Seems like a valid point to me. Does Alpha become meaningless next to Sp-Ock?

That cliffhanger. I honestly don't know what's gonna happen.

SpOck says he doesn't care about all the people that could die from Vulture, or Jameson getting killed by Scorpion. He's just jonesing for Smythe-shishkabob.

Since all of the Upgrades are controlled by Smythe, I assume he's going after Smythe and once he's defeated/killed, Scorpion, Boomerang and Vulture will automatically lose their Upgrades...

People are actually reading Alpha?

Aloha,
Alpha fits into Superior Spider-Man continuity, that's the main reason I checked it out. SpOck gave him back his powers as part of his Master Plan.I'm not a big fan but I know he will turn up again.I give his mini series a C+!
Spidey rules

Just finished reading issue 13. It seems that SpOck is indeed preparing for War. Can't wait till the next issue.

A turn? It's been pretty great the whole time. Whether you like the idea of Ock in Spidey's body or not, the execution of this idea has been fantastic.

Finally Slott found his niche. I hated Brand New Day and I disliked Slott's take on Peter Parker because he wrote him as immature and kinda hipster-ish. But I'm man enough to admit that Superior, besides a couple of shaky early issues, has been a fantastic run. I'm officially picking up Spidey monthly again after many years and I'm dreading the inevitable return of man-child Parker.

I subscribed to Superior several months ago and every time the new issue comes out I finally receive the previous one...hurry up Marvel! Currently its the only comic I'm reading, my money is so low right now I could no longer afford the 10+ other titles I was reading. Like Scarlet Spider and Venom. :(

Oh no, I've been reading this series from the beginning and it's been plain excellent the whole way through, it's just that this particular arc is REALLY great, you know? That's what I really meant.

I'm looking forward to the Superior/Black Cat story in October. I totally forgot about her.

And yes, since Dying Wish, it has been a very fun ride. I still want Peter back one day once all the opportunities with Ock have been exhausted.

Me, too!

Heck, I think it's been a fun ride since Slott tool over with Big Time! But, yes, obviously I want Pete back eventually.

In the meantime, I look forward to seeing Spidey with his minions! :woot:

Finally read yesterday's issue. Fantastic stuff.

I think what excites me most about Superior is to see what comes after. Once Pete is inevitably back in the red and blues, how is he going to react? Ock is doing just as much good stuff as he is bad. Even the bad stuff, the killing, seems to be fairly justified.

This is a good time for the Spidey books.

Did anybody read Superior Foes? That came out this week, right?

Maybe I'll give it a try, then. The premise didn't really interest me, but execution is always more important anyway.

I hope this doesn't make me sound like a rich snob (I'm certainly not), but I never understand when someone says they don't have an extra $3 a month to spend on a comic. Really, is that three bucks going to break the bank? Venom used to be great, but it's kinda sucking recently. If you have to choose between the two I'd go with Scarlet Spider.

Issue 13 was fantastic. Octo-Spidey "owns" Jonah now. Love it. Really love how he turned the tables on Jonah like that. I am uber excited for what ever he's planning next now he's
got The Raft as a base and he's gathering minions. Sounds like the Superior Spider-Man version of The Master Planner story.

Oh and
chalk up another murder for Octo-Spidey. R.I.P. Smythe

I didn't think about the [BLACKOUT]Master Planner angle.[/BLACKOUT] That's a pretty neat comparison.

And I don't think I would call
what Ock did to Smythe murder. He was sentenced to die anyway, all OctoSpidey did was make sure he got what should have happened to him anyway.
That was an interesting position that I would've loved to see Peter in.

Yeah but he stabbed Smythe in the chest in hopes of killing him. Just because it didn't initially do the trick doesn't mean it wasn't any less premeditated at the time.

It certainly was [BLACKOUT]murder![/BLACKOUT] You can't just [BLACKOUT]brutally kill someone and claim they were due for state-sanctioned capital punishment anyway.[/BLACKOUT] It wasn't Spidey's right to do that and it was unwarranted and illegal. The REAL Spidey would have found another way. Not that I'm complaining. I quite enjoy seeing SpOck vent his blood-lust.

I wonder. If Peter were to return do any of you think he might keep some of Sp-Ock's tech handy and use it? I mean for one you'd think he'd appreciate that some of the extra gadgets might be handy and it would seem a bit of a step back if Peter simply went back to being the same old Spider-man like nothing happened.

Depends on the Writer.
Pete used Ben's Impact Webbing. But only some Writers utilized that aspect.

Scarlet Spider is fantastic, but I think I'm okay with getting it in trade form now. I don't mind being a little behind anymore. It wouldn't be too much of a hindrance to add one or two more comics, I was getting about 15 a month before and sometimes more. There is just alot of other things I'd like to purchase in other media that my comic addiction wasn't allowing to happen lol. I love trades and think it might be better to get those, for me at least.

This is just for now, I'm a poor college student lol.

I hope they keep the tech. The only thing Pete is coming back to is a doctorate. His life as Spider-Man is going to be in ruins. No superhero in the world is going to trust him. It will be like the 70's again but 50 times worse. At least back then, SOME of the heroes would vouch for him when push came to shove.

I get the feeling that might be part of Slott's plan. He made everything good for Pete during Big Time. Everything was going well, great job, no money problems, respected member of the Avengers. Now, thanks to Ock's actions, when Pete returns to the mantle, he'll be back, as you say, to those 70's days, particularly right after the deaths of Gwen & Norman.
