I love the suit and I too don't see how it's unfinished? This pic here by the way IS Superman.

This is Superman.:up::super:

Its a damn good pic but once again the shine of the suit continues to add a more silver look to the blue in certain lighting which takes away from the beautiful hue that the suit naturally has. My ideal suit is my avatar

I don't know, I kind of like the silver. Makes him look like he's literally made of steel.

It won't look like that in this movie based on that official photo. But I like this filter myself:

I wouldn't say I'm against the idea of Superman's suit being incredibly bright, but I don't understand the notion that an element of Superman's personality is lost if the colours are more muted.

I flipping love the shine the suit gives!

As much as I love both the MOS and DOJ Super suits, I still would have love to see Henry wear this on screen.

I had made this a long time ago and posted it here, so thought i'd put it up again since you asked.

i love that suit design so much... i honestly think seeing a time period piece with the Fleischer design would make a great movie... very retro, and a fresh feel for superman, because other than that new Frontier animated film (and the original series) there really hasnt been anything related to the fleischer design

Agreed, IMO the Fleischer suit design is the best Superman suit design ever.

Again remember that they did make the suit to just take pictures from a camera phone or dslr at a distance. What the cameras for filming see can look very different. Also I noticed that the suit he was wearing for that Ice Bucket challenge did not seem at all to have that silver hue. This leads me to think that the silver is a result of filming at night. It may get that beautiful hue you like for the night scenes.

I just assumed that suit he was wearing in the ice bucket challenge was one of those lesser quality stunt suits.

IF they ever make a kingdom come style film, then yes, something similar to this would be great, but while supes is just starting out or has only been superman for a few years, then no, at least not for me.

This is why I said a period piece would probably be a better idea, something not connected to the present superman universe... with that, a standalone film would be nice.

Lose the trunks, and we have an awesome MOS 2 costume.

no.
I do not want to see this suit as the next suit in MOS 2. This particular suit design does not work for this incarnation of Superman. If we're going to do the Fleischer design, it's going to be the design in its entirety, in the time period where it belongs.

I second this. I would love to see a period film trilogy starting with Fleischer's 40's Superman. It could have Lana Lang as the love interest/ emotional support character. The second one could jump 30 or so years and have him meet Lois for the first time. Then the final installment could jump into the distant future, and end with him being the last man on earth as it is engulfed by a super nova. I believe a filmmaker said a while back that they would end a trilogy with that, and I thought that was a great idea.

that sounds like a cool idea to me  i would be up for that, with the suit changing with every movie, so that it would stay "current" with superhero costume trends

I don't think it should necessarily follow current movie trends, if I understand you right. It should try to make its own style completely separate from anything out there.

that was kinda what i meant, but not really... i meant the change from dark-retro to traditional-classic, if that makes any sense...

Justice League New Frontier did a good job in explaining why Batman changed his suit in the midst of the movie, and Superman even changed the appearance of his suit right after Our Worlds at War, to a darker color tone and removed the yellow from his shield to black, in grief for those who were killed in Kansas (if i remember correctly)... i kinda want to see something along the lines of that...

a change from a retro look Superman, one who makes the save, but then darts off quickly before anyone can question him... still being that mystery superhero (9:32)

with the end of the movie becoming known, being more open to the public and the newsmedia, with the next movie, playing a little catch-up, showing backstory since the last movie, with Superman appearing in his traditional suit, and how we know Superman as today
