I generally like Stevie but his bitterness towards Triple H is so obvious, and he's buddies with the likes of Russo and Coach, two of the biggest idiots in the wrestling podcast game, which is a red flag. When he comments on older stuff, "what went wrong" and indie botches he's good, but everytime he comments on the current product you can just feel the bitterness clouding his judgement, obviously Trips treat him and some people he liked, like crap, and he can't get past it.

Trips has made several booking errors this year that deserve criticism, but this is beyond a reach, Punk has been protected more than anyone since he came back, nobody has pinned him cleanly, and him lying there while Cena talked was the exact same thing Cena did for his pipebomb.

I do think Hunter is messing with Punk a bit. The Saudi stuff feels pointed. But even then, Punk's had a great comeback. If the only way you think for him to be a true success is as Cena style title run, you're in la la land.

The Saudi thing might have been a test to see how much of a "team player" he really is, but in general he's had a near perfect return, from the promos to the feuds to the matches, and the thing with Cena's title run is it was about breaking the record and then the storyline of leaving with the belt to "ruin wrestling", where as Punk hasn't needed a title. As a huge Punk fan I can't find anything to complain about.....now, as a massive Iyo fan!

On the subject of how people are booked, I'm guessing you're more familiar with Blake Monroe than me, am I off in thinking her presentation in NXT is struggling? I mean fair play to her for pulling the brawl off in those boots, but the 60's pin-up gimmick with elevator music feels outdated to me, I knew she leaned into the sexbomb thing, but i expected her to have more of a modern approach and edge to her.

Ah right, so they've just transplanted it? Unusual, I'm surprised they're trying to push her as a face, it must be because they took the 3 biggest assets out of the division and Jordynne Grace has lost a lot of momentum in the last 6 months.

I think Triple H does plenty to be criticised for when it comes to booking, just look at this thread to see, but Stevie is literally making stuff up to have a go at Triple H because they didn’t get on when he was there, that's the difference. You can tell Stevie doesn't really watch the product as he's made more than one critique where he clearly hadn't seen the previous show, and he definitely hadn't seen the Royal Rumble for instance when he complained about Reigns attacking Seth in the cage match at MSG.

I get what you're saying but Stevie is just giving his opinion on the matter based on what he sees. He's given Trips plenty of praise in other videos. Does he have a grudge against Trips? Probably but everyone in the business has a grudge against somebody.

To me his opinion is too often clouded when giving it though, I mean I'm a huge Punk fan, I stopped watching WWE for 10 years when he left as the companies approach under Vince had killed my fandom, to somehow come to the conclusion that Triple H was trying to bury Punk, when even as a fan I think he's been overprotected at times, comes off as personal issues as opposed to an honest appraisal of a segment.

Well, that was a breezy Smackdown, all done in under 90 minutes, 4 matches, 2 promo segments, and a few backstage bits.

If I'm not mistaken I think they reused last weeks Priest/Black bit, just like how they recycled bits from an old Rhea promo about Liv, and spliced them into the video package for her match with Raquel at Night of Champions.
