I agree with those who are saying that IF we go with the DCU "reboot" that we give them a month or two so we know what is going on.

Yeah. I think we rushed the Marvel reboot, and didn't have time to really think out the continuity. Everyone was arguing about what to do until the GMs had to finally put their foot down.

I wouldn't mind testing the waters for the new DCU before making a final decision.

But my vote still goes towards a Post-Brightest Day/Pre-Flashpoint cutoff.

I'm really and honestly ashamed of myself for leaving Superman out to dry like that. Twice.

The big problem I keep running into is that I know exactly where I want to go with Supes to finish things up, but most of what I wanted to do would be towards the end of the season, and I'd just be padding for time until then. So even if I do re-app, I'm afraid that I'd just do a couple more posts of basically twiddling my thumbs before losing motivation again.

So I was wondering...

What does everyone feel about wrapping this season up by August 1st?

Can we do it?

I have one big, final arc I want to do with Batman and I'm pretty sure I can hammer it out by August. I just want to make sure everyone else can.

My thought on this is that if we end it by Aug. 1, then we can spend the next month getting everything ready and hammering out the continuity for the relaunch in September. Try to align it with the new DC relaunch and maybe catch the eyes of some curious folks.

It's fine with me. I had things planted that was going to lead to a huge DCU-Magic Contained event with Aquaman after this Fisherman stuff but...I think I just want to end the Fisherman arc and conclude my work with him.

I'm not terribly against it, but why not August 7th? Since the announced date of the first new #1 issues from the relaunch is September 7th, and all. Gives us another week to wrap things up in the game if it's needed, unless we'd just want to use that week for the final WOH: Volume 1 awards.

I thought it was made clear that there'd be a gap. Infact, that's what I thought you had all agreed on.

I certainly agree, but we'd be better off safe than sorry. Hell, maybe some elements could still be used in some characters' backstories - though certainly not the costumes of the X-Treme Titans.

But I still want to give them a couple of issues to see where they're going with things.

I have played one game, a Marvel based one, when Darkest Reign came out and they tried to follow it. Personally, I didn't care for it due to the characters I picked were in flux. However, I'm up for the reboot to go along with the DCnU but would like to see where it is going. I think we've seen only 1\4 of the #1 solicits so far with a few major ones like JSA have yet to show up.

I was just listening to a podcast where they said DC had been kicking around the reboot for 5 years. And it was supposed to happen during Final Crisis, but the ending was rewritten because they decided not to.

Been listening to their latest episode and the guys seem overall cool but...for the most part come across as idiots. I think they'd benefit from having at least 1 person who is the "DC expert, Marvel expert, etc". Because right now when I listen to them I like some of what they say but it also makes me wonder "are these guys who read comics or people who like comicbook characters critiquing stuff?".

Iono...just maybe if they weren't allowed as much freedom as they clearly are allowed I'd enjoy their input more. Some un-needed ways to express their opinions is all.

They just recently started back up, but I enjoy listening to the IGN comics podcast. It seems a lot better than their previous comics podcast series. Guys actually seem to know what they're talking about this go around.

I also listen to Comicvine's podcast every now and then, but I gave up on them about ten months ago when they had James Robinson, of all people, on and proceeded to kiss his ass for an hour and a half.

Yea, I saw that IGN brought back the comic podcast after wieg made the post about the Project Fanboy one heh. I like IGN's podcasts that I listen to so I'm not surprised I enjoyed the latest comic one.
