The Walking Dead The Walking Dead Season 5, Episode 6 "Consumed" Discussion Thread

Carol-based episode >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all of you. :argh:

And I thought it was supposed to be Emily Van Camp on tonight's Talking Dead. :csad:

I thought it was a lot better than the last two episodes.

Right up there with the first three of the season which I thought were pretty great.

The van on the bridge had some weird physics. It was flipping upside down in the air and then magically lands on all four wheels. I was like HUH???!!! Fail by the production crew there ha.

My roommate and I were laughing about that. I was certain the fall would break Carol but instead she also got ran over. It was nice to see the zombies landing o. The hood. Overall it was an entertaining episode and nice to see it focus on Carol because I have the awful feeling she's not going to make it past the midseason.

I don't get the issues with the van.

The Walking Dead does not take place in our world. Instead, it takes place in a world very similar to ours in many ways, but different in others. In their reality, grass does not grow so high that it needs to be cut, guns are designed to hold many more bullets than ours do, vans are built in such a way that they will land on their tires, fire trucks are able to shoot water without the engine running and others things.

If this episode was about any other characters other than Carol and Darryl, this episode would be boring. But I loved it.

Poor Carol.....I see where all of this is potentially heading and it makes me sad at the thought of it. :(

Second episode this season I was actually bored and hoped it would end soon. The first boring episode focused Daryl and Beth. This episode was so monotonous having the story centered around two of the most drab characters (Daryl and Carol; Even saying their names together sounds annoying) on the show. I like Daryl but he is only tolerable when he is doing Rick's bidding or some other grunt task he has been given.

Can't wait for next week when the story is back on Rick and the others.

I found this episode a bit boring.

Yvette Nicole-Brown looks like she lost some weight.

Noticed the unmistakable voice of Alison Mosshart singing the opening song.

Rick and The Wrecking Crew got a new mission. When mofo's gonna learn they messing with the wrong people! :)

Yeah this was a alright episode, it's just an episode for tying loose ends for Carol. I did love when they were roaming the streets in Atlanta but that was pretty much it. It's the calm before the storm.

Even though it was predictable how it would end (with Daryl escorting Noah back to the church for reinforcements and an injured Carol being apprehended at that hospital holding Beth) b/c of what we already knew from previous eps but I thought it was a good overall.

I was glad in the intro with Carol's flashback that they showed how she discovered the prison being demolished. B/c in season 4 ep 10 when she explained how she found Tyreese, Judith, Lizzie, and Mika (sp?) and saw the prison burn felt sloppy and too convenient on how it was written and executed. B/c we knew (as an audience) that Rick banished her from the prison. It was confusing how she knew the prison was gone, but now it makes more sense b/c of that flashback. It was always a nitpick I had about that situation.

Also this episode confirms that Beth wasn't rescued by those cops from the Grady Memorial Hospital. Judging how they operated, when those maniacs ran over and abducted Carol like that. Gorman’s story on how “they” saved Beth was full of holes. He claimed that a walker was coming at her thigh and he saved her, but how come Beth doesn’t remember what happened? How come she woke up in a hospital with a cast on her arm and with a cut above her cheek? Which also meant she was unconscious when it happen, but how? Gorman was lying about the walkers that attacked Beth b/c when Daryl was chasing the car (with Beth inside) there weren’t any walkers in sight but just Beth ‘s belongings on the ground. So those psycho cops might’ve attacked Beth similarly but not as severely as they did Carol.

I hope Carol pulls through but I have a feeling she won’t. Plus she already suffered what looks like a bad chest injury from that gravity defying van landing. I hope Rick makes those lunatics with badges pay for that.

I never found it confusing at all. I had always assumed it took her an hour after Rick told her to hit the road to say to herself, "F*** that," and decide to go back anyway.

But I guess the way they did it in last night's episode works too.

Stupid DVR shut off early, can someone fill me in on the last few minutes? I saw Carol get hit by the station wagon and the cops load her onto the stretcher, then *poof*

Carol has run her course on the show folks.

:argh:

Noah convinced Daryl not to chase them, since they’d be captured. He said the hospital people were armed, and Daryl said his group was too (at which point, I yelled, “Oh, it is ON!” while watching this last night). It ended with Daryl and Noah in a truck headed back to the church. So that confirms that it’s Noah that Daryl was with when he came back a few weeks ago.

Wow...I didn’t catch the tank when I watched it last night.

I miss edit too but I recognized other areas. :) It's cool how they show the steady decay.

It was an ok episode. Felt more like filler. Because Carol and Daryl are such great characters the episode was watchable without being overly boring like last week's.

I just hope things step up a bit now.
