I missed that...what happened?
Jericho was supposed to face Duggan on Raw but came out wearing a suit and refused to wrestle Duggan because he wasn't in his league, basically...It was awesome. :hehe:

It's on youtube.

I'm curious, does Duggan do any kind of work back stage as an agent or something? Seems to me like that would be a good role for him, rather than still participating in the ring.

As much as I like Duggan it really looks like he hasn't showered since 1999. I wonder what his make over will look like thanks to Cryme Tyme

-- WWE.com has an article asking why Deuce would choose now to reveal his father as WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and begin going by his "real name," Sim Snuka. The article notes the presence of Cody Rhodes & Manu at ringside for his match last night on Raw, who are also sons of WWE Hall of Famers, not to mention second generation wrestlers. The article teases Sim Snuka and other wrestlers with squared circle lineage possibly joining Randy Orton's "Legacy" group. It reads: "Possibly even more troublesome, however, is the existence of even more Superstars with squared circle lineage
. Who could possibly stand against this already fearsome group if they were to bring WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo or even the submission technician Natalya into the fold?" It appears that Sim Snuka has an actual storyline, and his match with Rey Mysterio on Raw last night wasn't just another random appearance on his part. The article teases Sim Snuka's "motivations" as well as the intentions of "The Legacy" to be revealed in the coming weeks on Raw. You can read their article on Sim Snuka at the following link.

-- WWE.com has announced the main event for tonight's edition of ECW on Sci. WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison with "The All-American American" Jack Swagger go to battle with Kofi Kingston, CM Punk & Ricky Ortiz on tonight's show.

-- As reported earlier, last Friday's edition of SmackDown drew a 2.0 rating. In comparison, The CW's Friday night lineup of episodes of Everybody Hates Chris and The Game averaged an anemic rating of 0.9, reports www.f4wonline.com.

I just don't understand why he didn't use the Snuka name from the beginning...

SmackDown: (Airing Friday)

* SmackDown starts off with the new WWE Champion Jeff Hardy being introduced. He comes out to a huge pop with a spectacular pyro and confetti. He talks about finally being champion. Edge comes out to interrupt. He tells Jeff it takes more than just a day or two to be a true champion and that he stole the title from him. Edge then says Vickie has announced two matches for tonight: Matt Hardy vs. Edge and Jeff Hardy vs. Vladimir Kozlov.

Jeff then asks Edge if he's done and hits Twist of Fate.

* Hurricane Helms & R-Truth b. Shelton Benjamin & MVP
- Helms get the win via pinfall on Shelton.

* John Morrison b. Festus
- Morrison gets the win the moonlight drive after The Miz hit Jesse with the bell making Festus comatose again.

* Matt Hardy cuts a promo backstage before his match with Edge. He's receiving a huge pop from the live audience.

* Edge b. Matt Hardy
- Hardy comes out to a huge pop while Edge comes out to big heat. Edge gets the clean win after hitting Hardy with a spear.

* Ezekiel Jackson b. Carlito
- Ezekiel gets the win via pinfall. Both The Brian Kendrick and Primo Colon are at ringside during the match.

* Maryse b. Maria
- The winner will get a future match for the Divas Championship. Michelle McCool is at ringside. Maria slaps Maryse to start the match. Maryse gets the win via pinfall after hitting a DDT. She taunts Michelle who is sitting with Jim Ross and Tazz.

* Ken Kennedy promo with MVP promoting his Behind Enemy Lines DVD movie.

* The Great Khali is interviewed. Rajin Singh says Mae Young is Khali's soul mate. Khali smiles.

* The main event is up next. Vladimiz Kozlov comes out to big heat while Jeff Hardy comes out to another huge pop.

* WWE Champion Jeff Hardy b. Vladimir Kozlov
- Hardy gets the win after Edge interferes. Kozlov and Edge double team Hardy until Triple H comes to the rescue. Kozlov runs away when Hunter gets his the sledge hammer. This concludes SmackDown.

Gregory Helms will probably be the next United States Champion. And another triple threat at the Royal Rumble?

The ECW Main event was okay. Could have replaced Ricky "Future Endeavored" Ortiz with Tommy Dreamer though.

