Yes! you've summed it up better than I could tiredly blabber on about lol. Its what I meant about feeling that sense of victory. Win after win for me with each passing scene in the movie. It made me rather emotional!

I do feel like its is back on track, and I've loved this series since the beginning so to see this movie and the credits scene is just a real win. I can't even hold my excitement for DOFP. I already know how great that movie will be with Bryan back. The wait will be killer!

The way the audience just responded to that credits scene was amazing...it's like one cheer went up, then another cheer went up, and then another when it was over. DOFP can not come here soon enough!!!

So the X-ladies (Mariko, Yukio, and Jean) are all portrayed really well, is that correct? If so, that is fantastic (X-women are more interesting then the men most of the time).

Famke is absolutely beautiful in this  I Loved her.

All three women looked beautiful in the trailers to me. Is Jean in the movie a decent amount or is it a cameo?

I will say that I was surprised by how much of it she is in, and the scenes she does have are really touching honestly. IMO.

Lets just say this movie does a much better job of what X3 was suppose to friggin do in terms of their (Logan & Jean) relationship.

Very well. Amazing, considering this is a first movie for Yukio and Mariko.

A decent amount.

Thanks, you both have made me very excited (X-Force can redeem Psylocke for me now).

Haha, so I've been sitting in the train for over an hour, reading all the Wolverine news on my phone, basically going crazy with excitement so I'm twitching in my seat.. when suddenly I look up, and see this:

I look around me and.. Wolverine is EVERYWHERE. Turns out the Dutch Metro has Wolverine printed all over their front and back cover today!

I still personally love that image of wolvie on his knees, Its a cool pic! Even though it doesn't really represent the movie as perfectly as the painting promos.

The one where he's holding the sword is the wallpaper on my phone.

I'm seeing it tomorrow...I'm super excited..

The last week before release is usually full of news, spots and everything (man of steel for instance), and with Wolvie is very quiet..no more tv spots and stuff

For those whove seen it,
Does Shingen fight Logan in the film, and if so , hand to hand or Swordfight?
Thanks again

You can see in multiple trailers that Shingen and Logan fight.

Wonder why his claws dont go right through the sword... Also does Wolverine somehow remember WWII?

I figured this would happen to viper :( , but they did have good things to say about Silver Samurai, though he too is drastically different

From Cinema Blend : http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Wolverine-Crash-Course-5-Comic-Book-Facts-You-Need-Know-38694-p3.html
Here’s where things start falling off the rails. Because the Silver Samurai once worked as the bodyguard for the mutant Viper, Mangold forces a new version of the character into his film. She doesn’t belong in this Wolverine story, and barely fits into the movie. The original Viper was a member of HYDRA, an antagonist of The Avengers, and a one-time member of the Hellfire Club. As a character, she has deep Marvel roots, but including her here is wildly unnecessary, and a distraction from the themes and conflicts inherent to Claremont and Miller’s books. Maybe she’ll appeal to movie audiences who need to see freaky mutants doing strange things in X-Men movies. To me, she was a burden that damaged the impact of The Wolverine, as a whole.

Oh, Cinema Blend can just chill out...

-Yes, they fight.

-See the movie and find out.

The audience applauded it, so take that as you will.

The Cinema Blend review thing is pretty confused.

They say Silver Samurai:

appears in The Wolverine despite the fact he isn’t in the pages of the Claremont-Miller books. (Samurai does appear in Uncanny X-Men books that continue the Logan-Mariko plot, so it’s fair game for Mangold to draw on him as a character.

but say Viper:

doesn’t belong in this Wolverine story... including her here is wildly unnecessary, and a distraction from the themes and conflicts inherent to Claremont and Miller’s books.

Even though she's in the very same Uncanny X-Men books they reference SS being in :whatever: . Whether they like what Mangold did with her not, if SS is "fair game" then so is she.

YAY to unrated cut, BOO to it probably being Blu Ray exclusive. I might finally have to upgrade when this comes out.

Seeing the midnight showing tonight. Probably in IMAX too. Can't wait.

Yes, I had the same kind of idea years ago, I pitched it here on the boards but nobody was really into it. Id like to do a recut, with most of the deleted and alternate scenes put in (extended phoenix destruction, Wolverine being pessimistic about iceman and the kids coming with them, More fighting etc)

Im not sure if we could accomplish this in blu ray format or what. I couldn't find anyone interested in editing it with me lol. Im not very good on the technical side of things because i don't have the equipment!

To be honest I was probably one of the people not too keen on it. I don't think any editing could make it "good" with the footage we have, but now we have Wolverine and later DOFP I'm more content to settle for "acceptable" if it bridges the gaps.

The bits you mentioned would certainly go in, and I'd trim around Xavier walking in the flashback. I'd also try to move Xavier's funeral toward the end to give a more satisfactory close to the film, and keep the pace up after his death. Depending on Rogue's material in DOFP I'd like to have her not take the cure too.

I have editing software that could do this in DVD quality at least but as of last week I have no computer that could run it :( I'll have to sit on the idea for a while, but if you wanna chat about ideas I'm all for it.

I've done the recut! I've got it as a file. I put the original Wolverine vs X-kids speech intercut with Beast's Shakespeare quote. All the alternate fighting, the alt Jean w/ Magneto's camp, the Xavier monologue, Wolverine returning to Canada at the end without the staring out of the X-mansion ending. I have two versions, one with Rogue taking the cure, one without. Depending if DOFP references it will depend on which version I will keep.

I also have a third version where after Xavier and Magneto visit young Jean, it cuts a scene from XMO: Wolverine where he's in Nigeria and with the young Storm cameo. Then it goes into Angel's scene...

I was also trying to cut around Xavier walking at the start but I'm not quite sure how to do it right...
