The Wrestling Thread...Has Set Me Free!- - Part 41

Impact featured some good tag matches and I like the pairing of Joe and Magnus, but the Kazarian heel turn on AJ made no sense and the opening segment, despite some solid mic work, was really awkward, especially Abyss being all buddies with Storm not to mention Roode and Angle acting like they had no recent history.
With Roode and Angle, you have to remember that Angle opened his eyes to "selfishness." Angle will eventually go after Roode. Afterall, he called the title his in the promo.

I felt they were always wasting Kaz by not doing anything with him. He's barely been competing up until this tag tournament, and he can play a good heel. I think it will work for him, and he's working a program with Styles, so the matches will be great.

Jealousy and whatnot is the easiest catalyst. Plus, Daniels is there.
They also need to rid their minds of the notion that Gunner will ever be over and someone needs to pull Eric Young's plug ASAP.
I agree with you about Gunner somewhat. I think he needs more development and he'll be pretty solid. As for EY, well, he's a solid worker and a comedy character. It works for him.
Good to see Ted back to jobbing.
I like Ted, he has the look and in-ring ability. He just can't promo for ****.

Heel Danielson
is great if they let him run with it.

Re: Smackdown

I hate the potential Bryan heel turn. It's stupid and unnecessary. I hope the run flops. With that said, I'm guessing its going to be Bryan Vs. Sheamus or Bryan Vs. Orton at Wrestlemania.

Bryan vs. Sheamus, please. I'm so fed up of Orton right now..

I actually think heel Bryan might be just what he needs. He gave Show a great match, and his antics after were hilarious. There's been something so... dull, about his WWE face character. Maybe its because the crowd doesn't know that they're supposed to chant "kick his ******* head in", I dunno. But after a heel turn, when he eventually goes back to a face, his character will have grown. I think it will ultimately be good for Bryan, as long as he's allowed to continue putting on good matches.

The fact that he's already receiving such a negative reaction from the audience when all he's really done is act overly cocky is a good sign.

I agree. That way they can pick up where they left off last year.

That's how you take out the Kevin trash!

Seriously, I would buy an entire PPV just to see Warrior go one-on-one with one of those battery-powered weasel balls you can buy at Spencers Gifts.

Bryan heel turn might be just what the doctor ordered. Much like Roode he might be able to really cut loose character wise. Plus the boringly obvious choice would have been to turn Show heel. They didn't. I like the creative thinking here.

Somebody PLEASE post the animated GIF. That was freakin comedy gold!

My God...Warrior actually making sense! He's right. Warriors a nutjob...but he's right.

Nash went full on b*tch just because Warrior told the truth.

This has been pretty entertaining. :funny:

That had to have been Bizzaro Warrior.

There was animated .gif of all these Photoshopped images and quotes including Tony Schiavone over that background going around a couple of years ago. It was freaking hilarious. I hope somebody knows / remember what I'm talking about and posts it.

Bryan was just such a *****ebag tonight, in a good way. I also liked when he told Show to get his hand off him.

The only thing left for WWE to do is let him actually show off his knowledge of submission holds.

That would be cool. Bryan is is alot of fun as a heel.

Yup.

I really liked the transition from the guillotine submission into the labell lock tonight.

But yeah I've said it before, he ought to be shown as someone that can finish guys off with any number of submissions.

I think I've seen Bryan use cattle mutilation only once in his whole WWE run.

Wrestlemania should be his time to show off.

It feels like we're getting something similar to '99/2000 Angle with Bryan in terms of characterisation.

Seriously, Danielson's WWE move set is trash, IMO.

The Ultimate Woya and The Honky Tonk Man are regarded as two of the biggest assh*les in the business yet when I listen to their shoot interview, I agree with a lot of what they have to say!

A Heel Daniel Bryan won't be affective, namely because the idiot announcer Michael Cole will still think he's a pathetic loser

I found him amusing, I enjoyed the reaction he was able to get.

I do have concerns. Money in the Bank seems like a double-edged sword. So many guys are booked as undeserving after they win. Bryan's been booked horribly 90% of the time.

On top of that, WWE has a pattern of having very cowardly heels. You have Christian, giving Orton the best match Orton's had in a very long time, in one PPV. Several PPVs later, and Christian is this pathetic coward who has to cheat constantly and is knocked way down the card.

I'd hate to see that happen to Bryan.

oh well I was trying to find that but I only found Lex Luger. lol

Wasn't the WWE at one point interested in Female MMA Fighter Cyborg? If they had been, I think that their interest disappeared after hearing what happened to her today.
