It's also said that creative has picked out a tentative winner for the Royal Rumble already, and that Superstar is from the SmackDown brand. The idea is that the winner will end up with the World Heavyweight Title before WrestleMania 28, likely at Elimination Chamber, because Daniel Bryan will be challenging with his Money in the Bank briefcase. http://www.pwpix.net/pwpixnews/headlines/320473812.php

To me if they are going to basically commemorate the Flair Rumble classic 20 years on then Punk should be the one to win, to put him over the top. I am also surprised to read Bryan is still supposedly going to be following through on his angle.

A special message from Macho Man and Bret Hart.

hahah I hope Miz or Truth use a broomstick for a weapon in their Vengeance tag match against Punk and Triple H.

after catching the end of tna, jeff hardy seems to be in pretty good condition right now. thought it was pretty funny how sting came out wearing a hogan shirt. still found the show a bit boring, but the last hour of raw was pretty boring too. i'm honestly not sure what i'm looking for in wrestling these days. just seems pretty boring lately  i miss the days of wrestling surprising me. thought it was awesome with cm punk a month or two back but this past weeks raw was really disappointing. the wrestlers walk out on triple h for hazardous conditions and then john laurinitis brings back miz and r truth which was the cause for the hazardous conditions. thats just bad writing. ugh, i feel like i'm just watching wrestling nowadays because there's nothing else on, which is quite frustrating for me

Impact was just ok. Honestly diappointing given the strong string of shows they've put on lately.

Hardy did look to be slimmer and healthy. Good for him!

Wrestling will never be quite like it use to be. The initial run of the CM Punk angle was the closest it's ever been, but WWE had already screwed that up. It's sad that when all you hope for these days is just for the shows to make sense and be good. It use to be a good show was disappointing in the monday night war era. :csad:

Impact didn't feel like a go home show tonight. I enjoyed the opening segment between Angle and Roode. I stopped watching after the handicap match was over. I'm actually looking forward to BFG, but I won't be watching the last match.

sadly i think you're right. i think part of the problem is the internet and the news is so easily accessible and even surprises are no longer surprises. thats what made the initial run of cm punk so good. it was hard to tell what was real and what was fake. unfortunately, the best part of the night for me with raw was going to see the new classic intercontinental belt and they didn't even show it. when rhodes came out, i think it was just to beat up on orton. the beginning of raw was pretty decent/new, but it was downhill pretty fast.

i never really enjoy impact, but at times i watch it because sadly there's nothing else on. i saw the second half and i must say, can't really stand karen angle. just find her annoying. saw the roode match and i can definitely see potential in him. can't believe steiner is still wrestling. hate how roided up he looks. it's amazing how different he looks compared to when he first started. i used to love his version of the frankensteiner. back in the day that move was pretty cool to watch. wasn't a fan of the abyss beat down. is abyss a good guy or a bad guy now? as for the hogan/sting confrontation.......um eh. i thought it was pretty funny how sting came out in a hogan shirt.

on an unrelated note. i'm curious what more people would want to see for austin's "final" match. if austin were to wrestle only one more match, would you rather see austin vs brock, or austin vs cm punk?

I think it would be more interesting for Punk to face Austin. Lesnar coming back would be awesome but for him to challenge someone that essentially isn't there seems kind of strange to me.

Austin vs Punk
Cena vs Rock
Undertaker vs Brock
2,000,000 buys guaranteed lol.

Still not looking forward to Sting vs Hogan. Bubba Ray can really work the mic better than people give him credit for. STILL tired of Abyss. Just go away.

I actually enjoyed Karen Angle as the Knockout boss but TNA has done this idea a bunch of times before. with Traci Brooks and Brooke Adams. Karen is just the first full on heel. I'm kinda hoping Velvet Sky wins the title...which looks like an actual belt and not a barbie accessory like the Divas title.

Austin vs Punk would be a better (and safer healthwise for Austin) match to make. It's also more interesting given the straight edge character vs. Austin's beer drinking redneck character.

