The TMNT Movie Trailer Threads Merged

Also, while never actually said, the TMNT were actually Matt Murdock's pet turtles. He was walking down a street one day with his tank full of the four turtles andthe truck full of the toxic was coming near a blind man. Matt Murdock drops his tank of turtles to go save the man,and one of the canisters comes into contact with the turtles. At least,I think that's how it went.

 Thank you! :supes:

My 6 year old nephew is a big fan of the Turtles.

He got hooked with the new cartoon series, and has watched every episode (and anxiously awaits from the new ones). He also has every bit of merchandise of the new cartoon series.

So, would it be Ok for me to take him see this new movie?

really impressed by the trailer. I'm surprised the story's supposed to continue off the two films (when there was a third) like Singer w/ SR. I'm cool with Shredder not returning, a new villain is definitely needed, a really badass one. Casey Jones returning... don't care. unless they make him the superb a-hole he usually is then it's cool either way. but the teaser was friggin sweet. I thought the whole thing was serious until I noticed Leo came down before Mike and then it was predictably cool that he'd swan dive his landing.

kinda surprised people are downin' the CGI. those costumes were getting worse with every passing film. and no point in doing a toon movie, that's what the show was for. I like this CGI direction and love the CGI itself. I think I'll actually see this now and bask in the nostalgia.

oh, and here's the storyline courtesy of Apple:
"After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their rat sensei, Master Splinter, becomes worried when strange things begin to brew in New York City. Tech-industrialist Max Winters is amassing an army of ancient monsters to apparently take over the world."

The costumes in the first movie was outstanding. In part 3, Jim Henson Productions moved on, and they found a cheap and last minute replacement. Thats' why they looked so cheap in the third movie..

Yeah. This movie might be a bit darker than the cartoon, but I'm guessing the same amount as like Spider-Man and SM2.

More gritty I'm sure. Considering it's connected to the first movie.

In the very first issue of TMNT (which you can read on the TMNT website) it shows the kid (who's implied to be Matt) saving the blind man and getting struck with the toxic waste, but the cannister itself keeps bouncing and crashes into a turtle tank that another kid nearby is holding. So they weren't his turtles.

The new cartoon changed it so that 'Matt' was holding the turtle tank at the time of saving the blind man. I can't remember how exactly the old 80's cartoon had the accident occur.

well, i was one of those who complained when i first heard this would be CGI. I think i take that back. Impressive.

I wonder why Raphael and Leonardo are fighting?

Cause Raph is jealous of Leo and feels he should be the leader. They were always like that.

I thought Raph was just a loner and that always upsets Leonardo. But from the description it sounded like they are fighting for real not some minor dispute.

In the Munroe audio interview he mentions that one of the larger conflicts that Ralph has is that he feels they should be doing more to be fighting crime within the city.

Leo's been travelling the world honing his skills, and the rest of the Turtles have been stuck home. Splinter wants them to lay low until Leo comes back, which in turn frustrates Raphael. Eventually, he starts sneaking off to fight crime himself, ala Casey Jones.

i'm still on the fence about it. the new cgi looks great, but i'd love to see what they could do suit wise now-a-days.

I was talking about why they fight in the comics.I'm really not caught up with this one's plot.

What's wrong with it? As another poster mentioned, they're brothers!

Oh and its "Raph" NOT "Ralphy"...and "Don" NOT "Donnie" and the only reason they call Mike, "Mikey" is b/c he's the youngest and its kinda like a pet name.
That was then when times were simpler, now things are grittier what with 9/11 and the Turtles have to mature a bit, it's a rough world out there with terrorists and Bin Laden's everywhere.

I'M JUS' KEEEEEEDDDDDIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!

the trailer was great, i loved how to was serious at first then it became funny

That's not true? I thought it was because Raph is a loner type who doesn't like taking orders...

I've always akin Raph & Leo to the TMNT versions of Wolverine & Cyclops.

Mako, who was to be the voice of Splinter, passed away on Friday, a day after Kevin Munroe made it official. Very sad.
