Great promo from Punk and Taker brought the intensity in his attack and desperation to get the urn back.

Andre was on the way out just as Undertaker was on the way in. Its a shame The Undertaker never got to face Andre at all but especially Andre in his prime. You're right since Taker essentially took Andre's old role. There have been men closer to Andres size like Show and Khali but only Taker has awed people the way Andre did.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, Taker sort of followed Andre as the ultra protected special attraction that was the support main event to the WWF champion.

Now THAT is a great idea. Savage passing the torch to Bret at WMX would have been a more fitting last Mania match for Savage and a great way to put Bret over

Apparently both Bret and Savage wanted to have a match in that time period but Vince didn't want to use Randy in the ring anymore, in hindsight I am sure he realizes he could have utilized him in the same way Shawn was used in his second run. Bret vs Savage at Mania X would have been the ideal way to transition into the New Generation era.
