Things You Want To See With This Reboot That Never Has Been Done Before?

Personally I think Supes is a character that lends it self to s great story that includes his origin, at least from the farm perspective. There aren't many superheroes that have their powers from the age of a child and it can create lots of fun scenes but it's also nice to see Clark learn.

People might argue it's been done to death but apart from S:TM and Smaville, we haven't had a nice lengthy pre adolescent/teen superman story (not the whole film) on screen and those 2 are quite old now.

For me Supes and Spider-Man are the 2 characters that are just as enjoyable out of costume as they are in.

A semi year one story.

it starts in year two but is a recap of year one framed as a Superman for All Season in each season around an investigation of Intergang(Lois) and a union organization attempt(Clark).

Then main villain would be Starro with Intergang filling out the action.

Year One crux is basically the jeans and boots Superman and Clark dealing with the fact things have escalated beyond regular bullets and if he’s actually ready for this or if he’s making things worse. We see him losing Lana and failing to get a job at the Daily Planet.

Starro basically acts a rewind of his first year. And how people see the effect Superman has had from various perspective. Criminal, Lois, Lex, Jimmy, average citizen. This is more of a visually trippy experience like the movie the Cell than a run of the mill flashback story. Starro wants revenge for something Superman did in his first year and is looking for information about how to kill Superman through peoples memories.

No Kryptonite

This sounds really cool!

With how much Sam’s character has been overhauled on Superman and Lois, it would be interesting to see him on-screen where he’s just a straight up bastard.

He'll just be another grandparent we don't see in the holidays.

If they decide to do an origin story again - which I don’t expect or want - I think I’d like to see Clark go on adventures with the Legion. There’s a ton of mileage you could get out of that, especially if WB decide they want their own Tom Holland.

The problem with Superman in comparison to Spidey is all the stuff people care about Spidey happens in his teen years (JJ, MJ, Norman etc) so it matters in real time. Superman’s villains, Metropolis, Lois, all happen after he leaves. So it’s basically like sticking a prequel in your movie where most of it doesn’t matter cause you know how it ends.

Nolan got around this by tying Ra’s to his training so the pre-Batman stuff mattered to the end of a 2hr movie.

In a world of 18 Marvel products a year, making Superman standout is going to be harder than just a new villain or skipping the origin.

Probably better to introduce LOS on its own to make the audience care about them then work your way back to Superman than the other way.

I get what you mean but for me what makes Clarks youth same but different is he is someone that has had powers since they were born. It's such a huge chunk of someone's life with super powers to miss out on. I'm not wanting Smallville but on the big screen but at least a good portion of the film that shows us his teen life, his early twenties. Something more than just Clark tries out for football and can't help heat vision when he sees a girl. There is a lot of content that hasn't been covered in Superman media before. No more Clark just wearing a red flanno over a blue t shirt.

If Spider-Man can have now have adventures with Gwen Stacy and the audience likes it then surely we can have college years with Lana and Pete and make them stronger characters and then eventually move onto Lois and the rest of the gang.

To me Superman/Clark is just as interesting when he is saving everyday people and or helping in natural disasters or other things a young man with amazing powers can do.

I want to write more but my phone is horrible to type on

Yeah. I thought it would simply be a good idea to make Pete and Lana apart of the Metropolis part of the story as something new. How he and Lana actually fell out instead of just accepting Lois as endgame and speeding through character arcs.

And Pete being a source for Clark in government that eventually puts them on opposite sides of General Lane.

This probably won’t happen now, but instead of a connected DC Universe, I’d love to see a Superman universe. The potential would be immense.

Same. I've said it before, but my dream scenario would actually be an ultra-high budget, HBO-quality TV show, so we could see Supes AND all of his wonderful guest stars, spinoff characters and villains get the spotlight. One of the reasons the movies have never really done it for me is because due to their limited format, they don't have the time to spend on so many of parts of Superman's world that make it so appealing to me. So a Superman movie universe would be the next best thing to my dream scenario for me.

You definitely planted that seed in my head. We’ve been waiting forever for the definitive Superman adaptation and I think embracing the universe and expanding it outwards on TV would be an amazing way of doing that. I want a Superman series, a limited series starring Lois, a limited series detailing the final days of Krypton, a Supergirl spinoff, a Steel spinoff…I want it all!

If we could get that "one" superman film that both critics and audiences love, and have it get close to, or make a billion, you would get all that AND more.

I thought Superman The Movie was the definitive Superman adaptation? The movie theme is still being used today in some Superman projects.

I want to see Superman put on his suit. I want to know how its put on.

Brainiac and a Lex that's actually intimidating without the corky cheese sauce.

Pity that a low budget cw series and an animated series has given us the best lex(s) we've seen so far.

As far as Brainiac, I don't want him grounded in reality. I want the full on Brainiac, skull ship and all.
Just bring him to life from the animated series.
Complete with an army of drone copies.

It currently is and will likely, IMO, remain that way as long as WB is in charge of the character's creative direction.

Some supporting characters I'd like to see in a reboot

I wanna see his super speed.
Yes, we've seen him fly really fast in mos, and we saw a taste of it with him vs the jl.
But I wanna see him chase down a bullet and Pluck it out of the air, or outrace lightning to save someone.

Imagine this...

Superman is flying through a violent Tstorm. Thunder, lightning, and rain are all around him.
Lightning strikes him but it no more effects him than a static shock on carpet does us.

He looks down several miles away and sees a small child by a tree near a horse farm.
He was caught out in the storm.

Lightning flashes, thunder roars and rain comes down in sheets all around the child. He is terrified.

The child's mother is frantically screaming for her son but she can't find him in the blinding rain and wind.
Horses run here and there in a panic.

Superman turns and starts to head down to help.

In a instant we see a blinding flash and a lightning bolt starts heading for the tree and the child.

Superman's eyes go wide in horror.
He grits his teeth and pours on the speed.

Everything slows down in time except the lightning bolt and superman.
It's a race for life or death between he and the lightning.

More speed he thinks determinedly. More!!
With a determined look that would melt ice he finds more speed.

He slowly passes the lightning bolt and time seems to stop completely.

We See Rain hovering in the air, motionless.
We see The child and mother frozen in time.
We see Horses stuck in place in mid-run.
Tress that an instant before were violently swaying from the wind are now motionless.

We see the lightning bolt reaching down for the tree the child is hiding under. It seems alive. Tentacles of electricity spiral out.

Just ahead of it is superman.

He grabs the child, just Mere feet ahead of the lighting bolt, it almost seems to be reaching out for them, trying to strike them, but superman is faster, and he whisks the child to safety.

The bolt smashes the tree to splinters a nano second later, as if angered it missed the child.

Superman slowly sets the child down by his mother.
The child looks up at Superman, mouth open in shock. He looks around then smiles.

The mother runs to the child and gives him a tight embrace, she then hugs superman.
He smiles in return then flies up and off.

I'd love to see supermans speed but toned down just a hair. Like he really may have to chase the bullet a just a little bit. But I think the same goes for his strength and durability more in line with STAS where he was very strong and super fast but still vulnerable to pain even if it can't kill him. I like idea that bullets sting just a tiny bit. One thing I hated about MoS is superman takes no damage in the kryptonian fights. No bruises, no torn costume, no messy hair etc.
