The Wrestling Thread generates more income than Darren Young - Part 76

Somebody mentioned Dolph losing his MITB title shot, ditching Vickie because of it, and turning face. While it would be a waste of a briefcase, I really like the idea. Better him winning the world title as a face straight up than winning it as a heel in cheap fashion with the tiresome Edge tactic.

Flair as RAW GM?? wasn't he that many eons ago??

Yeah, but it ended sh**ty after a nonsensical heel turn to be buddies with Vince despite having just feuded with him.

also, ending the streak would do nothing (positive) for Cena.

Guaranteed heel turn. Bragging rights to cement his legacy.

There's a bunch of people on here who were pissed that The Rock didn't lose to Cena because Cena needed the rub from him. Well, Cena gets a bigger rub from beating Undertaker than beating Rock.

Worst idea ever.

Cena has it all, more titles than he needs/deserves.

Which is why Cena is the only one credible enough to go over. There is nobody else on the roster aside from The Rock who would be believable enough to defeat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

Although if they want to push a new guy, Sheamus is the best of the bunch to pull the trigger on. Even I agree he would have more to gain from 20-1 than Cena would.

Taker should get to 20 and then retire .. leave his streak intact thats his legacy.

I agree, but once HBK challenged him again, The Streak lost its wonder because now Undertaker was just fighting the same people again instead of 20 different opponents. While its a cool accolade to have, it doesn't benefit anyone for The Streak to be kept.

The day The Undertaker no longer go, that's when it should end. What better way for his career to come to a close?

Bah. I can't stand Sheamus. I'd never forgive WWE if they let him defeat Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

I would've accepted Orton or Edge taking the streak back in the day.
But I won't get back into this discussion, I've pretty much said my peace on the matter :)

You know what this thread needs? 40 hours of Kenta Kobashi.

I would love to see Sami Callihan on WWE or TNA, but he'd be completely wasted in the 'E. He became awesome to watch once he found a direction.

Hell, at shows I was going to here, he had no theme music so he came out screaming into a mic and telling us it was his theme music. Friggin' hilarious.

:funny: Here's an idea: this isn't suitable for a badass like Callihan, obviously, but the next time the WWE wants a lame heel wrestler to get over (like the next Heath Slater), they should have a guy go to the ring badly singing his own theme music a capella, with very trite and self referential lyrics like the Gary Shandling show. Like the following:

I, am, singing Pink Ranger's, theme music. This, is, the music, that plays when I walk to the r-i-i-i-ng. It, also, plays, after I win a m-a-a-atch. And, sometimes, if I do a run-in, on somebody else. But, not, always, if I want it to be a surpr-i-i-i-ise ...

If Brock doesn't interfere in the Punk/Ryback match then I'm thinking someone like Big Show or another big guy will. That'll keep Ryback undefeated and looking credible and Punk will keep the title. Ryback will move on to feud with whoever interferes with the match and be able to grow and Punk will get a bodyguard.

It could be Big Show as local advertisements is calling for Ryback and Big Show to lead the 10-man tag team elimination style match for Survivor Series.

While things can always change, local advertisements for WWE's Survivor Series PPV, which takes place on November 18th in Indianapolis, Indiana, are listing CM Punk (c) vs John Cena for the WWE Championship.

Also of note, advertisements have been updated from listing a traditional 10 man elimination tag team match to noting now that team captains for the bout will be Ryback and Big Show.

Again, WWE could very well have changed its plans in the past week or so, but the advertisement of Ryback and Big Show for the elimination tag team match could be an indication that CM Punk will retain his WWE Title at Hell in a Cell on Sunday night.

Yeah, if Big Show and Ryback are going to war at Survivor Series, then it stands to reason that Show will do something at HIAC that will cause Ryback to not win the title.

Hahahaha EPIC.

I'm thinking the same way.

Maybe Big Show is upset because he lost to Sheamus, and decides that if he can't be a world champion then Ryback won't be one either.

Hehe, this is the WWE. Big Show and Ryback are just going to accidentally bump shoulders back stage, and that's going to be enough to fuel a feud through to Wrestlemania.

- WWE Diva Rosa Mendes turns 33 years old today while ECW Original 2 Cold Scorpio turns 47 and Perry Saturn turns 46.

- A WWE source says we may not have seen the last of Dr. Shelby. Apparently he may pop up in the near future with Kane and Daniel Bryan.

- It's said that the relationship between Rey Mysterio and WWE officials is strong right now. WWE has given Rey a lighter live event schedule because of his knees and they are happy because they know he has been helping out Sin Cara a lot.

Regarding Cara's status, he has turned around in a lot of people's eyes since being put with Mysterio. People now see him working hard as trying to adapt to the American style of wrestling.

- The basic framework on the AJ Lee angle on Monday's RAW where she was removed as General Manager was scripted months ago. The angle was set to happen before this past week but was delayed.