Lesnar vs. Brock hs much more appeal as two monsters battling and Taker could work a big man match with Brock quite well.

I don't know if Brock will be out from his UFC contract by this years Mania but if they pulled something like that off it would be incredible.

We could see all those come to fruition over the next couple years though.

You shouldn't watch it then; that's what I'm going to do. BFG is over for me after Roode vs Angle. Hogan vs Sting in 2011 is not worth my time.

Man Hogan is just unbelievable....

HULK HOGAN SAYS BOBBY ROODE IS NOT READY AND NOT THE 'NEXT GREAT GUY' IN WRESTLING AND LOTS MORE
by Mike Johnson @ 9:38 AM on 10/14/2011

In an appearance taped yesterday that will run on today's episode of Sirius Radio's Busted Open show, Hulk Hogan gave comments on a number of different topics. The show will air this afternoon at 3 PM but they have released some quotes early and man, they are a doozy when you look at them from the point of view that Hogan is supposed to be promoting TNA:

Robert Roode: “Nah, he’s not ready. He’s not the next guy. Ya’ know, they might think he is. Dixie Carter might think he is. The whole world might think he is. He’s not the next guy. If I had to bet money on anybody and really be serious about betting money on anybody, I’d say Jeff Hardy is the next guy if he keeps his act together. Um, that’s what you gotta to have, man. This is much more than being a wrestler, this is crossing barriers, medias, ya’ know media barriers, and, and entertainment barriers of all kind. Getting your character down verbally has 90% to do with getting over. I just have a very strong feeling Kurt Angle’s going to clean his clock performance wise, and carry the match, and basically remains the champion. He’s training for the Olympics. He’s had some up and down moments, and I think this is not gonna be a down moment for Kurt Angle, so I’m betting that farm on him."

Wrestling Sting at Bound for Glory: "The main event is Kurt Angle, thank god! And uh, Bobby Roode stepped up, and he’s definitely become a presence, so I’m betting the farm on Kurt Angle, and uh, I guess I’m kind of like the icing on the cake, Sting and I have a crazy track record with Pay-Per-View buy numbers, and it just made sense to give everybody a little extra, and let everybody know, and, that it’s not a performance orientated match. Of course none of em’ were for me, anyway. But it’s a situation where I think there’s gonna’ be some interest to see what happens out there with Sting and I, and if I can roll my walker down the ramp, I’ll be good to go. I don’t even want to think about it. It’s just going to happen like everything else. I’m not into talking about diving off something or falling off something. I never have really talked about a match. There’s really nothing to talk about. You gotta’ go out there and listen to what the people want. They want a car crash, they’ll get one. I’m not looking for back surgery #9 or anything like that. I mean I’m not out of my mind, and crazy. I don’t think Sting’s ever really had anything broken on his face. My nose and teeth are, have been so beat up, it doesn’t matter, but Sting? I don’t know if he can take one straight in. Even as of last week, it was there. I just stood in the ring with him, and it’s electric. I mean it’s there. You just follow that energy man, and we could end up in the middle of the ring, we could end up at the top of the building, I mean you just don’t know. It could go 5 seconds, it could go 50 minutes, I don’t know. I mean, if it’s there, it’s there, and right now, standing in the ring with him, it’s there. I’ve stood in the ring with a lot of people that it hasn’t been there. But I’m not worried about this one because it’s there. The feeling and the energy’s there from the people. They want to see something crazy happen. Well, I had my last match a long time ago, so we definitely didn’t attempt to build this as a match. It’s kind of like, almost a grey area again. The crazier Sting gets, the more over his character gets, but then the down side should have been me getting booed more, but it’s kind of like the N.W.O. feel all of a sudden. The more aggressive I get, the more people cheer me out of loyalty, out of love, out of compassion, whatever it is. I think the people might’ve farted at me turning good guy, shaking hands, and going you know what? One last fight, and I’m gonna’ fade off into the sunset. I don’t think they would’ve bought that. The timing doesn’t feel right for that."

