The Wrestling Thread has much larger nipples

Asuka's twitter game is next level.
I love Asuka, still my favourite women's wrestler. So endlessly positive with the stuff she's given and to bring it home she seems honestly hilarious with similar hobbies to me. Well...hobbies I wish I had. :P

There has been a ton of speculation about a potentially major signing for WWE over the past few weeks. They have been courting the Olympic gold medal winning amatuer wrestler, Gable Steveson, and even flew him in to be featured in a quick segment on Summerslam. When his brother was announced to have signed with WWE NXT, many assumed Gable would be close behind, and pen has finally been put to paper.

Gable Steveson Signs With WWE
This news was first confirmed by Figure Four Online, who caught wind that when Gable Steveson tweeted “Just put pen to paper.” earlier on Saturday, it was to do with a WWE deal. He was in talks with Vince McMahon himself, and also UFC owner Dana White. However, Vince got to talk in person, which certainly might have helped push Gable in the direction of WWE.

There is still a chance he seeks out a dual career in MMA & Pro Wrestling, and certainly has the base to succeed in both, but WWE seems to be the focus starting out. Gable Steveson will likely have to start on the NXT brand, perhaps as one of it’s premiere stars as it enters a new era very soon. He’s a young and very promising athlete, and potentially the ‘Wrestlemania main eventer’ type they are looking for with their new approach to NXT.

Wanting To Be The Next Kurt Angle
Gable Steveson has been pretty vocal on Twitter about his love for WWE, claiming that he wants to be the next Kurt Angle. That would mean having to top the greatest rookie year in professional wrestling to start out. Angle is a high bar to reach, but the background is certainly there to get Steveson to this level.

We could at the very least see him and his brother Bobby Steveson fill the American Alpha shaped void in WWE. Having Chad Gable be their mentor into the world of WWE would give him something interesting to do again. There is some great potential here, and Gable Steveson could be one of the names WWE has main eventing in a few years.

Considering the rumors of NXT cuts and no more catering, WWE is asking people to leave. They are getting their wish. I like the little things with AEW. Paying for music, pyro, how they use Sting, letting people actual wrestling. Everyone looks happy in AEW. At the very least, the majority.

Now they have some legit stars.

What a ****ing night for professional wrestling. What a great show. And those debuts. So glad I have AEW to watch because I gave up on WWE a few years ago, and rightfully so I must say.

A man who's WWE name rhymes with Strawn Browman might be next.

That would suck. :funny:

Agreed. Now if only we could only see the likes Keith Lee, Ricochet, Angel Garza, and Kevin Owens make that jump over to AEW as well.

AEW needs a second show. A proper one. Rampage is too short. Fans will expect to see Punk, Bryan, Mox, Cole, Omega, Sting, the Bucks, Darby, Hangman and Jungle Boy every week. There will somehow be less time for the women still.

I do love that there is no need for Cody. :hehe:

A little under a year ago NXT was getting the main brand push with Adam Cole vs. Daniel Bryan on the main event of Smackdown, now both guys are in AEW and NXT is getting gutted like a fish while Triple H loses more and more autonomy over it within WWE. What a difference a year can make.

Smackdown has been pretty darn good for the last year. Sadly the draft is probably about to ruin it.

AEW exceeded my expectations. Absolutely killer PPV.

Luchabros vs Youngbucks was the best for me. Punk vs Darby was great. Omega vs Christian was solid (from what I saw, my satellite went out) and man seeing Bryan Danielson & Adam Cole was sick!! What a way to end the PPV.

Wasn't that like 2 years ago? Before the pandemic, before the 2019 Survivor Series, when everyone got stuck in Saudi Arabia? Or am I completely wrong?

Glad to see the positive reviews for AEW’s pay per view.

If Bray Wyatt shows up at their Queens taping for Dynamite later in the month, they can really form Voltron then.
