The Walking Dead The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 12 "Remember"

Does anyone else, wonder if one of the men Deanna mentioned exiling was Negan?

I'm wondering that as well. She's also referring to her husband and her other sons in the past tense. Maybe they're dead or exiled?

I don't know why but the clean shaven Rick scene reminded me of this. :o

Fantastic episode. I really loved it. This is the kind of great character development episodes they should be doing. Not dividing the group up into slow episodes, but keep them together as a dynamic. It was a 'quiet' episode, but a strong character driven one. Never boring. Glad the characters cleaned up a bit, except Daryl of course lol. Nice to see 'Sheriff Rick' back again.

Deanna is great. Initially the comic book fan in me was disappointed that it wasn't Douglas, but in hindsight I'm enjoying Deanna more. Jesse and Rick are so going to get it on. I'd say her creepy husband is going to go nuclear over that. All the new characters are likable, intriguing, or in the case of Deanna's son the kind of character who you love to see get knocked on their ass like how Glenn did to him. What a dumbass keeping walkers chained in the woods.

I wonder what that girl who is ice cold to Carl is up to sneaking over the fence into the woods. Watching Carol, the most bad ass gal of the lot, pretend she was just a house wife who misses her hubby, and got protected by the group was a hoot. Deanna mentioning the exiling of three men, I have a feeling that is going to come back to bite Alexandria in the ass.

All in all I am loving this new turn in the story. Felt like a breath of fresh air. My second favorite episode of this season.

Good episode. They're recovering from the nadir that was the back-to-back characte death fumbles. I can more understand what they have been aiming for in those choices even if I maintain they botched the landing. All the misery being undercut by the potential salvation of Alexandria. Now we have the fascinating question of how these hardened survivors could ever return to a normal life, if indeed that even exists anymore. It's a fresh, unique idea that's thankfully not the same drudge of people suffering and degrading all the time. At its worst the show was that and its usually at its best when it is changing the formula around.

through all the things rick's had to go through, he hasn't had a peaceful amount of time to settle through it all - the back to back stuff triggering ptsds. that's probably why he was flustered in alexandria.

Really good episode, I loved many moments but Glenn being a bad ass and knocking the son on his ass was the highlight, along with Daryl being awesome in that moment. This new place certainly has secrets and it will be interesting to see what they are.

I like how the writers have handled Glenn so far this season. He didn’t have much to do last season b/c he was ill from that flu most of the 1st half. Then during the 2nd half (after the fall of the prison) he was only hell-bent on finding Maggie, which was understandable b/c they’re spouses.

Can’t wait to see what job they give Maggie, Abraham, Eugene, Rosita, and Sasha.

I wonder if Beth was still alive and was open to Alexandria would Daryl be? He’s becoming more of a loose cannon like his brother Merle.

One problem I’m having with this season is the balancing of screen time with that huge cast. Nothing much happening with Abraham, Eugene, and Rosita. Also Gabriel seemed to have disappeared once they went into Alexandria. But we still have four episodes left.

Great episode all around. Loved Carol playing the old housewife role and it was great seeing Glen and Daryl take out those two pricks. Also, some really great scenes from Rick and Carl here... Lincoln and Riggs really did a great job of showing the toll everything has taken on them. Only one thing bugged me in this episode. RICK, YOU HAVE A KNIFE THE SIZE OF A MACHETE RIGHT THERE WHY ARE YOU USING THAT OTHER LITTLE KNIFE TO KILL ZOMBIES?!!! DO YOU WANT TO GET BIT?!!!

I took it as Rick wanted that struggle. He’s clearly capable of handling the situation with either weapon, but it felt like he chose to use the smaller weapon to vent any stress and anxiety he was feeling. Also, there was a lot of talk about the group needing to avoid “going soft”, so choosing the larger, more effective weapon would have been “too easy”.

Yea, that was one of my favorite moments. I cheered when Glenn ducked and countered, and laughed my ass off when Daryl slammed the other guy into the ground.

There were a lot of great moments in this episode. It's a breath of fresh air - while I always enjoy the smaller/slower episodes, seeing everyone out of their element was great. It's cool to see the group in comparison to other "experienced" people - you get to see that Rick and Co. really are a force to be reckoned with, which is sometimes forgotten when you're just seeing them kill walkers.

Agreed, that's why I loved this episode despite there not being much action, and yeah Glenn punching the guy and previously bollocking him for nearly getting Tara killed was great.

This might of been one of my favorite episodes. It was really fun to see the group out of their element. There hasn't been much time devoted to Abraham's group. I can see Eugene being silent from embarrassment , but there isn't enough time to focus on all of them and I can see a lot of casualties coming soon.

I'm still waiting for the full repercussions of Eugene's lie. Other than Abraham no one has felt any lasting impact from it. I figured once Rick found out about it he would go berserk but it's largely been forgotten about.

There was no big repercussions about his lie in the comics either. Abraham punched him and that was about it.

Love this ep.

Was Carol faking it when she was taking that big run off her shoulder, when they were turning their guns in? She looked very clumsy doing it, and she was giggling…very un-Carol-like.

To be fair, Rick and his group have been wandering around rather aimlessly just trying to survive, and he never seemed to take the DC story particularly seriously, so I think he'd probably just be mildly disappointed. It's not like he and Eugene were even friends.

For Abraham it's all he had to live for, and a personal betrayal.

He endangered Rick's people with the insistent trek to Washington. All of the people, including Glenn and Maggie, could have easily died on that trip and nearly did due to Eugene's choices (putting crushed glass in the bus they were in). Granted he didn't do it out of malice but still. Nothing about Rick would suggest he would just let that go without even a conversation. Everyone else's quickness to forgive makes sense because they are, or were, in survival mode but not mentioning it at all doesn't. It's literally been brought up directly once and the reaction at the time was completely nonchalant.
