Age of Ultron The Steve Rogers/Captain America Thread - Part 2

yeah, and Chris/Hayley doing the twitter talk and the fanart posting etc, is not helping for any other relationship for Steve.

No it doesn't, does it? It's almost as though there is a deliberate intent to ... prevent this from happening ... in the MCU.

With how much he still communicates with Hayley, it's no wonder why people can't see him be with anyone else on-screen.

Not just that, but the on-going presence of Peggy/Agent Carter in movies and on TV (and, it is my humble opinion that Agent Carter is way better than AoS and why Hayley Attwell doesn't work more in movies on this side of the pond is beyond me...) She's a great character and the brief moment the shared dancing in Steve's hallucination telegraphed pure bliss.

I never even knew that these two communicated like this before today, and long before that, I was already finding it difficult for a woman to be good enough for Cap. Or, at least not Sharon or Natasha. I'm more welcoming of a possible Wanda, Sif or maaaayyyyybbbeeee Maria Hill.

Excactly. Not Sharon. Or Natasha. (Seriously, Cap is a man and obviously would be attracted to either, but a relationship with either one of those professional liars spies? Can't see it, won't buy it. Never mind what the comic books and cartoons perpetrate.)

(Ok, in all fairness to Sharon Carter fans, I realize that she has a comic book cannon history with Steve and does her job well, and is presumably a badass heroine, etc.)

That is a fantastic piece or art. :)

Fabulous!

Topic: I liked Cap in AoU. :woot:

pft, that don't mean anything. In the comics, Pepper Potts was married to Happy, and it's obvious that despite the director playing Happy, he decided to cut that out completely in the movie universe.

I'm OK with a dual-reality Cap where when he's "awake" he's Cap doing avenging and soldiering and when he's "asleep" he's living his post-war life with Peggy. I know it's hardly an original idea, but I can't deal with time travel.

I'm actually dreading the introduction of the time gem.

I'd only be happy with time travel in a scene exactly like in AEMH where Kang comes back to conquer the planet to stop the Kree-Skrull war. But no timeline alteration things going on where people travel to and back in different alternates. Hate that.

Hayley Atwell at Emerald City Comic-Con talking about touching Steve after his transformation in TFA. No wonder people still prefer them together over anyone else.

Just checked TUMBLR that tweet that Chris and Hayley tweeted it has reached 21,207 notes that's really something, someone said on another forum they feel sorry for the person who ends up with Steve, and they feel sorry for Peggy's husband.

The set pictures for Civil War show Steve at a funeral with Sharon in London. There I surmise that it probably the funeral of Peggy Carter.

Great article on the evolution of Cap's costume in the films.

Can you post a poll on favorite Cap suit?

I love this Young Justice-style drawing of Cap's AoU suit. It was the best one yet, and I'm glad it's not changing much.

I never noticed the suit he wore at the end of WS was not the same exact suit from TFA until seeing them side by side like that.

One thing I loved about the Avengers was Cap providing strategy of attack for the whole team. I was hoping this would appear in AoU. Alas, it did not. The first Avengers worked so well because it strongly highlighted the differences in each member of the team. I felt like this time around that was thrown out, the team was much more homogenized this time around.

When Evans walks around as Cap in this movie like an uncomfortable caricature of a superhero with the way he carries his arms around like they're too big to rest at his side ... it makes me crack up.
