Also Lion-O is the main character. This is his story get over it.

Did you guys whine this much when He-Man always saved the day in MOTU?
Just because Lion-O's the lead it doesn't mean he can't take a day off and let someone else have the spotlight, otherwise it's a waste of an ensemble cast. Even He-Man stepped aside so other characters could get some focus during MOTU.

Considering your nick is Panthro, pretty much an entire episode was dedicated to the backstory of Panthro/Grune. You should've noticed that.

Also the show has only had eight episodes so far, only 7 really because the first two were shown together. So give it some time. Geez.

I think Wily Kit and Kat have gotten some good spotlight and proven to be strong characters and personalities. And most definitely Mumm-Ra who is more of a legitimate threat than he ever was in the original series. And we don't have to deal with his inane evil schemes of the week anymore.

Siby, it wasn't necessarily inane to do the contest because Lion-O competed in order to win money and get supplies for his friends. So it was a noble goal.

But in a way, the Sword of Omens didn't really work or show its true power in the sword fight. Plus Lion-O had not really been all that good of a sword fighter before. He just sort of got by with the sword's power and brute strength.

That last part kind of made the climax fall apart for me, really. One doesn't just miraculously develop amazing swordsmanship because some washed-up old rabbit mutters a few platitudes. Kind of awkward. But I guess you could chalk it up to Lion-O actually having learned proper swordsmanship on some level but suppressing his true skill with his recklessness and impatience. That's what I'm telling myself so it makes sense, anyway.

No, it's a ******ed trope that you see in the worst kung fu movies. Where a guy trains his whole life to learn one super duper one hit kill move, then proceeds to get his ass kicked the whole movie only to remember at the last moment that he has this super duper awesome one hit kill move.

The key is simply not to think about it too much and enjoy all the super cool fights. :o

Stop being haters!

This show is the best thing out there!

It's good, I'll give you that. But the best? I think not. :o

It's the best that's on until Earth's Mightest Heroes comes back I'll give it that. :o

I just want to see Thor switch into his new clothes and be like, "Verily, 'tis good." :hehe:

i will say cheetarah is kinda undeveloped at the mo, and i don't mean in the breasticle department

This was a great episode, loved the Drifter although I thought he'd be a villain in disguise with the way he was putting Lion-O down at the beginning(Good thing he wasn't). I thought it was kind of silly how Lionel just suddenly had the skills to take down the Duelist after having a talk with the Drifter but the fact is that as a prince, he was trained in combat and all he had to do was clear his mind and use those skills. I also thought it was strange how the Drifter took the Duelist down with a piece of willow or whatever that was; but it was cool because the lesson was that he focused on using his inner strength, not his weapon.

Something I enjoyed and was waiting to see was how the animals in the city treated Lion-O and his Thunderian heritage. The Thundercats are just like all of the other animals now that their empire is gone, and I'm sure that's going to come into play more in later episodes. I also liked the mixture of the different species and I even saw a Parrot in the crowd, pretty unexpected.

Speaking of later episodes, now that the Drifter has taken the Duelist's stolen blades and is travelling to return them to their rightful owners, I hope that he and the Thundercats will cross paths again in the future. He's too much of a great ally to just never see again imo and he might even have the previous owners of the swords as his teammates, that would be cool to see. Could we also be seeing the Duelist again down the line? His reputation and power was basically taken from him by Lion-O, so he might somehow align himself with Mumm-Ra for vengeance or just go after the prince on his own.

With Thundercats, A:EMH, Young Justice, and the new Avatar coming out I feel like a kid in a candy shop.

Yeah, that's the lesson being delivered. He has the potential and the needed knowledge, but it's stuck unrealized behind his screen of recklessness and impatience, like you said.

The show isn't winning any awards for original storytelling, but it's not giving us a bunch of stinkers, either.

I hope they find him stuck in a tree branch somewhere :awesome:

Love Stephen Root... Hated the Drifter.

How can you hate the Drifter? His portrayal was fantastic in my opinion. A being who has lost his way and is like a leaf in the wind. He has lost so much of himself that he can't even control his own fate. Until Lion-O gives him a purpose and that's when you see him standing like he has bones.

I like that they are still hanging out at the place they found the Book of Omens. I like it when stories have a "home" for the characters and I wish they would explore it and find some mysteries there. Like the Cat's Lair was in the old series.

I do believe Tygra will also have his story told one day. Why would Claudus adopt a tiger? It serves no purpose unless it was to repay a debt to someone important.

The Vile One, you are right that the purpose for the duel was noble but showing off, by cutting the block in half was frivolous. Even though Lion-O didn't use the power of the sword, the sword in the original series would never have allowed itself to be drawn. It would make itself too heavy to wield or get stuck in the claw gauntlet. I think of the sword like a sentient weapon from D&D. They have a purpose to be used towards and some have huge egos that the wielder has to overcome in order to use it against its purpose.

I love this show because it makes you delve deeper into the material than just what is presented on the screen. Sadly, this might just be the reason it gets cancelled.

This is a reboot, its called Thundercats not Lion-O like He-Man is named after He-Man. Lion-O may be the main character but doesnt mean he should be as central as he has been. Maybe that will change but im already getting tired of just seeing him and snarf wondering around getting into trouble. You have a great supporting cast, they need to be more in front.

I wish they wouldve and they may still, had have Tygra take over leadership since Thundera is no longer in tact, they technically dont need to follow Lion-O or the old ways, so they couldve had Tygra take up mantle of potential king.

And I hope we get more Cheetara and mroe backstory with her and Jaga. She should have her own seperate hate for Mumm-Ra for basically destroying him.

A-ha, so this is were Panthro and Vile are hiding out.....

I'm loving the Thundercats reboot! It's a hundred times better than the original, imho. I was despairing at the A:EMH hiatus because I thought that would mean that my 9 year old would force me to watch some horrible D grade Disney Channel/Cartoon Network program on a loop, but thank you Thundercats for allowing me to have something to watch and enjoy with her.

I agree with those who hope Cheetara has episode focused on her soon. She is my favorite character so far. The show isn't perfect, as a lot of you have pointed out already, but it's leagues above most everything else out there right now. And let's hear it for less annoying Snarf! He alone made both me and Miniclare stop watching the original after the first few episodes.

Guys, it's one of the earlier episodes of the first season. Give it time to establish it's main character and then it'll show you more about the people around him. We've already had an episode focused on Panthro, so just have some patience... Or not, I don't care.
