The Wrestling Thread has much larger nipples

If holds the belt 3 months past Mania 40, he overtakes Hogan as third longest championship reign.

At this point, if Cody doesn’t win any belt at Mania then it would be all for nothing. Really liked his match with Brock tonight, Ngl.

That's assuming of course that neither Cody nor Roman get injured before the next WM. It'd be pretty anticlimactic for Roman's historic title reign to end because he suffered an injury.

Yes, but I don't think they can stretch out that long at this point.

They wouldn't do that. They'd prob just have him sit home with the belt and pop up on TV to talk and have no matches. He hardly has them right now, so wouldn't be radically different lol

I definitely agree he needs to win a title at Mania, but storyline wise, I do feel like Tribal Chief Solo makes for better drama.

I really liked the match, but it confused me. Because Cody did a lot better in the first two matches, including the one where he had a "broken arm". He got pistol whipped tonight and won. This felt like the match they should've had second, but with him losing.

It would actually be the second longest. But you know, WWE like to lie about Inoki/Backlund. :argh:

I do not think Roman can go past Mania. It would be insane imo.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful asked when Roman will drop the title and someone within WWE said "whenever Roman and Paul Heyman feel like it."

Depends on the injury. If he's forced to sit out for nearly an year, I doubt that the WWE would be stupid enough to keep the belt hostage for that long.

SRS has a terrible track record, so yeah.

One more thing on Brock/Cody. I like how the ref just let him use the stairs. He was getting beaten so badly, the ref was like, "I can't DQ him. He needs this."

They'd find a way :o

You sure? Could sworn Bruno, and Backlund were at 2,000+ days
You're not wrong. That is what WWE says. But Backlund actually legit lost the title to Inoki, who handed it back. They acknowledged this when Inoki passed. If you count that legit title change, Backlund's longest reign is actually 4 days short of Hogan's, and he should be a 3 time WWF champion.

- Antonio Inoki beat Bob Backlund to win the WWF title. (Even though this was a title change agreed upon by Vince McMahon Sr. as part of a business deal, WWE's current history pretends this never took place)

If WWE plans on splitting up the Usos for awhile, I do hope that this leads to Jey winning a singles championship later on.

I love the long runways, but watching poor Iyo and Bayley try to run as fast as they can, killed me. Someone's going to trip once and it's going to be bad. :funny:

I'm sure after tonight, they're bound to strap a rocket on LA Knight. He's getting over.

So from a scale of 1-10 what would you rate this year's Summer Slam?

I'd give it a solid 8 out of 10. Could've done without Rousey's exit match.

7-8. I would've given it a 9 if Finn actually won. That put a damper on it for me. Was stupid to make Ronda/Shayna "MMA rules". The crowd had no idea how to react.

All I know is someone, anyone, needs to take the US title off Theory. He's strangling the belt with his blandness. Knight, Santos, Jey, anyone.

Also beating John Cena isn't a great accomplishment anymore seeing as how Cena is part time.

Saw his film with Jackie Chan on Netflix. It's a fun movie.
