The colors, though, I've noticed them to be super unpredictable. Kind of a weird fabric. They can look amazing in set or promo pics, based on their reaction to light, and then look rubbery and almost black in the film, like in the interrogation scene. The recent ones show a shiny, slick blue that looks quite cool, really hope it stays that way for the film.

In an obscure interview Michael Wilkinson mentioned the yellow-gold color reacted to the lighting in strange ways.

That's because the blue top fabric is semi-transparent and the shine is coming from the muscle definition under layer which is completely shiny with a mirror surface.

They did this so it looks like he's literally a Man of Steel.

Pretty cool, didn't know.

The yellow-gold is also the same layer as the blue, just colored differently, so it is also reacting to the silver muscle under suit.

Indeed for the "S", but I'm not sure about the "belt" thingy...

...I wonder if this suit will have pockets like the MOS suit...?

It must have had pockets... or else where would Superman have been keeping that command key he handed Lois in Zods ship?...
Makes ya wonder...

Hey girl, hold this thing for me real quick. If they ask, say you found it.

I have some ideas, but it wouldn't be appropriate to say. :woot:

Probably because it'd be a useless accessory. It wouldn't contain anything or hold his pants up. As it is, it looks pretty alien, which is what they were going for.
There is nothing "alien looking" about a yellowish oval/rectangle stuck on a shirt slightly below one's navel. It's one of those arguments people make up to give something some credibility. It doesn't. The simple fact is that the buckle is there as a nod to the original costume, and there's nothing wrong with that. I liked the oval better than the rectangle and I'm glad they put something there but neither the oval or the rectangle is more "alien looking".

To those commenting on how the muscles are more apparent. I actually this this is just for filming at night. If you watch the Ice Bucket challenge video, the muscle suit isn't showing through as much.

So I think we are basically seeing a suit for filming at night. Also looking at the same video, the costume is much brighter. Again I think it's all the night filming suit.

Yeah, sorry storyteller but that doesn't make sense..

The suit just looks unfinished with ask the airbrushed muscles. It's the first thing I notice with the suit. Second is the weird piping. I don't know why it's there.

The suit has very few changes form the MOS suit. So to say it's unfinished it's weird.

I love the suit and I too don't see how it's unfinished? This pic here by the way IS Superman.

They could well be using several suits for different lighting situations.
At might the normal colors would wash out and be lost in shadows so they pump up the color a bit so the color and definition can be seen.
This goes for the muscles too. They exaggerate it a bit so it will show on film...in motion. The still shots don't really show what will be seen on film.
I would trust that the poster images will be closer for color tone and detail that will be seen in the film. It has been adjusted already.
This goes for the hair as well. In the poster it looks perfect. In some stills, just like MOS, it looks a little off.

I am not worried...; (

Snyder makes the best comic book costumes. The Man of Steel Superman suit is the best look for the character ever on screen. The alien glyph texture all over it, the semi transparent shine of look like steel. The American navy blue. The bright red. Raised symbol. The majestic, regal cape. Perfect.

100% agree. I know Man of Steel turned out to be quite polarizing, but the suit isn't. Nearly perfection.

Im honestly not a fan of the suit in the film itself. Loved it in set photos but within the film it was darkly lit' desaturated to the point that cavill looks as pale as Edward in Twilight and has a green tint that effects the natural, beautiful hue it has. I thought with Snyder on board it would pop but he went the singer route of making the film look drab and depressing