-- Lance Cade broke his silence on on his departure from World Wrestling Entertainment in an interview with World Wrestling Insanity this past week. If you recall, SmackDown play-by-play man Jim Ross told the world on his blog that the former WWE Tag Team Champion was released after having a "seizure" during a flight. Cade commented on J.R.'s blog post during the interview. "Well, as far as the release goes, I'm going to flat out admit there's no one else to blame for what happened but Lance Cade. And there's only one person who has to deal with that right now and that's Lance Cade. Even more important than Lance Cade is his family. So, you know, what happened was my mistake, Cade said. "I wasn't so much upset that, they could have just released me and not said anything. You know what I mean? But J.R.'s cryptic blog, it surprised me a little bit. I wasn't happy about it. But, J.R.'s got a job. He's gotta do what he's gotta do. I understand there had to be some business reason behind it, so I saw it the next day, I put it in the back of my head, you know?" Cade wants the fans to know that he takes responsibility for what happened that led to his release. "If I were WWE, I would have fired me too," Cade said. However, he wanted fans to know that he never once received a Wellness Violation – even for marijuana - which he believes is a silly reason for a violation anyway. Cade said his record was clean until the day he was let go. To listen to the interview in its entirety, visit www.WorldWrestlingInsanity.com.

-- Frank Trigg recently conducted an interview with the one and only Ric Flair for his Tagg Radio radio show. You can see a video of the interview at the following link.

-- Former WCW/WWF star Mr. Hughes is promoting shows featuring students of his wrestling school every Wednesday night in Atlanta, Georgia at 375 Commerce Drive, reports ProWrestling.NET. The building is located behind Club Wax Strip Club and admission is free.

Sigged.:hehe:

And I completely agree about Jericho. His promos have been consistently fantastic, and, like DX wisely stated, most of what he says is true. The best stories are always grounded in reality, and Jericho is very good at adding realism to an unrealistic medium.:word:

The Figure Four weekly newsletter is reporting that Gene Snitsky actually had his teeth permanently dyed yellow for the gimmick he was working in WWE. Most knew his teeth were in fact dyed, but it comes as a surprise to many that it was a permanent move.

- The decision to give Jeff Hardy the WWE Championship belt took place during a creative team meeting two weeks before the pay-per-view match at Armageddon. Vince McMahon first brought up the idea, which caught most of the creative team by surprise.

Ever since Rob Van Dam’s drug possession arrest in July 2006 (who held two major title belts at the time) and all the drug related suspensions of September 2007, McMahon said they could never put a major title on someone who was at a high risk of being suspended because all of the creative team’s major storyline plans would have to be overhauled not to mention that it would set a bad example.

At the creative team meeting two weeks ago, Stephanie McMahon was the only one to challenge Vince’s idea of giving Jeff Hardy the WWE Championship, bringing up his own doctrine of a wrestler at a high risk of getting suspended receiving a major belt setting a bad example to the talent. Vince acknowledged the doctrine, but said in the short-term, his plan could work if Jeff handled the opportunity properly.

With WWE’s rule of publicly releasing names of talent who fail drug tests putting enough pressure on them as it is, strapping the title on Hardy isn’t going to make people say that they can fail a test with no punishment.

If somehow there is a relapse on Hardy’s part before his title run comes to an end, McMahon made it clear he’s immediately dropping the title as a failed drug test would of course mean the termination of their world champion because it’s would be Jeff’s third strike. McMahon said Hardy getting fired while champion would send the ultimate message to the locker room.

Did Snitsky think he'd be playing the same character forever?

Jeebus. Couldn't Snitsky just start drinking coffee? Munching on lemon-flavored candy before the show or something?

Surprised to know it was Vince who batted for Jeff to be champion, and I can't disagree about the "ultimate message".

Maybe I'm just being cynical, but while reading that part of me wondered if Vince hopes Jeff screws up so he can set that example.

At the same time, it would be seen as poor judgment on his part.

It could be, as well as taking advantage of the crowd reaction he's been getting. Vince could be looking at this as a win-win. Either the show does well with Hardy as the headliner, or he screws up and becomes the ultimate message to everyone that no matter how high up you are, you're still expendable.

True, I think Nexy sums it up perfectly.

He thought that if he did that crap to his teeth that WWE would realize how much "passion" and "determination" he has to the role. I imagine he wont be going into any job that involves one on one customer interaction or even being seen by paying customers
