I didn't have a problem at all with trusty posting it in this OOC thread, and I really don't see how one such post a week on the subject could be a big deal to any of you. The way I see it, this is a community of friends, and for all the pages of small talk and playful bickering that goes into these threads, there was no harm in us sharing personal projects on occasion as well. But when people seriously complain about it being "spam", it's a sobering reminder of what sets apart friends from online acquaintances who aren't really interested in your personal s***.

Seriously? That's where the friend line gets drawn?

I'm the one who keeps telling you all to put the podcast on itunes so we can subscribe and autodownload it. Yeah, a friend supports another friend, a friend also tells them when they're starting to get annoying.

The first week, I was all "Holy hell, they made a podcast?! Cool." It was an exciting initial announcement, you get the leeway.

The second week I was "Oh, you're posting in all the threads again? I mean, thanks for the reminder, but really? You've done the initial announcement."

This week I'm "Guys, it's cool and all. You've got the point across, but we have Flagons for this kind of announcement."


Small talk and bickering is different because it's an actual conversation. This is an advertisement. If anything, the podcast should have it's very own thread in Community so more people hear and talk about it and it's one stop shopping for new episode reminders.

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I loved listening to you guys. Especially since it reminded me of Comic-Con hearing Trusty and Keyser again. But I saw Trusty post in OE, and was like "Hey, awesome is that an app?" Only to open the thread and get a "Hey guys it's that time of week again!" post.

Sorry guys, I probably wrote that out of anger and didn't really think it through. Especially since I've met both wiegeabo and Supergirl in person and would therefore qualify them as real-life friends rather than "online acquaintances". I just felt really bad for trusty, as this is his passion project, and the only reason he's posting it on here is because you are the guys he's most excited about checking it out. I know I'd feel like s**t if I got the news that The Standard was going on sale in US comic stores, and posted it on here (because of course I'd want you guys to know), only to get replies like, "That's off-topic," "SPAM!" and "This should be on the Misc Comics board!"

And this deserves it's own discussion thread. Preferable in the Community forum where lots of people might see it and get the Basement some more attention.

Aside from us not being sure if we would be allowed to make a thread in the community section, as Soze mentions I was clearly more comfortable doing such in the Basement here for what I'm hoping are obvious reasons. Plus then of course we are so "young" in this the a-holes in the community section makes me weary til we get more experience. Here I could take any criticism people might give way better.
