The Wrestling Thread has much larger nipples

That, plus his little interview he did yesterday where he showed complete disregard for the Janel Grant case and the allegations of sexual abuse in WWE.

What did he say about the Janel Grant case? In a way that was the best thing to happen to him as it got Vince out of his way, but obviously not an easy spot given he's married to Vince's daughter.

He's had so much media training he should have been able to answer that with a simple "I can't talk about an ongoing case" and left it at that, obviously innocent until proven guilty and everything, but he has to know Vince is guilty of at least some of the accusations, he knows him only too well.

I'm honestly not sure how much media training he's had. He's had a lot of gaffs the last year or so. But most didn't get traction because they weren't that serious. More petty stuff.

It's all just disappointing. I know what I'm watching. I just wish HHH and TKO as a whole would shut up and let us enjoy the wrestlers.

Agreed, I mean the corporate brand deal logo stuff and oversaturation of tie-ins and constant feening for celebrity endorsement is part of doing business in modern sports when you're owned by a corporation like TKO, and that garish **** is in every sport, but the rest of the stuff is unnecessary for them to get involved with openly.

It's like this Unreal show they've done, I haven't watched it but the whole thing seems to be designed to showcase Trips as the grand wizard of wrestling, he just needs to stay behind the scenes and book, he doesn't need to be front and centre when promoting, that's what the wrestlers are for.

Yep. It's like they're trying to make him the brand, Dana White style. Enough. Let me enjoy Iyo being super popular and Roxanne's rise.

The Dana White thing is exactly what I was thinking, personally I think Dana White comes across as an ********, but he's an actual fight promoter, in pro wrestling you don't need the booker to promote, its never needed that.

All I needed to see was the first episode of that Unreal show to see that it was nothing but Trips and the company self ******ing and living up to its title.

Also astonishes me that problematic ass Michael Hayes is still there on creative. Clearly he knows where the bodies are buried. :o

But Trips is done. Bad man, bad booker and he has a bad attitude.

#WeWantMelo trended to the high heavens this week and Carmelo Hayes got paid nothing but dust.

Episode 1 of Unreal:

The Rock says that the Final Boss is the greatest wrestling villain ever and he can do whatever he wants to with that character in the WWE

I'm still upset that Jelly Roll is on the card tonight but LA Knight, Carmelo, Ron Killings, Stephanie Vaquer and a few others are still on the sidelines.

Just makes you wanna slap somebody.

Knight and Penta are the biggest

I think it was supposed to be Yeet Yeah vs Bron Bron, and Roman vs Seth.

Melo and Killings should have been part of the Priest vs Black match at the very least, as they've been part of this story from the start.

I love a good double! :D

Hayes seems to have survived his various alcoholic misdemeanours due to the guys and girls liking to work with him on angles and matches, as he's respected creatively.

I saw the Melo thing trending, there was one for LA Knight, but I'd say in Melo's case they need to replicate it in the shows, like the R Truth stuff, they went mad when he was released and the pops died 2 weeks after he returned. Melo is a talented athlete and if not for the meteoric rise of Jacob Fatu I think he'd be US Champ by now, hopefully once Fatu moves up to the WWE title, Melo will get his shine.

I hate seeing celebrities wrestle, WWE are complete ****es the way they chase the celebrity hug, but from Mr. T, to Rodman to Mayweather, I'm used to it turning into a ridiculous match every now and then, at least Jellyroll's actually doing numbers, not like when they rolled Johnny Knoxville and his dumbass buddies out of mothballs.

My final picks for SummerSlam Night One:

Punk beats Gunther, no Seth cash-in.

Roman & Jey beat the Brons, I want to be wrong but I don't think they'll want Roman losing, he'll pin Reed.

Jade and Tiffany have a stinker, Tiffy turns heel and retains the title.

Kross beats Sami, because one of them has to win

Roxy & Raquel retain over Alexa & Charlotte, with help from Jersey girl Liv.

RKJelly beat Drew and Logan Paul, probably with Jelly pinning Paul.

So what exactly constitutes a celebrity wrestler? I know for most, its celebrities who enter wrestling, but could that term not also apply to wrestlers turned celebrities who return to wrestling every once in a while? Is Cena one? What about the Rock? If he ever comes back, would David Bautista count? Or do they not count because they started in wrestling first before going Hollywood and the term only applies to the likes of Bad Bunny and Jelly Roll?

It doesn't apply to Rock, Cena, or Batista as the started as wrestlers first, and put years of work in before branching out to movies.

It does apply to Bad Bunny and Jellyroll etc.

Does Logan Paul still count as a celebrity wrestler? We all hate him as a human being, but he fits into the WWE product well enough that he doesn't stick out like a sore thumb anymore.

I had to pause for a few minutes, then I saw Cardi B so hit skip, then I saw Jey and skipped his entrance which I knew would get me right up to date! :D

Really good opener 👍 that's probably the best splash I've seen Jey do. Bron and Reed both really shone even in defeat.

That was a really good opener. Roman got crazy height and distance on that dive.

Hey Fat Joe. He used to live not far from me when I was in high school back in the Bronx.
