What? You don't like the massive ads that scroll up from the bottom like some demonic presense and take over your entire screen?

Especially the ones advertising Transformers 3 on Blu-Ray?

And that is a wrap on Batman. I really enjoyed playing him over the past few years. Didn't do all I wanted to do, but I enjoyed it while I had the role.

Alrighty. Today is the day, WoH's last day.

Deadline to wrap up your arcs is 12 AM EST/9 PM PST tonight.

While I was never really involved much with the game, it's crazy to think the game is over. It and OU are the only two games that have been alive the entire time I've been here.

Same here.

Throughout the years, the one constant has been WoH. The hype and RPGs have rolled on like an army of steamrollers...and games have come and gone, coming and going, but WoH has remained. People will come, Ray.

Uhh, ignore that last part. Forgot to edit it when I stole James Earl Jones' quote from Field of Dreams. :csad:

... So why is it 9 PM PST? Just sayin', why is everything so EST centric? You oppressors! :argh:

Exactly :cmad:

Psh. I don't care. If I can't finish up in time, I'll just finish it in Create a Post.

I'm just throwing ideas at a wall and seeing what sticks... it's going to be EPICNESS!

Expect pink tutus, rainbow colored clouds and babies.

It's EST because I said so. You mother****ers have know this has been coming for sometime. Not my problem you don't work in a timely fashion :cmad:

Here's my sentimental post.

Let's see. Well, it's been a really long time since the WoH started, back in 2004. I remember BnK bothering me to no end about joining so I was a late bloomer. Took me two months. :o
I think I've played all of three characters in this RPG. Dinah, Imra and Hazard. Dinah was a direct result of Supergirl making sure that the first comic I bought was BoP. Imra was from my own interest in LoSH coupled with Johnny's instance. Other than Byrd, Johnny made the best character boyfriend ever. Hazard was me trying to 'mix things up a bit', didn't work out so well, but I learned. :cwink:

I never thought I'd make friends, meet in real life four of you guys :hrt: , had a ton of fun times in game, out of game, via MSN, via AIM, via Facebook :p Never would have happened without that punk BnK.

Byrd you've done a great job being the GM  You're awesome and super squishy on the inside even if you want people to think you're an ass. :cwink: Remember that time I locked myself out of the house? Good times. Moments like that made me realize that not all my friends have to live in close proximity to me (and many don't).

I could go down a list of my favorite arcs and stories I read and participated in,, but it would be long. So I'm just going to say I loved it all! I think our version of DC freakin' rocked and in some instances DC should have stolen more from us. 'cause we're bloody geniuses. I still think Soze should write a Joker comic.

Before I get weepy. I dug up the old, season one posts from the RPGers that are still active in the RPG… so… MST3k, Spike and myself from my guesstimation. So, here are our first *ever* posts in the RPG.

Prepared to be *wowed* by how far we and the RPG has come. I can't wait to see the 'reboot' and the new stories. :)

President Luthor is sitting in the Oval Office at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. He is reviewing notes that he and advisors have made about the Upcomng G8 summit in Switzerland.

"Ladies & Gentlemen I understand your concern. I realize that lately Prime Minister Blair and I have had our share of disagreements and tensions over the failed diplomacy mission that they initated in the Middle East. Those of us in this adminstration should not be faulted for cleaning up his mess. I assure you that Prime Minister Blair and I will be civil towards one another and he realizes that we are the last coutry he should want to cross. I have nothing but the highest respect for him and the people of England. It'll be all-right trust me" He says with a smile. "Now if you all will excuse me I have a meeting with Senators Kipps & Morton about a defense bill that I am very interested in seeing through."

*The staff excues themselves with polite "thank you Mr. President"s and smiles and handshakes. As they exit his personal bodyguard Mercy enters the room*

~"I was listening outside. You almost had me convinced that you weren't the one who sabotaged the British diplomacy mission." ~

He looks at her and smirks, "Yes well I couldn't exactly allow the "graditude" of those countries to be squandered on the British now could I? Anyway Blair knows that he if he tries to oppose me not only will he suffer but so will his entire nation. Find out what other members of the Defense committee we have locked up. Kipps & Morton have been very naughty boys and today they will learn that if they don't want their sins on the front page of the Post they will play ball our way."

~"You know if Superman ever found out about any of this. It wouldn't be pretty for you."

"Oh please right now it must be burning up that alien that he is serving me. Besides I have the wheels in motion that will keep him at bay for many many more years to come."

Vroom VOOOOOMMMMM

A black motorcycle weaved in and out of the traffic of Gotham City. The woman astride the bike seemed to almost smile through her helmet. Her blonde hair escaped from the bottom of her helmet and flitted in the wind. Black boots, leather pants and jacket made it look like she almost merged with the motorcycle. Car horns honked in different tones creating an urban music.
Noting her exit ramp she veered off the Freeway and on too a fairly quiet street beside the freeway.
Dinah slowed her bike to enjoy the familiar street. After traveling half way around the world for a mission it was good to be home.
“Babs better not call me tonight. I’m going to definitely relax. Take a bath, drink champagne.” She smiled. Nice thought. Too bad it wouldn’t happen. She’d be back on the street in 3 hours, or less.
Her smile turned to a grin. Just what she wanted to do. Kick some third class Thugs derrière all the way to Bludhaven. Maybe it would relieve some of the jet lag tension.
“No rest for a weary bird. I just have to remember to order those carnations for the shop.” Turning up the speed she sped down the street. The sound of her cycles engine faded and blended with the car horns.

