The Walking Dead The Walking Dead Season 5, Episode 7 "Crossed" Discussion Thread

Who is this dude on the couch, dressed up like H.G. Wells?

I swear to god, these people keep making the same mistakes over and over again

You get tired of seeing it
Seriously. These writers are excellent at dragging their feet.

Did they really have to make this lead-up to the midseason finale so predictable? A waste of an episode, honestly, in a lot of ways, even if it had some good action moments and character stuff.

Has Chris Hardwick mentioned that it's his birthday yet??

This was the first episode of the season that I've really felt was trash and a waste of my time. Rick's plan would have been great...kill these 3 cops...and then wait a bit...see if you can get them to send a few more cops out. If they do, kill them too...if not...then you already have the advantage...maybe try to pick one or two off in a sniper attack or something.

This "lets trust the people who literally just tried to kill us" nonsense is getting really old.

So they were napalmed zombies after all, thanks Talking Dead trivia!

Did you guys know it's his birthday?

I know, right? He should mention it on the show.

He was posting pictures from a party at Disneyland on Instagram last night, it was pretty funny.

It would be pretty funny if the next poll question is, did you know it's Chris Hardwicks birthday?

That's what I thought they were.

Yeah, they looked a little like fried chicken lol.

I felt that way about 99% of last week's episode as well. They definitely stuffed these episodes with filler and knew it.

Honestly I thought after seeing Rick's first mistrusting reaction to Gabriel, that he'd become cold enough to have killed that a hole bald cop. He must have something important to do in the next episode if he's being kept alive.
I was kidding. He's mentioned it about a dozen times since the show started.
I had a feeling you were kidding when I saw your above post, lol
This show is honestly so ****ing stupid.

yes it is. but you get so attached to the characters.

Maybe you should watch something else.
I've been with the show since the beginning. It's like an abusive partner - hard to let go of.

And I hate posts like these. It's OK to criticize the show, you know. It is FAR from perfect.

Aside from some good character and action moments here or there in the past few episodes, they've been largely useless and almost entirely set-up. It's just not good writing anymore.

I miss Shane.

Oh please. Of course it's ok to criticize the show. I read the comics and I've watched it since the beginning, and I have issues with it just like everyone else. You should just criticize it better next time.

What?

Alright then.

If you want me to be more specific - it is as someone else pointed it. These characters make the same mistakes over and over again. I guess Rust was right, at least when it comes to the Walking Dead writers' room.

So, slim...you're saying that aside from good character development, some cool action, and plenty of set-up for the big finale pay-off, the episodes have sucked?

So...you must have really liked them, because that stuff is all very important to a tv show's entertainment value.

See? That wasn't so hard.

Haha, I guess not. :oldrazz:

Stop baiting.

No, I"m genuinely confused about what you expect out a tv show like this if character development, action and set-up for an explosive mid-season finale is not it.

Oh, that wasn't meant for you. I edited the post, haha, as you can see now.

I saw that too...I was going to edit mine, but it wouldn't have made any sense at that point anyway. :oldrazz:

Ok, why are you putting words in my mouth? I never once said anything about character development or set-up for an explosive midseason finale. I said there were some good character moments (not the same thing) and action in the past several episodes, but not much else. The show has essentially become all build-up with very little payoff. And not only that, the build-up has to be glacially slow. Seasons 4 and 5 have been a slog, I don't know what Scott Gimple is doing anymore.

Haha yeah, basically. :oldrazz:
