenix story. That's what's so powerful.

The X-Men first are trying to save Jean, but realize they have to kill her. Switching back and forth from Jean to Dark Phoenix, she begs them to kill her, but they can't. Logan won't do it, Peter pulls his punch. Scott can't do it.
The good part of Jean unable to forgive herself what she has done and knowing she's too dangerous and end up killing herself, so her friends don't have to do it.

I don't know how to make this much plainer. When I saw the fat guy, my first instinct was "Hey that's Blob!" When I saw him get thin, I was disappointed.

Now do you understand?
