Exactly, and speaking of that, I really like how they brought the hatred for Spider-Man aspect of Eddie Brock on film. It truly is great.

I have to say..TOPHER IS THE MAN! I just listened to the commentary and that guy is genuine about being a fan. He spoke very knowledgably about the comic origin of Venom. He talks about going to a mall to get a comic signed by Todd McFarlane when he was a kid. I was impressed when I heard that.

I don't understand why he turned down reprising the role in the spin-off film since he's such a fan. He did a great job & it'd be nice for him to return as Venom for a couple of spin-off movies.

Elektra was also horrible. It also bombed at the BO even though Jennifer Garner is nicer to look at than Venom (IMO).

Topher is also on record as to saying that he is not looking to make his Elektra and is done playing the character.

Not the words of anyone with a moral center. Plus, he got crispy.

Agreed. It would only confuse people. However, I don't see SM3 Brock being the anti-hero that people want. I just don't see that version getting any sort of moral center.

That said, I feel like they shouldn't even bother doing a Venom movie at all. But, that's just me.

i personally would not want to see a venom movie...ever. a sandman movie would be more belivable in terms of their characters from the spider-man movies.
venom is who we saw in 3. that symbiote was blown up and burned, incinerated along with eddie brock. for that reason alone they should not do a movie based off his name, character or appearance, hence...no venom. they want to make a sci-fi movie about another asteroid or the same one spitting out a crimson symbiote? fine, call it carnage, MAYBE i'd go see that, but hes a villain and that doens't give us much to work with. make silver surfer as a spin-off, they already make elektra. both of these are direct sequels of the prior movie and work well in conjunction to their origins. venom..hell no, never, please dont. as dead as ock is in number 2 that woudl be equally as stupid as them making a venom movie. those characters died and really don't have much merit or placement without spider-man

I agree, Venom is a huge fan favorite so I don't see a Venom movie being bad. But then Venom is just out to get spidey so in the end I don't see a movie thats all about Venom.

Hypothetically speaking, Spider-Man 4 could deal solely with Venom and his "resurrection."

Basically, a Venom spin-off would play the part of the fourth spider-man film, segwaying directly into Spider-Man 5
