BvS The Superman suit Thread - Part 1

look at the post you originally quoted me for it, I mentioned it there ;)

???

even though I wasn't a huge fan of it at the start, if your going to change Superman's suit the Man Of Steel suit is the way to go. The only changes needed is to make the colors brighter (especially around the belt) and to give the cape a black or yellow "S".....thats really it cause all the armor crap that they put him in with the New 52 and injustice is just plain awful and completely out of character.

The armor gives him a military look which Superman has zero ties to and why the hell does Superman need armor in the first place? We've seen in the New 52 that Kryptonite still affects him and it offers nothing against it so its completely pointless.

Brighter colors, more noticeable belt and a second "S" on the cape

No mention of any biotech.

was kinda hoping someone else would.....mostly cause I hate reading Supergirl lol (they turned her into SuperAnnoying*****) but yeah I'd do it eventually.

Isn't she a Red Lantern now? It seems like they're just deliberately trying to push away from why the traditional Supergirl worked.

....yeah.....I wasn't actually asking it from where you quoted me from there, the reason I wrote "why is Superman wearing it" was more as me explaining it from Supergirls point of view, she doesn't know who he is but see's some random guy wearing her family crest and armor and is wondering why. Also pretty sure that the indestructible thing that Brainiac......I mean "The Collector" is talking about is Superman himself and not the suit.....cause if the suit is as indestructible as Superman then I'd be very very worried about this....

Editorial oversight. Happens a lot. The suit was supposed to be indestructible. In any case, even if it's not, he wears it for the same reason as in Man of Steel, because it's from Krypton and it's the only thing he has to wear from there.

Anyway......my point....no armor, no military looking garbage (yes I just called the New 52 suit garbage).

Not exactly an unpopular opinion. Anyway, what country are you from that your military dresses like that?

Just the Man Of Steel suit with brightened colors, make the belt more noticeable so its not lost when looking at the whole thing and a damn "S" on his cape either black or yellow....those really are the only changes needed for the suit :)

I don't think they should make any huge additions like adding the \S/. Unless the suit reacts to different things, like the New 52 suit does.

You're concentrating far too much on something that doesn't really matter.
This is the only post I have made about it. And surely I am the best judge of what matters to me.

So..speaking of the suit not ripping and all that, I found it funny how the needle that kryptonian german uses can get through it.

Cause the needle was kryptonian :oldrazz:
Maybe an extra point to the nanotech suit? or can fix itself but we haven't seen it yet. I have the same doubt, I wonder if someone has another theory.

It was an special needle? with some kind of tech. Of course they'll know how to penetrate the suit, they use the same kind of suit, they have a special scientist (Jax-Ur) So I think that wasn't big deal. But some of want to know really how they did it. Cause this is still speculation.

Yeah It would be cool to see how he puts on the suit, how it doesn't tear etc.
It would be cool to see the suit form onto Clark in one scene, plus it would give all the gals and some guys another shirtless henry ;)

The needle bit is interesting. Are we sure it went through the suit?

Because even bullets aimed directly at Supes could not harm or penetrate the suit.

EDIT: Frankly, Goyer has even admitted that they didn't think of everything. So something tells me it is one of the several lapses in the film, they very obviously didn't think this one through.

The suit could well be very resilient but also porous. I mean, a hypodermic needle would go through chain mail.

I would imagine it's more down to the suit's resilience being dependant on the environment in the same way Superman himself is. In a Kryptonian atmosphere, it's vulnerable to damage. Under a yellow sun, it's indestructible.

Yup. Chainmail is actually only really protective against slashing attacks. Stabbing with sharp pointy objects (daggers, sword tips) and arrows can still penetrate it.

my theory is that the Kryptonian stuff can cut, break etc other Kryptonian stuff. Goyer said that Krypton had no metal. (very unscientific idea btw) so the materials they use are either mineral or biomaterials. if they're made of biomaterials then they could be affected by the yellow sun radiation (and in turn red sun or kryptonite radiation)

Very odd idea since basically, in astronomy anything that other than lithium, hydrogen, and helium is technically a "metal" so to think a planet with life does not have metal is far fetched. There is plenty of iron and magnesium through the universe as well, so a planet without metal is such an odd idea. I don't know why they came up with that idea. A planet does not have metal, but does have animals on it that look like the homo sapien animals on Earth, who happen to live just fine on this planet so you would assume they are carbon based like us. I don't see how carbon based life forms would exist in an environment that apparently has carbon and oxygen but does not have metal.

Did you happen to catch that Lois is on the craft which simulates the environment of Krypton and was not crushed by the gravity of it? Wouldn't that mean hat Earth and Krypton have similar gravitational pull? Then Superman does not fly simply because the gravity of Earth is not strong enough, but more like he can proper himself or hurl himself through it.

I think this is the best idea. I agree 100%

Hi guys, just wanted to show this manip I made. I actually had a dream last night that the new Superman suit had been revealed and that it was like the Max Fleischer suit, so when I got up I had to make it to see what it would look like.

Actually looks pretty sweet! I'm not a fan of the trunks on live action Superman, but this does look interesting!

What site are you using to host the image? For some reason I can't see it.

Just Imgur. Funny, I've used it so many times here and it's always worked for everyone. Anyway, here is the direct link to the image >> http://i.imgur.com/lkicTlx.jpg

Also, here is an image of MF superman for reference.

Hmm, weird, I see the Fleischer Superman but yours leads me to a blank page. That has to be something with my browser I think or this particular computer.

Right click on it and open image in new tab
It helps sometimes :)

Take away the trunks and I'd love to see that as his next suit.

Very well done manip. However, Don't care for this look at all, maybe if the cape was left alone and not so short. I understand what you were going for and making it a true comic to live action suit, but never been a fan of that short of a cape.
