The "World's Finest" DC RPG Sign Up/OOC Thread

Now, I have some slack-posting to do!

*checks the IC thread*

You're off to a great start!

Right, I'll give Shlee another day to post, and if she doesn't, I'll just have Batman catch up with Superman and Wonder Woman. It's been nearly a week: I'm itching to do some Bat-posting!

Also, nice choice, Bounce! I had ideas for some Bruce/Damian scenes I was gonna do with an NPC Damian, but it'll be much more fun interacting with another player in the role. Looking forward to RPing with you!

I'm so sorry. I will definitely post. I"m going to try to catch up and maybe post tonight, if I can stay awake that long.

With a ton of hours at my new job, and the news today that one of my really good friends passed away from a major heart attack... I just haven't had the heart to post. I did tell Supergirl today that I needed to catch up and post, and I really do want to.

I"m just.... Not doing very well. Teresa's death hit me super hard. Sorry guys.

I'm sorry to hear that, Shlee! I didn't know. Don't feel pressured to post anything. If you'd prefer, I can come up with something else to do right now, and we can return to the Batman/Catwoman scene when you feel ready. Hope you're holding up okay: thoughts go out to you at this difficult time.

That was an awesome post, Bounce. Really looking forward to getting some interaction between Nightwing and Damian

Another great post, Bounce. Really digging your Damian. I also like that you got his trademark, "Tt," into your post.

....I'm starting to regret dropping Tim. This Bat-Family is awesome. :csad:

LOL

Thanks Keyser, I'm glad that you're enjoying the posts.

And yes, the Bat-Family is awesome. :awesome:

Stop ****ing yourself around and just keep your post in the Flagons thread where it belongs! :cmad:

Why are you allowed to spam up the threads? There is one specific thread for that?

So I could have made a post with my proclaiming my love for Aquaman in this thread and no one would utter a word about it being spam--because we of the Basement always do that sort of thing--but because this act of randomness has a bit more meaning to it now it is dubbed spam?

Interesting. So if you want to get technical then how is this for a reason: the GM of this thread doesn't mind and me being an AGM here I don't mind. Then there's the CAH OOC thread that I posted where I'm an AGM and so far the GM has not said he minded. Over in OU one of the other participants of it is an AGM and the GM of that thread has not minded. Since we treat the Basement and the threads of these games differently, the weight of decisions falls ultimately on the head GMs. If the GM has beef with it, then ok. None have expressed such feelings to me in the 3 times this has been done so far.

But again, it's just interesting that this is counted as spam when random chat that "floods" such threads that do not pertain to the subject of said threads is not. :whatever:

P.S. - Because sometimes people have trouble seeing through the emotion of my posts as usual there is none and I'm not offended. Though I did see it fit to see how if there was any true meaning behind such words because if so then you guys are hypocrites. :awesome:

Make no mistake about it, I hate you posting that **** here.

It's spam because you're making the exact same post in multiple threads advertising something. You know, like those spambots do.

If your username had been something like superb0y001, the posts would have been reported to the mods.

I'm more than aware of that. But I'm not a spam bot. And outside of the most relevant thread, I posted it in 3 other threads. More importantly, 3 OOC threads. 3 threads that I actively partake in in this section.

We here at the Basement are always treated differently luckily compared to the rest of the boards with practically 'governing' ourselves. Heck, I remember a time when Keyser was posting stuff for his site and no one said a thing. It did not bug me but I'm just saying that there is an example.

Bottom line: by all technicalities even aside from previous posts that I've attempted to defend this I'm not breaking a rule. This isn't something that was done in a whim. Keyser, MB, and myself--forget if byrd was there during this chat--all talked and researched about how we could post links about it.

Yes, but when you discussed it with us, I was under the impression that we only needed to know whether it was against the rules to post it in a thread. When you started posting it in multiple ones, it threw me off guard, but I didn't say anything because I figured you'd eventually focus on Flagons after getting the word out about the initial episode. I kind of agree with everyone that posting it multiple places can be kind of annoying to read that same post on a weekly basis.

I don't think that it's spam when people can post things like random GIFs and get away with it, you're right, but I do still think that it's annoying to other people. When the majority consensus has spoken, we should always try and relent to do what's best for the board as a whole.

I didn't have a problem at all with trusty posting it in this OOC thread, and I really don't see how one such post a week on the subject could be a big deal to any of you. The way I see it, this is a community of friends, and for all the pages of small talk and playful bickering that goes into these threads, there was no harm in us sharing personal projects on occasion as well. But when people seriously complain about it being "spam", it's a sobering reminder of what sets apart friends from online acquaintances who aren't really interested in your personal s***.

I think the main complaint is that it's more than enough to post it in D&F since we're all pretty much subscribed to that thread anyway.

And honestly, if my best friend in the whole world kept on reminding me about something over and over, I would want to tell him to shut the **** up.

But I'm an ***hole like that.

Not unreasonable.

And I have done it before. ****ing MB always wanting me to look at that goat porn **** :cmad:
