The Wrestling Thread has much larger nipples

Where's Jack Tunney? Didn't expect to hear that on tonight's SD

The Kingston/Punk face to face was great... Eddy cut a hell of a promo, actually outdid Punk who I thought did a good job of letting Eddy get the spotlight in this first go round... Like that they used past history to fuel the heat of the moment, nice move there...

Adam 'Budge' Cole Bay Bay!

Eddie and CM Punk confrontation was great. Punk was trying not to come across a bit of a smug heel. Eddie has that street Dusty Rhodes hard times underdog vibe that gets him over as a babyface.

Looks like Vince went on a cut spree again. So weird.

B-Fabb JUST got to the main roster. Keith Lee was just wasted by them. Where ever he finds a home, he'll be a star.
Keith Lee should join Lio Rush and Dante's high flying stable in AEW. Rush and Lee have teamed in the past.
She is the Samoan with a closer relationship to the Rock than the others, and TK probably wants that in road to Dwayne.
The Rock is really loyal to Vince, I doubt he would ever work with AEW.

Nia Jax won't join AEW. Jax is a unsafe worker that could injure some of the top women on their roster and probably cause backstage heat in the women's locker room. Tony Khan won't take the risk of signing her. Jax only lasted so long in the WWE due to her family connections and Vince love of Samoans.

This is true. Not to say that AEW won't promote Black Adam when it comes out though.

Sasha is wrestling as part of the UK tour tonight.....so yeah she's vaccinated.

I haven't watched wrestling in 7-8 years, I've seen the odd match here and there but not for ages, recently though I've been watching clips of AEW on YouTube and while i still don't like the "reality TV" stuff or favour the move heavy, kick out of everything style of modern wrestling, AEW's stuff at least feels like pro wrestling, WWE looks like it's taking place in the middle of the Vegas strip.

I don't really get why Malakai Black is so over but MJF is easily the best mic worker I've seen from the newer wrestlers, he's a completely undiluted heel, no redeemable qualities at all, I don't know how good he is in the ring but he's a heat magnet, and I watched the Rampage 'Buy In' show that featured Bryan vs Suzuki which was a really good match, I could have done without the strike exchange stuff that is popular in Japan but the mat work was excellent.

He'll probably still do his final match with Roman. At least that's what people are expecting. Also WWE is posting a lot of stuff about The Rock on social media lately, I wonder if that means something...

I have read that he's in the WWE Hall of Fame....if he wants to be. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but if you want to talk about legacy and include his non wrestling stuff, it's a great legacy. Plus he tweets a whole lot about wrestling, mostly the memories he had when he was a full time wrestler plus Young Rock is basically him as a boy going to his dad's wrestling events so he hasn't forgotten wrestling. I honestly think he would have been more like Goldberg if wrestling was the only thing he did. Instead, his appearances are a welcome. Are his appearances an attempt to get ratings? Of course, that's a given. But his WWE appearances are so infrequent that it's not considered a desperation attempt for ratings, otherwise he would show up once every six-eight months like Goldberg.

As bad as things have been in the WWE, I will defend the WWE on one thing: them kissing the Rock's ass, and I defend them on that for one simple fact: WWE is not the only one who kisses Dwayne's butt. Every studio in Hollywood wants to work with him or has worked with him. When all of the controversy surrounding Black Widow and Disney+ with Scar Jo happened, within a few days, there were reports that Disney paid the Rock a ton of money to compensate Jungle Cruise being on Disney+ at the same time as the film was released in theaters. To me that's Disney playing ball with the Rock as pretty much every studio in Hollywood has done, so WWE should get a pass for kissing his ass as they are not the only ones doing it.

I think he'll headline the WWE Hall of Fame in 2023. It's in Los Angeles, within a few miles from the Hollywood media, so The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, Variety but also Access Hollywood, Extra and Entertainment Tonight would cover "Dwayne The Rock Johnson heads into WWE Hall of Fame." If that is going to be the case, it's a smart play by WWE, making him headline the WWE Hall of Fame within the shadows of an industry that has made Dwayne super famous and super rich. I will be shocked if the WWE messes this up and I get the feeling that the WWE won't mess up how they handle the Rock outside of the ring. Inside against Roman is another story.

MJF is a heel who actually loves being a heel. Some heel wrestlers seem to really want to be a face and have audiences cheer them.

Most of AEW's main roster stars seem to be over with their audience. Even Big Show (Paul Wight) gets a pop for doing his old routine.

Apparently they've a new aggressive approach of you only get 6 months to show improvement otherwise you're gone. Would explain the likes of B Fab being cut.

Tbh it's not a bad approach but it's just horrific seeing how many people they've cut in 2021, some of whom should have been stars.

It's really weird to me that Keith Lee got that Royal Rumble 2020 rub only to end up how it did. How the hell did Vince go from giving him ground against Lesnar to totally dismissing him on the main roster? The guy was money, even just watching him move in the ring had me in a trance.

This is for NXT, to be precise.

I'm catching up right now for Full Gear, and I am listening to MJF give another great promo. His whole "Mid" thing has been cracking me up. :funny:

Glady you enjoyed Bryan/Suzuki. Two legends. :D

Wait until you see Malakai Black in a real rivalry with another top flight guy, he's really only been in there with Cody so far... And let's be honest, Cody is mid haha... Which leads me to MJF, I completely agree... I'm willing to call him one of the greatest ever on the mic already, and he's got another decade+ worth of his career left...

Full Gear might well be the first PPV I watch since Payback 2014. MJF is gold on the mic, oldschool Southern heat, the mid promo was such a well executed concept from him. :D:

I was surprised to see Suzuki is still around and he doesn't look any different despite the fact he must 85 by now. :funny:

Lol, i think Cody is a good worker but he's not one of these modern super athletes with the sets of moves strung together and crisp striking, is that the type of matches Malakai Black usually specializes in? I agree on MJF and I'm hyper critical of most things in current day pro wrestling. :hehe:

Well, i hope you enjoy it if you do. I think you might get a kick out of Bryan vs. Miro. Also I am curious to see what you think of Hangman.

I once looked up young Suzuki. Him being a handsome younger dude, was frightening. I didn't know he ever looked different. I just thought he came out of the ground looking just as he did 50 odd years ago. :funny:

I think just match for match, I honestly like the Full Gear lineup on paper better than All Ou.

Some AEW fans are expecting a major debut at Full Gear because "it's not an AEW PPV without a major debut" in their eyes.

So why does Becky and Charlotte hate each other?
