Lawler hasn't been a credible commentator for quite sometime. How I miss the old classic days when Lawler was a heel and JR was a neutral/pro-face voice of reason. Nowadays it's just so bland and you can tell Lawler and Cole have no chemistry.

Vince needs to go back to the days when there was a heel commentator and a neutral commentator that played well off each other.

I also don't think Lawler and Cole work well together. They ruined the finish of Kofi's match by not acknoweldging his finisher by name or the fact that it even happened. I enjoy it when commentators come off a guys who don't ming poking fun at themselves or each other. Matt Striker and Todd Grisham were a good combo. I was recently watching the Smackdown vs Raw Survivor Series match from 2005 (no, nothing to do with the video game) and the commentating was hilarious.

Aww the good old days of JR and The King :oldrazz:

So many great lines came out of that team up. Does everyone remember when King first coined the term "puppies"? So many good memories from those two.

I miss when announcers treated wrestling like wrestling. When the talent were called wrestlers instead of stars or superstars. When they said, "The audience is chanting his name", rather than "The WWE universe is chanting". Hell, just take last night, Cole says, "Ooooh a suplex", and then JR says, "Yes, a hellacious Belly to Belly suplex" or something to that effect. It's like their not supposed to even call move names anymore. It's annoying when everything on the ground is called a suplex and anything off the top rope is just refered to as coming off the top rope.

BTW, haven't watched RAW yet, but that was because I was watching last night's PPV first. It was a good one too, outside of Taker vs. HBK, I liked last night's PPV better than WM. Loved when ppl chanted "Hey, hey, hey, goodbye" to HHH :).

Just when I thought we were free from HHH we have Shane picking up for Trips by burying Orton. Why don't you go back behind the desk were you belong Shane and leave wrestling to talented people you *****ebag? I see our Lord and savior Cena survived Backlash. Why isn't there a religion created to praise this man?

At NYR in '06, Edge cashes in MITB on Cena and the majority of the crowd pops. After 3 years of force feeding Cena to the crowd, most of them were still behind Edge last at Backlash. Time to change game plans, Vinny Mac.The experiment didn't work.

Amazing stuff...

First, eight years ago, Stone Cold uses a crane to raise a car while Triple H is inside, flips and drops it the ground in an assault that should've either killed Triple H or put him out for a year. Barely three weeks later, Triple H returns completely healed.

Yet Austin gets run over by Rikishi and is gone for ten months. :funny:

JBL rams Cena with a car. Cena returns six days later nearly unscathed.

Jericho smashes HBK into the Jerichotron. HBK's out for what a month or two?

Orton punts Batista in the head and he's out for several months, also because of additional injuries.

Orton punts Vince and Shane, and both of them return one to two months later.

Big Show chokeslams Cena through what was it...a skylight? An injury that should've put Cena out for months. Last night he returns staggering, maybe disoriented...and that's it.

The media should be all over these quick recoveries, examining everyone for "extra" medical attention. Why isn't the Wellness policy on this? These healing rates are amazing. What's WWE's secret, and why aren't they sharing with the rest of us? :funny:

I do too. I remember one match when someone went for a pin, and JR acted excited over it. "Hey there's a half-nelson! A three quarters nelson...and a nearfall!"

JR during the final Flair/Steamboat in 1989 - "This is the NWA, where we wrestle!"

Matt Striker cites move names still, and JR squeezes it in. Lawler and Cole are just embarrassing.

That's hilarious. I love Triple H is gonna be out for months after a kick to the head, and Cena shows up one night after getting chokeslam through the bat signal.

Even without Burials, Raw will still be awful, thanks to a midget, a cross dresser and John Cena.

Alright, ordered the Backlash repeat yesterday, and here's my thoughts.

ECW Championship Match: Jack Swagger vs. Christian
-Great match. Loved the ending (especially Christian trying to cover up the turnbuckle while celebrating.)

Edge and Christian interaction= awesome.

Chris Jericho vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
-Again, great match. I'd go so far as to say that Steamboat looked better than Flair for the last few years. Really hoping the win pushes Jericho into another big storyline.

Kane vs. CM Punk
-Good match, but I was confused. I could've sworn the Money in the Bank was going to be on the line.

I Quit Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy
-Hype video was great. Match had some great moves, and I was really surprised when Jeff tied Matt up. Table spot didn't look too great though.

I've read a lot of hate on the Net about the Santina/Khali segment, but I'll admit it... I laughed my ass off. Santino/Santina is friggin' hilarious. I'm officially changing my custom title to "Little Slobberknocker." I laughed hardest at Santina/Santino's random "I'm Pretty!" at Beth. JR seemed genuinely pissed off.

WWE Championship Match: Triple H, Batista, and Shane McMahon vs. the Legacy
-I wasn't too excited about this one, but I enjoyed the hell out of this match. From start to finish, it was great. When Randy won, I marked out like a little girl.

Audience singing= Awesome, Part II.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: John Cena vs. Edge
-This match meant a lot to me personally. I started watching wrestling around New Year's Revolution 2006, so I've seen Edge/Cena since the beginning, and it's great to see how they've grown as performers over the past three years. Outstanding match.

Edge and Cena's moment before the bell rang= Awesome, Part III.

Solid PPV, followed by a weak RAW. But when Shane started caning the crap out of Randy, I got the giggles. When they camera cut to the Legacy running out with chairs, I had to pause the TV, I was laughing so hard.

:lmao:

In all seriousness, it is ridiculous. I mean, he also got a conchairto on the stage. And yet, through ALL of that...he's fine. (Not even the Undertaker, during the height of the 'demon/supernatural stuff' would have been back the very next night!)

Yeah, but he slightly staggered around and seamlessly alternated between a facial countenance of a sheepish grin and burning intensity. It was magical.

Did the show really need to end with about 3 minutes of switching between that and Big Show screaming like an invalid?

Hunter, what are you talking about? Long term booking, wrestling 101...these Creative guys are writers, not bookers. They don't get how wrestling works. Haven't you figured out by now? :funny::csad:

I know, I'm a mark for hope. :(

I can't believe how fast they pissed away the good work done at Backlash. Randy and MVP kicked the show off great and were having a very good match, the seeds were planted for a title program down the road after MVP worked US title programs with Dibiase and Rhodes....BUT in the blinjk of an eye the billionaires baby butterball showed up and put himself over like Stone Cold.........MVP was never mentioned again.

Then we have Cena/Show, this had all the makings of a classic face vs monster heel feud, what Show did to him looked devastating, all they had to do was keep Show monstrous for a couple of months and have Cena return six weeks before Summerslam to put the build into overdrive, from here you could have things like Cena arriving in his muscle car and the Big Show smashing it up with his bare hands and tipping it on it's side with Cena still in it........all this leads to the showdown at Summerslam and easy money.

I'm tired of Legacy getting buried by the likes of Shane McMahon! :cmad:
