Well, I did say that 'maybe she was', just that I didn't find anything offensive about it personally. I mean, honestly, I didn't even know of this song's existence until just now; I don't follow Lady Gaga or any attempts of her's to stir controversy.

Are you religious at all, I don't think I've ever seen you talk about religion. Either way, you don't see how releasing a song called Judas, the name of the man who gave up Jesus to the Romans which led to his crucifixion during Easter, the most holy of weeks for the Christian religion would be even slightly offensive? I mean, you might not give a damn but surely you must see how someone can be offended.

Hey I just realized it's Sunday morning and we're talking about religion. We should make this a staple of the Lounge.

I'm a fan of Jesus myself and it didn't offend me personally either, it did piss me off that she tried to pull off a stupid stunt and i'm pleased that it failed. i lost a whole lot of respect for her and i thought she was better than that. It's like the superman thing going on in the media, i actually read the story and i know why he did what he did, so it doesn't offend me. Mike Huckabee is running with it as a negative thing just like the Vatican would have done to the Gaga song if they picked up on it.

The Pope didn't bother because he deemed the song mediocre at best in the name of the father, the song and the holy ghost.

or possibly it was because the media was worried about the freak who was going to burn the Koran in Dearborn, Michigan, the biggest Muslim populated city in the united states that same week.

The Pope is a fan of flamboyant musicians, that's why he cosplays Liberace all the time.

I was looking more at the song and the symbolism, that's true, but if you're a fundamentalist or radical who only looks at the surface of these things you have a point, I suppose, but those are the kind of people who are offended by basically everything. And, I guess it's like Corp said, I figured that stuff was so common nowadays that no one gave much care toward that kind of stuff unless it was something really shocking. But, I don't know, I guess I'm really not in tune with what offends the general Christian community

I only have passing knowledge of Lenny Bruce's material, so I'm seriously asking you, what undertones?

Just...nothing. I guess.

and that's the problem. that someone within your group can say "**** you" to thousands of people and that's ok, but if someone outside says "**** you" to anyone in your group they should be fired.

.....and that's called being a hypocrite

I would be a little offended if the guy called me a n****r or went on that path, but I wouldn't get a lawyer involved and call for someones head about it

a fine and an apology is suitable

You baffle me.

For the record, I have no feelings of homophobia in any form.

just to point out, i don't hate her but i'm the kind of guy who points out some one just took a **** in their pants if i smell it.

Yeah noone who is healthy in their minds would hate someone over the internet, dislike or be bothered? Perhaps, but hate? Very soft skinned person then. :p

I was extremely put off by her behavior at CitiField last season....I was at that game, and she was giving people the finger and yelling at other fans...and had done the same at Yankee Stadium around the same time

she's now been banned from the Yankee clubhouse and is not welcome at CitiField anymore, from what Ive read on the Mets blogs

fine, no...but suitable action was taken IMO

I've always been under the impression that Louis C.K.'s statement on this was the best one. Unfortunately I can't post it due to massive profanities. It's under LOUIS C.K. - ****** - CHEWED UP on youtube. Pretty funny.

this, a million times.

Aww, I was just joking about fining for her existence, but there's that I guess

Lady Gaga is an act....from a PR standpoint, its a smart move, you get "the geyz" on your side and you have a built in fanbase...both Madonna and Cher have stepped back so she capitalized on that vacancy and has succeeded....to me she is no more than pop music, no better than a Justin Bieber or Rihanna

I personally have no use for music anymore, its all just manufactured now

I think Judas gets unfair hatred. Guy was just doing what he was supposed to.

Judas snitched.....religious stuff aside....dude snitched on his boy

not cool

Only from the account that got into the Bible. There was a book of Judas. Where Jesus told him to do it. And he didn't kill himself, the other apostles whacked him.

One of the big problems I've always had with Christianity is the whole destiny, God's plan thing. How can you be punished for doing what you were destined to do? You can't have destiny and free will. It's gotta be one or the other, otherwise God's just a *****e for sending people to burn in hell for doing what he wanted them to do in the first place.

that's when Jesus invented both the high five and the three days rule

so when St. Peter goes over your vast collection of tranny pron and tranny related activities, you don't want questions

With all the boy buggering in the Catholic church, I think Saint Peter should have no room to judge. :o

not exacly, you can have both. destiny is what you're supposed to do, not what you actually do. so you have free will to accept your destiny or no.

^^facts.
