This console is pretty much perfect for my needs. If only Microsoft had had their brains on when launching the original X1.
awesome to hear, Iceman!
I came close to buying an X on 2 occasions this BF weekend, but backed out.
it's tempting......but.........
Welcome back! The X1 thread needs its X-Knight!!t:
You're always close to buying an X1. The only time you're not close is when you're returning one.
How much was it? They can't reduce it much so soon can they?
Greatyes. I'm slowly trying to get back to normal. as much as I can, at least.
and there were no price cuts on the X during BF. no real good deals or bonuses either. other than $10 off a headset if you buy the X.
that was another reason why I held off. I don't expect a price cut this year, but they could have thrown in a free game or something.
Great
Oh right pretty much a non-event then. Can imagine there'll be great deals on it next year. What game would you have wanted to get with it?
well, a free game of my choice would have been nice ( they often do that with Xbox and X1 S ).
other than that, maybe Forza 7?? something I wouldn't normally buy on my own.
Yeah I think Forza would really show off the capabilities of the system. I tried Forza 5 on it and that looked great.t:
Yeah they should offer older titles, or digital titles (not really a direct hit then). I heard Halo 3 was impressive too (the vegetation especially lol). Controllers also seem to be really expensive these days.yep. or ACO. or heck, some older titles like Halo 5 or Quantum Break. MS and the retailers would take less of hit by offering older titles like those free.
I've heard the Halo 5 upgrades are pretty impressive.
or even a free X1 controller, not just $10 or $20 off of a controller. I've had issues with the packed in controller before, so having a free, extra controller would be handy.

also heard Fallout 3 and Oblivion got upgrades, too.
it's cool they are upgrading 360 titles like that.
Yes. And I have hundreds to catch up on (that I fully intend on finishing one day. That's why this console has actually been better than a next gen console for me. It improves all my old games rather than gives me one or 2 **** games that aren't really next gen as most new console gens do with nothing else to play for months.
it's kind of ironic that the Xbox may be a better place to play BC titles from past systems, but miss out on titles in the current gen.......lol.
but yeah, BC is a big advantage Xbox has over PS.

Gears 4 over 100GB! I thought they might be larger though too overall.
I'm looking forward to that game getting announced, if it happens. Love having a fighter with weapons. I played the hell out of SCIV, V a fair amount but nowhere near as much.yeah, though I'm not entirely sure of the accuracy of the list. like, do those numbers include the day one patches?
the other day, I tried to compare those numbers to the PS4 versions on the PS store ( to rule out any extra DLC I may have downloaded on my own Pro ).
For some titles, the X Enhanced versions were only a few GBs higher than the PS4 versions. But for other titles, the PS4 versions were actually a bit higher!! ( which doesn't make much sense......lol )
but, I guess that list can give a rough idea of the X Enhanced file sizes.
anyways, my decision on getting an X could come soon, especially if today is the day Soul Calibur VI gets revealed at the Game Award. And if not today, then hopefully this weekend at PSX. And if not then, then hopefully next week at the Bandai Namco event. And if not then........
all I want is official confirmation that SC VI is real and what platform(s) it will be on.

that's why I hope it comes to Xbox, not just for my sake but for yours, too.
speaking of SCIV, that was actually one of the 1st games I bought with my 360 back in 2008 I think.
so, to me, the SC franchise has a history on Xbox - hopefully it will have a future on Xbox as well.
I really hope it does, but that's just life if it doesn't.
I want to be able to play all the multiplat fighters but I can always play on pc if they release there too. Did you ever try Killer Instinct?
true, you could always play it on PC. I'm just not a PC gamer - always have preferred consoles.
and I did try Killer Instinct. Growing up, I remember playing the original 2 games in the arcades - and they were pretty big deals when they came to the SNES and N64. I loved those games.
It's just - I don't really have the same "connection" to the KI characters as I do with other fighting games like SF or SC. And, for the newest KI game, I didn't really like the "piecemeal" approach they took to the game. But I thought the game was fun, and on the Xbox, you don't have much choice for fighting games anyways......lol.
Are they still updating KI with future seasons? or are they pretty much done with it?
seems we haven't heard much about KI lately, other than it getting X Enhanced.
I get that about the characters. I barely remember the original but really got into them after playing. And I hated the piecemeal approach at first but the benefit is that the game received amazing support long term with continuous content updates for years. I haven't play it recently but the number of new characters and modes is crazy now.