[OOC] Hope it's good enough..

Thanks for the kind words, twy. I feel the same way. I'll say something more about the RPG tonight when I focus my thoughts and write something more eloquent out. I just want to say, you were a damn good GM and I was a bit apprehensive about taking over for you. And if I at least did the job half as good as you did, I can rest easy.

I'll have my closing thoughts when I'm done writing the end stuff for Supes, but I just wanna say that... I'm going to have a seriously hard time competing with wieg's end stuff, twy's end stuff, Byrd's end stuff, and Soze's end stuff. You guys seriously upped your game to bring your characters to a close (well, almost to a close, in the case of the former two), and I vehemently salute all four of you.

Goddamn that first post rocked.

(oh hai guys.)

I know I haven't been a part of this game for a good while now, but damn if it doesn't hurt to see things disappear after I was first introduced to it almost seven years ago. Man, I can't believe there was once a time where we all didn't use colored text for our characters' dialogue.

Thanks for the vote of confidence but I think you, Wieg, Byrd and Soze all are epically better than my week old idea. Love reading your Superman, ditto for the rest of you guys. It's been an epic last few days. Way to end it with a *bang*

Well, I'm done.

*washes his hands of Sinestro*

Finally finished my time with him. Again. This season was sort of my epilogue, and I'm glad I was a lazy ass and didn't do it the way I wanted. Because I think I like this ending much better than the one I had originally planned.

It's been a fun ride, which is why I'm not sad. Hopefully WoH 2.0 has an equally epic run.

Seven years.

Nine seasons.

Dozens of RPers, some bad, but most incredible.

Countless story arcs and storylines.

15,736 posts.

With that, we close the book on the Hype's most prolific and longest running RPGs. Some of my most fondest memories here on the hype have come in this RPG.

As we say goodbye, I just want to say my thanks to everyone. Thank you, for not only making sure this game held on as long as it could, but also thank you all for welcoming into this RPG when I was just a newbie who applied for Captain Atom.

This is the place where I cut my teeth, this is where I discovered my love for characters like Guy Gardner, Bart Allen, and Green Arrow. In this RPG, I was able to transport myself back to when I was seven and running around my house in a Batman cape, I got to relive that fantasy of being my favorite character for two years. It was in this RPG that I wrote scenes that genuinely scared me, showing me how depraved and sick I could be. You made me a better writer, and a better person.

But more than anything, it was in this RPG that I made friends I like to think I will always keep. From a like-minded Batman fan with an affinity for goats, to a slightly anal retentive Hispanic who may or may not yet have his greencard. To a very special lady who I fought, bicker, and cuss and yell at...and I'll never stop doing that because that's what I love about you...you crazy woman! :cmad:

Thanks to her for being a good writing partner and being foolish enough to relinquish power to me.

Also, a big thanks to MB and Soze, two of the RPers I've worked well with throughout the years, regardless if our characters were working together or against each other, just working alongside the two of you forces me to up my game regularly.

Also, a big, big, big thanks to trusty and wieg. Some folks say I did an alright job as GM, but that's a bunch of ********. I was nowhere without you two. You two always had my back, picking up my slack. If I'm a good GM, then it's all thanks to my Roster ***** and List Nazi.

Finally, thanks to all of you who have a one time participated in this game. At the end of the season, we like to talk about who was that season's MVP, but at the end of this epic nine season run...each and everyone of you out there are this game's MVPs.

It was you who kept the game alive, you who wrote stories and characters so damn good we're slightly convinced DC has poached from this RPG more than once. Without you, there is no players, there is no epic stories, and there is no World of Heroes RPG.

So, my heart goes out to each and everyone of you. You are the heart and soul of this game, you made sure it beat along for as long as it did and for that, I will be forever grateful.

If this new RPG can even be half as successful as WoH's was, I will take it as a immense victory. While I was lucky enough to have a great time here, I was even luckier still because I found more than friends...I found family.

Thank you all, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Byrd

Blah blah blah...

MB, you son of a *****, you can NOT end the game like that. :argh:

:awesome:

Yeah, I know. I suck. I tried to write like a goddamn maniac, but even that wasn't enough to meet the deadline.

Byrd told me that I can edit in a proper ending into my last post, and I intend to do so. But for now, I'm off to have a freaking heart attack. That was one of the most stressful and absolutely mindblowing solo sessions I've ever had.

I poured my heart out, you ****ing weasel. :cmad:

And he's a mod. He said he's going to do modly stuff to wrap up his storyline and edit into that final post.

Oh pft.. you softy. I knew you'd upstage us all. You didn't make me cry! :cmad: YOU DIDN'T!
