I'm more curious about what the J stands for...how did they not ask that as a followup?? lol

But yeah, it would be interesting to hear how he'd respond that. Just considering what he said though, I don't think you pay homage to a character by giving a new character said character's initials, only to then bring on the character you're paying homage to.

yeah. that's why I'm not holding out much hope that Mary Jane Watson will show up later on. which is a complete disappointment to me.

Do you have any idea how ridiculous you are sounding right now with this "damage control" non-sense? Spider-Man: Homecoming is at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes after 207 reviews, with an average rating of 7.7. The film is breaking out hard in the movie theaters and is arguably the best Spider-Man film of all time and one of the MCU films very best. No one at Marvel Studios or Sony are doing "damage control" at all, they are celebrating. And rightfully so.

Michelle isn't and never was Mary Jane Watson. She isn't the MCU's version of the character. She is someone else, and there are important characters in the Marvel Comics mythology that have a last name that starts with J. There are great things ahead Zendaya's character in the MCU, but being Mary Jane Watson wasn't what she was brought in for. Romantic interest? Maybe. Does Spider-Man ever had a romantic interest with someone that has a last name that starts with J? Does he has some AMAZING friends that starts with that name? You guys were looking for the wrong redhead, folks.
