People just don't want to use spoiler tags.

I'm out of this thread from now on.

Would those who are posting spoilers from the comics put spoiler tags on them and label them as comic book spoilers, for the benefit of those of us who have not read the comics? That would be appreciated!

Wow. So I just read compendium one of TWD comic...and I really enjoyed it. The Governor is one sick SOB. I'm definitely interested to see how some of these things unfold in the next season, and exactly what they'll use from the comic. Obviously some of the plot points are going to be changed. Carol is completely different from her TV counterpart, Dale's already gone, and T-Dog isn't similar to Tyreese much at all. I'm also curious to know if they'll cover the entire prison/governor arc in one season.

One thing though. I discuss this in spoilers, because even though the comic has been out for a while I'd rather not spoil any events of it for anyone.
Does anyone think they'll have the balls to tackle some of the very disturbing events that happen during this arc? I suppose they could do it, but a lot of it will have to be implied as opposed to graphically shown. Also, I'm not sure if I'll be all that sorry when Lori dies, if she dies the same way she does in the comic. I'll be sorry for the baby, but I'm just not digging Lori's character right now, and I really haven't been for a while. I understand their rationale for her reaction to Rick, but I just think she's being very selfish and her character has really gotten on my nerves.

However, I'm very interested to see if they'll have Rick do some of the things he does in the comic. Shooting that inmate while fighting the zombies, and strangling Martinez for example. It's some very Shane-like behavior. Also I think the Governor is a perfect villain to explore the theme of Rick becoming twisted by this world, because he's the perfect example of the leader who's gone too far and now he'll never come back.

When the series first premiered and we were introduced to Daryl, did anyone ever imagine him becoming the best character on the show?

God, Im going to hate it if he dies. Id probably be livid if Lori somehow causes his death.

God lord, if that happens
I'll be rooting for her to get taken out the way she does in the comics.

Depends, Lori as of today, no I wouldn't miss her...but things can change so fast, many wrote off Andrea earlier in the season, and just a few scenes of badassary has changed some minds. So depends how they handle her from here, no more awkward triangle with Rick and Shane...I assume she'll be full on showing baby bump sometime soon, some good writing could still save her. Also I am not 100% against the baby not dieing if they want to take a very different route, seeing Judith grow up with big brother Carl.

lol Daryl's not even in danger yet, and you people are already assuming that Lori would somehow be behind his hypothetical demise? I'm as tired as the broad's shenanigans as anyone, but this is starting to get cray.... :o

I'm not opposed to that either. They just need to start writing her better. She's just been far too shrewish lately. And I think the thing that annoyed me most was they had her going all Lady MacBeth with Rick one moment, and then freaking out about Shane being dead the next.

As someone who watched all of seasons one and two before picking up the comic, there's a lot of back and forth on things I liked and didn't like. For example: The character of Shane I enjoyed infinitely more on the TV Show, and his death scene in the series was far more interesting to me from a character standpoint.

I also kind of missed the child-romance between Carl and Sophia that's been happening in the comic, but I also enjoyed the Sophia reveal in S2.

I have no idea why they decided to write T-Dog the way he's been instead of going with Tyreese...I don't think I'll ever understand that logic...at all. Complete waste of potential.

Lol, shes going to get him killed and somehow find a way to blame it on Rick and Glenn.

Probably accuse Rick with having an affair with Herschel or something while shes at it.

I hope Hershel sticks around. He's my new second favorite character, after Daryl.

I guess they now need an older father type figure in the group seeing as how Dale is gone.

And as far as Carol not being attractive; it's the end of the world, women are scarce..she'd look pretty hot to me under those circumstances. :o Hell, Glenn has the hottest chick on the show, on his arm, yet i doubt it would have went down that way under normal circumstances...

That wasn't directed at me was it? I thought I put everything in spoiler tags.

I think everyone's just joking around. The character's gotten a bit annoying, but I don't expect the writers to actually have her fall that far. I wasn't as annoyed with her as some, but it was just the last episode that really got to me more then anything. I really think it was just a by-product of not really having a clear arc of what to have happen character-wise on the farm during the slow period of Season Two.

Actually, I didn't really mind the "slow" parts that much either. Certainly not as much as some did. To be honest, the worst episodes of TWD are still better then 90% of what's on TV now. But I do think they could have used the time better.

I'm not as worried for Season 3. There's a lot of material to cover there in terms of what happens in the comics. I'm wondering if they'll fit in all in one season or bring it out to two actually.

Given the popularity of this thread and the show, shouldn't The Walking Dead have its own forum like Heroes and Smallville did? Then there could be separate threads for those who have read the comics and those who haven't?

This thread just keeps on going, never stopping and everyone would benefit with having a forum to focus on certain topics and discuss each episode and upcoming ones.

A great second season and yet underwhelming season finale. It was just pointless. And what? Shane died and now Rick is the new Shane? Seriously?

Oh good grief, there's always one.

Image needs to come out with the second compendium already, dammit! :cmad:

As much as I love the money saving compendium, I love the hardback volumes more. So far I bought volumes 1, 5, and 6 and they look gorgeous.

Maybe with the success TWD is having Kirkman can get an Invicible project off the ground. Be it live action or cgi, movie or tv show. I just wanna see something, I love that book as much as TWD.

He's going to be at the Chiller Theater convention in my town next month. I'm so going. Love Daryl!