There's a feeling that AJ will shine more now that she's out of the General Manager role.

Talk had been that this would lead to Ric Flair coming in and he is expected to return at this coming Monday's RAW from Charlotte, North Carolina but that has not been confirmed yet. Word from WWE at the beginning of the week was that they would not touch Flair until they got the okay that it wouldn't hurt them in the lawsuit from TNA. They may have gotten that word already if Flair is returning next week. Some people were surprised about WWE holding off on Flair for this long, saying the old Vince McMahon would have done what he wanted and not cared.

- We noted before that Mickie James filmed a music video for her single "Somebody's Gonna Pay" at The Red Rooster bar in Nashville on Wednesday. Trish Stratus revealed on Twitter that she took part in the video shoot with Mickie. The two fought each other in a bar scene, picking back up on their infamous WWE feud. TNA wrestler Magnus, who is Mickie's real life boyfriend, also appears in the video. Trish revealed on Twitter that she hung out with Jeff Jarrett, who stopped by the shoot. Dixie Carter was also there but apparently at a different time than Trish.

- Here are some recent WWE attendance figures:

* SmackDown on October 18th in Cairo, Egypt drew 5,000 fans for $300,000
* RAW on October 19th in Trenton, NJ drew 6,500 fans for $200,000
* SmackDown on October 19th in Cairo, Egypt drew 9,000 fans for $650,000
* RAW on October 20th in Reading, PA drew 5,000 fans for $160,000
* SmackDown on October 20th in Cairo, Egypt drew 6,500 fans for $300,000
* RAW on October 21st in Hartford, CT drew 6,000 fans for $150,000

- Goldust continues to ask fans for their support in getting WWE to book a Goldust vs. Cody Rhodes match at WrestleMania 29. Now he is campaigning for Dusty Rhodes to be the special referee.

- WWE's Saturday Morning Slam drew it's biggest audience to date on October 13th with an 0.8 rating and 1.24 million viewers. This is considered a major success for a Saturday morning program. That episode was highlighted by Sin Cara vs. Jinder Mahal and Justin Gabriel vs. The Miz.

This Ryback/Big Show feud is going to be hilarious. I don't buy Ryback knocking out Show with a Meat Hook clothesline or picking him up for Shell Shock, and he can't do a Backpack Stunner or Powerbomb on Show either. Ryback seems like he has no moves to beat Big Show.

damn i was hoping for hell in a cell to end with show winning and zigggler trolling him by cashing in right after

Vickie's role is only temporary until they are able to sign Ric Flair.

I don't see that Goldust match happening , let alone Wrestlemania. It was a good idea but they passed it up too many times.

That would be sad but also really funny.

Mark Henry is expect to return soon. He's lost some weight recently.

I would have never guessed that one day I'd be excited to hear Mark Henry is returning.

Where are Taz and Tenay on Impact tonight?

Aries is killing me with the Hogan jokes

Kaz and Daniels are continuing the trend. Hogans acting career is really taking a beating tonight. Miss Back End? LOL. Indeed.

RVD showed he still has something on the tank and they are using him exactly the way he should be: working with young talent and beefing up the midcard. Why can't WWE do this more?

A) Who in the BLUE HELL is Todd Hennaman or whatever his name is???

B) Did I just hear a director say "cut" as they went to commercial?

I can't believe TNA actually had the guts to bring Brooke Hogan out in front of a live crowd

I agree with what Hunter said a few days ago. Nice to see Joe being rebuilt.

The Rock is the biggest WWE Superstar in history. He crossed over into Hollywood and and became a bigger star succeeding where Hogan and Piper left off. Despite hardly having a track record of refusing to do jobs, the hate for Dwayne Johnson on wrestling boards such as this ever since he came back is just baffling.

Bullsh**. I know you're a mark for the guy but just because you keep pushing this notion that hollywood stardom makes him the biggest WWE star...it doesn't make it true.

If Hollywood stardom translated to him being the biggest WWE star we'd be seeing FAR more of an impact thanks to his return but all those so called movie fans damn sure didn't double or triple the Survivor Series or Mania buyrates or the tv ratings. Thats why your claim does not compute. he is by far the most sucessful guy when it comes to a career OUTSIDE of wrestling but he's not the biggest WRESTLING star.

Hogan put more asses in seats, drew for longer, was a top star for TWO different companies. Who had the biggest tv ratings in WWE? Hogan. His top rating was three times larger than the biggest ratings pop Rock ever had. On sheer name recognition as many people STILL know Hogan as they do the Rock and Hogans an old man now. But his name is ingrained in pop culture.

Austin could also claim to be a bigger WWE star than Rock. Rock followed on the path Austin walked. All his sucess came after Austins and partly through working WITH Austin to get the rub. It was Austin that led the way in turning WWE around.

That would be an awesome match!
