The Wrestling Thread has much larger nipples

Je'Von Evans has the worst match on the card because he's going up against Josh Briggs.

Lola Vice is due to be NXT Women's Champion and Ricky Saints has been a bit of an underwhelming signing for NXT, although I did like that he just randomly sauntered out of nowhere to look at the NXT Championship, only to have a staredown with Oba Femi while TNA and NXT are brawling in the background. Lola wins it so that Blake Monroe beats her for that title.

Tavion Heights needs to win it and Ethan Page goes up.

Ethan Page is in an interesting position, he's clearly good enough to be on the main roster, but he's such a good, experienced pro that he's very useful to pair with the young talents who they want to develop.

The opening segment on Smackdown was good, Heyman, the Brons, Cody wanting to know about Brock as opposed to mentioning Seth, then Randy making the save, lots of moving parts, perhaps laying the groundwork for War Games.

Good to see Jacob Fatu back, they've been teasing a feud between him and Drew since just after Wrestlemania, and looks like we're finally getting it. 👍

The little tease with Zaruca and Charlotte & Alexa was probably setting a tag team title match up for the Smackdown in Australia.

The Street Profits vs Melo don't Miz and Giulia & Kiana vs Michin & B-Fab we're both solid tag matches, but the in-ring highlight of the show was easily Sami vs Je'Von Evans, really entertaining match.

That main event was a train wreck! :grimace: once Jade got busted open it went right off the rails, I was surprised that Nia completely forgot to kick out though, given her experience. The match was built around protecting Jade as I guess they still plan on her vs Bianca, probably at Wrestlemania, but the right woman went over here, this will be the best chance Tiffany has had in a while to have a really good match.

Leon Slater vs Je'von Evans at Bound for Glory should be a very good and crazily athletic match

The last 2 matches on No Mercy were both good, I was surprised Lola didn't win, but in fairness Jacy Jayne has become a reality good heel champion. I wonder who her hooded helper was, perhaps someone from Triple A, as Lola has been doing a few shows there. 🤔

I’m so damn happy for Ricky Saints.

Yep, he was wasted by AEW, and in truth he's been treading water in NXT, hopefully this is the start of a big run for him, as he's a talented all rounder and seems like a good guy.

NXT vs. TNA Invasion.....I hope the Hardys beat Dark State because I don't see Dark State as any sort of threat. If they were to get called up to main, they would pose zero threat to the Vision and to whatever Solo's group is now called. In fact, I could see Seth Rollins laughing like a crazy maniac at Dark State and Solo giving them some clever insult and the awkward white guy of the group (Cutler James) butchering his lines in response.

Whenever they lose the tag titles, stop giving Dark State any air time. Keep Saquon Shugars (the one who always wears the doo rag on his head) and demote the other three to Evolve in new gimmicks.

So if Matt Cardona is involved in this TNA vs. NXT thing moving forward (and I think he will be), I would think that WWE would mention him as a former US Champion, former IC Champion and a two time tag team Champion with Brian Myers. NXT has been good at doing this before. When JDC returned to face Lexus King (who has been stagnant) they mentioned him as Fandango. They even mentioned that Ash by Elegance was a former NXT and Raw Superstar. When they had Zack Wentz return the first time since his departure a few years back, Wes Lee (another stagnant superstar who is likely better off being gone from WWE) before he turned heel on Wentz and Trey Miguel mentioned that a lot had changed in NXT the last time Wentz was there. AJ Francis even mentioned that the NXT Locker Room got soft since he left in one of his appearances there. During the Women's Speed Tournament, TNA's Xia Brookside was mentioned as a former NXT UK Superstar.

And NXT has mentioned all of the accomplishments of the Hardy Boyz in the WWE in the past.

We saw Cedric Alexander and Matt Cardona among the TNA Invaders on Tuesday. I am not sure we'll see Mustafa Ali or Nic Nemeth. We did see Lei Ying Lee as one of the females to invade and we knew her from WWE as Xia Li. With Kelani Jordan as TNA Knockouts Champion, we might see Indi Hartwell return. I am not sure about Victoria Crawford (FKA Alicia Fox). Also not sure about Mara Sade either as I am not sure she wants to return 6 months after she was released ending her time as Jakara Jackson but if she's on Team TNA and Lash Legend is on Team NXT at Invasion, it could make for an interesting interaction if these two have to square off.

This is one of the benefits of the relationship between WWE and TNA. TNA wrestlers who have pasts in WWE (and vice versa) can have those pasts directly mentioned without some vague wordplay. Now they can mention that both Chelsea Green and Mia Yim are former Knockouts Champions (not sure if they mentioned it yet though).

I'm liking the build between Cody and Seth, weaving in their personal history into the Champion vs Champion concept, the video package and promo segment were both good.

I liked the opening segment, it did a good job of getting more heat on the Kabuki Warriors and presenting Asuka as a force of nature, while locking in the big tag match for Crown Jewel.

Roman's back

I know he's on the Crown Jewel poster but I wonder what the match will be, the interaction between him and Jey, and Jimmy's facial expression in reaction to it, was really interesting. 🤔

Tonight on NXT

Mustafa Ali makes his WWE/NXT return as one of the TNA talent that is a part of the invasion angle
