"I don't beleive it!"
I look behind be.
Blue Beetle.
Wonderful.
"The Question, scourge of Hub City's underworld, faceless avenger of justice, is none other than Vic Sage, the famous (and slightly infamous) reporter for K.B.E.L. news! Ha!"
"Hello, Ted."
He sits next to me on the ledge.
"Then again, it's not too much of a surprise. I mean, you're both cynical opiniated bastards. I dunno. Vic seems to have more social skills, so mabey that's why I disn't see the connection. I mean, it's not like Vic has particularly good social skills, but they're better than The Question's."
"Would you please stop talking to me like I'm not me?"
"Sorry."
"So, how is it that you're not unified?"
"Oh, I could tell you stories of ancient cults and Deadman spirits."
"You're joking."
"Obviously. Basically, I followed some of the zombies, nearky got killed, and spent the rest of the day hovering over the city in The Bug. You?"
"I was with Batman when it started. Tagged along with the League."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"So, we know what the deal is with all the zombies?"
"Borg wannabe invading Earth."
"Figures. They got a plan?"
"Superman's building some machine that will scramble the mind control frequency."
"Why didn't they call me? I mean, I'm an inventor."
"Because no one likes you."
"Who doesn't like me?!"
"I don't like you."
"You don't like anyone."
"No, that's Batman. I just don't like you."
"Fine. Whatever."
He stands up and walks towards the rope leading up to The Bug.
"Did you patrol the projects?"
He turns back.
"Yeah. Nasty part of town."
"I know. I grew up there."
"Really? Man, that must've been rough."
"Like you would know, rich boy."
"I'm not that rich."
"You ride around in a giant metal beetle that defies gravity."
".....whatever. Anyway, want a ride home?"
"I'll just stay here for a while."
"Fine. But when you do get home, I suggest taking a shower. 'Bye."
He grabs onto the rope and raises up into The Bug. As he does, I can hear him mutter to himself.
"Heh. Vic Sage."
I watch him enter The Bug and fly off.
Good lord that man gets on my nerves.
