I can't wait I really been enjoying the superior spider-man.

Well... lots of stuff did happen in issue #20... :wow:

:yay:

Its official I now hate Spoc for what he did
I was really enjoying the series up until issue 20

As soon as I saw OctoPete's
Professor, I knew what was going to happen.
Though I wonder if he will reveal himself to his Professor before he does anything to him.

I thought it was actually pretty funny. As soon as she appeared she was being her usual flirtatious self and then BAM! She got a knuckle sandwich instead.

And it's gonna bite Peter in the ass for years to come... :yay:

Well, it seems like Sanjani, May, Anna, JJJ Serior will be disowning OctoPeter soon...

Dan's definitely setting up a messed up life if (when) Pete comes back... :csad:

I like that they are doing that. He's gonna have to totally rebuild his personal life and his relationships with other heroes when he comes back. The only thing that will be great is his professional life but after this week's issue, that may be f***ed as well.

I'm kinda tired of seeing him "down in the dumps" all the time...
I just think that it shouldn't revert to that status quo within a "year" of actually being stable...
But that's just me... I'd like to see a Decade long run where he's got a "stable" life: a home, a job, friends

It's just too repetitive and kinda feels forced to go back to the Bottom Rung so quickly...

He had that once he married MJ... even if they never had a "stable" home (they did live in some sweet pads), he had a beautiful understanding wife to come home to no matter how sh****y his "work" day as Spidey went...

He needs that while single as well...

Aloha,
Don't forget, that's what Big Time was all about. He did have a great run there for a while.

Ya gotta love it...

Peter's had it far too easy since the 90's...

:yay:

Venom, Carnage, Parents come back and then turn out to be robots, Pete goes crazy, then his clone comes back, then he thinks he's the clone, then he's arrested for murder, then his Aunt "dies" but later turns out to be alive, then Green Goblin kills his clone and kills or kidnaps his baby, then he thinks Mary Jane died, but was just kidnapped herself, then that whole Sins Past mess happens, then that Other mess happens and Peter's "killed" by Morlun only to come back as a mutated Spider creature, then the Civil War mess happens and Peter unmasks only to have that backfire when his Aunt is shot, then Peter sells his marriage and memory of it to the literal Devil, then a bunch of other stuff since BND including, oh, his death and replacement by Doc Ock....

Yeah, Pete's had it really easy since the 90's. :o

For the majority of those stories, Peter had MJ to simply be there for him... a supportive wall during all those trying times...

Peter Parker "really" shines when he's all by himself, because it's just that much more difficult to face all those problems, including the ones that you listed, when you are alone.

:yay:

While some problems would be nice (it's fiction, we can't have things be perfect) I just feel the "stable" Pete phase , has barley been touched upon. I liked the Horizon path and felt it could have taken him into more fresh directions and really mature and define him for years to come. I'll always remember in Wolverine and the X-men, McCoy was consulting top scientific minds to help with Bru, and alongside Mr. Fantastic, T'challa, and Pym, was ol' Peter Parker in a labcoat offering insight. I liked that and felt that was a good place for him to be in.

I'm curious and concerned where he'll go once he gets back. He's no longer able to be a reporter or a scientist with a tailor-made schedule. I swear I'll puke if he has to live with Aunt May again. Not likely, but I dunno Marvel just hates to see Pete have any sense of growth for too long....

tl;dr of my statement: Going back to Pete vs the World could be interesting, but after barley getting his footing as a successful man, we're back to square one; didn't even get to fully enjoy this new direction.

Eh... Not really. Emo parker i always enjoyed the least. There's a difference between being an everyman and being quite literally the man with the worst luck ever....

I always quite enjoyed May and Mj being the people he comes home to and uplift him. Makes it far more worthwhile on what to keep fighting for.

Its hard to swallow stories about a guy who's been though hell , comes home to no one, is all alone, tries to stay positive and up-beat... And just keeps kicking for no other reason than its the right thing to do... Its just all sorts of depressing. It was perfectly fine in the early years when a giant chunk of the serious traumatic storylines hadn't happened yet... But after 50 years of history, and the proverbial "crap pile" keeps getting exponentially larger and worse as time progresses... Its just really sad.

It can easily get to the point where readers read spidey for his upbeat outlook on life for an everyman... To feeling better about yourself because "hey, at least i don't have it as bad as peter parker!"
