I think it's obvious from that article that we won't be getting tyrese on the show as darryll is obviously taking over the role of ricks sidekick at the prison.

Which makes you wonder why daryll for tyrese on the show?

I don't think Daryl is taking Tyrese's spot per se. I think Daryl is the first, and will def die by seasons 4's end. I'm thinking Tyrese shows up the end Season 3 or midway through season 4 if it'll be 16 episodes like season 3.

"7. Carl is the anchor of the series"

as in he makes the show drag?

What good is the anchor of a boat, if it's always missing?

:dry::huh::dry:

Actually in an earlier article in this thread the creators mention being very interested in introducing Tyreese into the series, so I wouldn't be so sure.

also, can someone watch the damn kid?! I mean they just had a zombie stumble onto the farm and they have a possibly dangerous man on the grounds, but Carl isn't supervised enough to stop him from just popping-up right as Shane is re-animating. Honestly! Put a damn bell on the kid.

What happened to the black guy and his kid from the first season?

I'm a Proud T-Dogg fan :word:

We'll see.

In the comics-

In the comics, Rick returns to get Morgan and Duane to come with him. Morgan is alright, Duane is a zombie.

[BLACKOUT]You probaly wont see them again for a while. Going by the comic, they don't appear until after the whole prison/woodbury story arch. See how they said that storyline will take up 2 seasons, I think we will see them again in season 4 or 5.[/BLACKOUT]

I want to see him rage even harder this season. :o:up:

The one thing I'm disappointed at with the TV series is actually something they can't control. Since they've been going at a fairly slow pace, I know that by the time we get past the governor/prison arc, Carl will be in his teens. Which is unfortunate, because the comics have some great moments with Rick and Carl after the prison, but most of it revolves around the fact that Carl is an 8 year old kid in this horrible world. It's a bummer to me that we won't be able to see some of that.

I'm assuming that, at a certain point, they'll be faced with two options: kill Carl or recast. Given that the character is a big part of what's to come, I'm hoping for a recast, but that may be pretty jarring, given the size of his role on the show. It's not the same as with Don Draper's kids. Carl is actually a key player.

Well, after reading the last interview where they talk about how they may supplant Dale's comic fate to another character, I wonder if they'll have Carl go through some of the things that occur after the prison arc in the comics during the prison arc of the TV Series.

At least, I hope they do that. TV Carl needs to get a healthy dose of comic Carl characterization. That will really help him be a more interesting character, and I think less annoying.

Well, from what I've gathered from the show, Carl's older than his comic self.

I think Carl is supposed to be 10 or 11 in the show.

Also, since the show is not following the comic very closely, they'll probs either settle that with a time jump, or ignore it completely.

I don't think Carl being 8 in the comic or older on the show really makes that much of a difference either way. He's still a young child thrown into a horrific situation.

Well, my point is that there are some very specific things that happen to Carl in the comics after the prison arc, and a lot of the character building that happens and what makes it interesting is the fact that he is still a pre-teen young child. At the rate this show is going, by the time they get to these events, Carl will be in his teens which won't have the same dramatic effect.

Which is also why I wouldn't mind it if they decide to have some of these events happen to Carl during the prison arc of the TV series while he's still young.

In real life, yes, Riggs will be in his mid teens. Maybe. We don't know the exact pacing they're using for the show and if they intend to scrap any specific story lines.

I can think of one particular one right off the bat that may never see the light of day on the screen, and may even be altered.

That being said, 10 years worth of comic has only progressed abt 2yrs. In my personal opinion, I actually wouldn't mind if Carl ages on the show. Carl remaining 8 for a possible 7 season series show seems a bit stagnant.

Chandler Riggs never looked 8 to begin with. Even in the first season, he looked old enough to pass for 10 or 12. So I figure the Producers aren't really caring abt that aspect at all. But honestly, once again, they are BARELY following the story line. So, I doubt it'll be THAT big of a problem.

And honestly, I still don't understand the argument of 8 yrs old vs. Early teens going through post apocalyptic life. Whether he was 8 or early teens, he's still in his formidable growing years where his identity of self and the world around him is still being formed. So what difference does it make if he's 8 or 13. It's still a eff'd up world to live in. The things that happen to 8 yr old Carl in the comic can be made to be just as crazy and traumatizing to 13 or 14 year old Carl.