James Storm: "I’d go with James Storm all day long. Mainstream brotha’! Cowboy hat, beer drinking, middle America, Nascar, Walmart, Country Western. I mean all day long, it’s a no brainer. That’s me. That’s my opinion. So, I mean, Bobby Roode’s a tremendous athlete. I would change. I’d build him from Venice Beach, California or Omaha, Nebraska instead of, I dunno, Canada, eh’? I love him to death. He’s a great kid. When he looked down at me from the ring, and we had an argument one day, and he goes, “What the hell have you ever done?” I said man, this guy’d be a great heel, but yeah he has a lot of potential there for him to, but if you ask me to choose who to run with’, and you gave me those two choices? That’s my opinion."

Jeff Hardy: "If I had to bet money on anybody, and really be serious about betting money on anybody, I’d say Jeff Hardy’s the next guy if he keeps his act together. Well, I think he’s got a lot of shine to him, I mean he just doesn’t have 5-star matches. He shines outside the ring. He walks through the mall, and people know who he is. He’s got a look, he’s got an air about him. He’s got the “IT” factor. That’s what you gotta’ have, man. This is much more than being a wrestler. This is crossing barriers, medias,, media barriers, and, and entertainment barriers of all kind. And I think the kid, Jeff Hardy has the potential to really be the guy."

AJ Styles: "It’s never too late. I mean, I just don’t know. I, when I first came in all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed a couple of years ago, I had a ton of suggestions which I was kind of pushing real hard, which I thought would take him to a crazy, crazy level, and nobody responded. So, I don’t know at this point. I have my ideas, but a lot of things that I believe in, and what I feel from the crowd, and what I know. The little I know about this business. Sometimes, it’s either taken and used, or used and it doesn’t work, or it’s not used at all. So, it’s just..it’s my opinion. I don’t know at this point."

Hogan should leave the business. He's doing it more harm than good.

you know hogan has lost it when he says jeff hardy can be the next best thing on the planet. Good to know that will never happen as the guy cant keep straight.

Hogan should have never signed a new deal with TNA in the first place. In fact, he was a stupid signing to start with.

The Rock would never say anything like that about anybody in the WWE.

At first I thought Hogan was working in heel mode but now that I read it I think those are his real opinions. There is some truth to what he says but damn to bury some of these guys like that before BFG is just so ridiculous and typical of Hogan going into business for himself. Even Triple H has some tact to not bury the talent when trying to promote the company in the media.

It does BFG no good to be down on one half of the world title match publicly right now.

I'm just curious what Wrestler Biography's have you guys read?

I've only read Foley's first two, the Rock's and Austin's. Any recommendations?

Read Jericho's. Also Jeff Hardy at one point was more over than John Cena. He could have been the next big thing but he blew it. Also nobody in TNA is gonna be the next big thing.

for the whole tna on spike thing, its worse in the uk, tna used to be on bravo which was a blokes channel. when that folded it moved to challenge

yeah tna wrestling airs on a channel that shows nothing but old game shows
TNA could not be on a worst network. I'm surprised TNA didn't cut a deal with ITV4 or Fiver they seem like the kind of channels that would show there shows

Now that was a cool promo.

I really miss Randy Savage.

I remember that, it was one of their promo vids for Summerslam 98 that was held in MSG.

At first I thought Hogan was in kayfabe mode but he's not, Way to bury the title match so he can then go to the very next question and put himself vs sting over even though they only had 2 PPV matches. He fails to mention that while his first match with Sting did the best buyrate in WCW history, his politicical BS in the outcomes of that match and the rematch were the reason WCW started to lose momentum and their ratings and buyrates began to drop.

James Storm: "I’d go with James Storm all day long. Mainstream brotha’! Cowboy hat, beer drinking, middle America, Nascar, Walmart, Country Western. I mean all day long, it’s a no brainer. That’s me. That’s my opinion."

I know you agree with him on this Superark and you both may be right, I actually agree with Hogan that Roode is probably better suited to being a heel, but this was hardly the time to give two answers that bury the guy who the promotion has built up as the challenger for their world title at this Sunday's PPV.
