If TSSM was at least replaced with something good, or half-decent, I wouldn't be as annoyed. I was hoping that USM would at least be a faithful animated adaption of the comic of the same name. That would have been neat.

Marvel doesn't even own the show. Sony does. So there's no point in continuing it anymore.

Marvel/Disney could just buy the character designs from Sony, but they won't because they're greedy.

Been watching Man of Action stuff.... And I just realized that they have no idea when to stop being too over the top. Example: Generator Rex. What could be worse? Ultimate Spiderman. I feel really bad... Man of Action (or at least back in the Generator Rex days) are one of the few studios that still does that comic book style.... They just needed to hire competent writers... Which they didn't.

I can agree about him being an idiot at certain moments, and I said he's the worst character in a few episodes
Dude still made the Anti-Venom (smarter plot device than getting rid of the symbiote using a gene cleanser, methinks), kicked Taskmaster's hide, and more

I really keep trying to give the show another chance, but I find most of the episodes unbearable. And that's coming from a Spider-Man fanatic.

I give it like a 3.5 out of 10. It's pretty bad, but I've seen worse. At least the animation is of alright quality, even if it has no personality.

I really feel like this entire cartoon is one great big F.U. from Disney to Sony, using Spider-Man's popularity to introduce kids to Marvel characters to whom Disney owns the film rights. For a Spider-Man cartoon, there's surprisingly little Spider-Man in it. I feel like it ought to be called "Spider-Man: Part Time SHIELD Agent and C-List Superhero"

Yeah, they felt the need to introduce a lot of character most don't care about, they did pretty much the same thing with Hulk Agents of SMASH, and i don't think Marvel will ever put the characters in that one into any movie

Spider-Man uses humor as a coping mechanism while he is fighting crime or really dangerous super villains. In USM, the humor is just for the sake of humor.

Though sometimes his humor can get annoying and exagerated beyong proportions, like when he's written by Bendis, take a look at him soloing 2 Phoenix powered mutants in Avengers vs X-Men

So I recently discovered that Ultimate Spiderman is on Netflix and I wanted to give it a shot.

I tried.

It's embarrassingly bad. As a HUGE fan of the actual USM comics, I find it even more bizarre that they use the visual character likeness from the comics in this awful show, especially given that it isn't at all based on the comics of the same name.

I didn't come here to just hate on the cartoon - I genuinely did try to like it. But they use Spiderman (and a range of other superheroes) as a flashy gimmick and nothing else - there's no story to follow, no character development, no sense of urgency, nada! It's like watching a bunch of executives with too much anime influence who know nothing about the hero I grew up with playing with a bunch of action figures on their coffee break, and calling it a Marvel cartoon

Watching it again, and I still stand by my statement. It HAS the production, but not the writers.
