when did walkers become so devious by playing possum and then making their move?... just seems very strange and unusual and uncharacteristic behavior for a walker...

It wasn't a walker... It was a waiter. :rimshot:

Wait, that's not right...

That type of zombie has been around for a while on the show. There were zombies sitting in buses and cars and not moving until a living person walked by. The comic took the time to outline the different types of zombies, if I remember correctly. The show hasn't bothered, but it's nice to see they're incorporating those elements.

I thought the season premier was pretty great, but I did question why in the hell was Hershel going with the group through these catacombs in the prison. If there is one person they need to keep safe, it is that guy. With the baby a few days away from being born, it probably would've been better if he had stayed back with Carl and the women.

Also, I am finding Carol much more likeable. She has progressed from being a quiet, submissive door mouse to throwing out blatant sexual innuendos with Daryl.

I was so happy with rick being a total ahole to lori,,,useless biotch
oh michonne and andrea,,awesome
and whats up with carl and herschel's daughter?

Lori never changes, the whiny bee-yotch... :cmad:

and the kids are starting to notice each other now, it appears... it's only natural in their situation as the only youngsters in the group... good for them...

and it's nice to see Carl becoming a hardass now...

A friendly bond, I wouldn't say the love each other yet but it does look like they are using Sophia's storyline with Carl in the prison on Beth.

I think the Carl/Hershel Daughter thing would be creepy, if it's not the show's intention to suggest there is something weird going on there, they need to stop with the long looks, I can see Carl having a hard crush on her, but there is nothing manly about him at all yet, the 17 year old should find nothing attractive about Carl, I would just find it way more believable for Hershels other daugher (her name again? I just see her as future walker bait) anyways I would expect her to go for Glen, even Daryl or T-Dog at the age of 17.

Let me just say, had she gone for T-Dog, Hershel would swallow a knife. :BA

I think it would be T-Dog doing some swallowing, if I judge Herschel correctly...

daryl uses arrows over and over on walkers. then he hunts with them too, he is just asking to get infected.

Heh, I don't think it works like that.

Even if it was a way to get "infected", I'm pretty sure they've shown Daryl sterilizing his arrows in fire at least once.

Daryl, and everyone else for that matter, is already infected

But if you mean for cleanliness's sake, I'm sure he cleans the arrows. They still have soap and can boil water in the zombie apocalypse

when did walkers become so devious by playing possum and then making their move?...

I found it pretty weird and so unlike a walker to just be sitting on the floor looking all out of it completely and then JUST as Herschel walks by and is close enough, the walker suddenly makes his move and goes for Herschel's leg...

doesn't that act alone show that the walker had a trace of intelligence by doing that, instead of their usual rambling and pursuing their victim?...

just seems very strange and unusual and uncharacteristic behavior for a walker...

do you remember the army walker in the tank that Rick crawled into in the Pilot? Did the same exact thing.

I loved the season premeire. You can tell that Rick is no-nonsense this season, and glad that Carl is becoming a bad-ass. The group as a whole ( well, except for Lori) has become more hardened survivors. Loved the scene with the gas-mask zombie ( very Return of the Living Deadish). Seeing Michonne is always a pleasure, but am I the only one who thinks that her and Andrea might fall for each other ? ( maybe it's just me,lol).

Also, there seems to be more surviving prisoners than in the comics, so I'm guessing thats extra zombie food for dramatic effect.

Does anyone think that
One of the prisoners is going decapitate Herchel's younger daughter like the twins were in the comic ?

also did anyone else hear Rick refer to the walkers as "a-holes" to Carl? Or was that just me?

Regarding your portion in the spoilers, I think that

If they go the Tomas killing any of the survivors storyline, it will either be Carol or Beth, maybe both. Don't think they will kill off Maggie that way, unless they want Glen to go super crazy and have a moment where he kills a living person in cold blood.

well not sure if you've been following the show or comics
but yes everyone in the world is already infected, you become a zombie when you die, bitten or not, being bit only causes you to die quicker, and this was also revealed on the show in last season's finale.

hehe not sure if you were questioning or confused that the issue wasn't already known :)

Well Herschel obviously dies from the preview for next ep showing a grave. Way to go marketing!

That could have been anyone, and it looked like Daryl approaching the grave, also could be much later in the season, could be Carol, Merle, anyone.

If they follow the book(lol) that cross could be anyone. This was a season preview not a next ep preview. I have a feeling Herschel may take on elements of dales story.

Dale btw was this shows best character and received one of the dumbest deaths thus far.

Agreed, but Jeff DeMunn has collaborated with Darabont on just about everything he has done, and when Darabont left the show, DeMunn did too in protest, they filmed his death scene, and then he realized his mistake and asked to reshoot the scene, but it was too late. Which is really disappointing considering how great Dale was in the show.

yeah I know about the way the virus works. Was confused how the previous poster thought he was going to get more infected from re-using arrows?

you're right, I DO remember that, now that you mention it...

just really not the norm for a walker to play possum, nonetheless...

A minor issue but I think this show has some of the worst depictions of guns/shooting i've seen. Aside from all the running super accurate head shots, it's obvious they're using non-firing props with the fake looking digital flash added (budget?) but could the actors firing them at least pretend they have some recoil?

Seeing loris and carl's spaghetti arms firing off 9mm's like their arnold just looks a little amateur for a pretty action packed show.
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed. This was my main issue.
