Huh? She doesn't look anything like Valkyrie or Enchantress:

As we all know, Marvel always casts straight off the page and never ever ever gets someone who doesn't look like the original character.

:cwink:

But in this case, you have the wrong Rebecca Ferguson. That's Rebecca Ferguson, the singer. They were referring to Rebecca Ferguson, the actress.

I see. But she's apparently being looked at for the role of Captain Marvel, not a role in Thor.

Although the Rebecca Ferguson I posted above doesn't look anything like Carol Danvers either. Not that it matters, since she's not the one in question, but just saying.

Feige already set that they haven't started casting for Captain Marvel, so she met with them for something else

Maybe she's planning to sing the theme tune to a Marvel movie. :oldrazz:

except for, you know, all the people on this board who've acknowledged the perfect balance of humor that TWS had...

TWS was a good film but perfect balance of humor is subjective. Sure I'd like to see more films in that vein from Marvel. However, GOTG was great as well but for totally different reasons. TWS is not the end-all be-all for Marvel. We're going to get a Civil War film directed by the Russos and TWO Avengers films directed by the Russos. I think we'll get our fill of that style of film. I prefer Thor continue to find his own voice in the Marvel universe.

I've seen people complain that Marvel films are all the same and then in the same breath say that TWS should be the template for all Marvel films. :whatever:

I'm really intrigued by the choice of Waititi as director. He's also from New Zealand so I wonder if he might do any filming there ??? :awesome:

Well, I for one regard WS to be an overrated movie (but we already went down this route before). Still good, but I just don't rate it as highly as most...

I would say that TA and GoTG are better examples of getting a balance with humour

Winter Soldier hit a lot of notes. Political thriller for the oldies, continuity for the geeks, Cap action for the casual demo and the kiddies, and Black Widow for everyone into boobs and ass.

:o

Ikr? Its very strange and kinda confusing when they say that.

I also believe the criticism of TDW having too much humour is exaggerated. I believe Thor had more, the problem in TDW imo is that it's overdone in the final battle.

The first Thor doesn't have anything quite like Physicists running around nude and being in a mental asylum, and yes, none of the humor in THOR drained any of the drama and it wasn't something injected into the finale. TDW was ill conceived on that and quite a few other fronts.

Some of you keep beating this drum repeatedly. You don't like TDW. I get it. Irrespective of my own feelings regarding TDW, what makes you think this film will be anything like that one? Alan Taylor is not coming back and will probably never work for Marvel again. All indicators are Thor is headed in a new direction. For better or worse, we shall see.

I know many people didn't like TDW but for me it's one of the most enjoyable CBMs,I just like watching the movie. Hel,if people can say that worse received movies like ASM2 and MoS are great CBMs then I can shamelessly say I love Thor 2.

This seems to be the sentiment around here and among the "fan boys" and yet critics and general audiences enjoyed the earth scenes the most and felt that the second half was the best part of the film. Go figure.

This is what my final thoughts on Thor 2 when I wrote a review for it a while ago..

Ultimately, the dark hero narrative culminates in the climatic showdown in London, out of "Portal" as opposed to world destruction of "The Avengers" (even though there's a fair amount of destruction in London). A welcome departure. The pivotal Loki twist works, but for me dilutes the gravity of the emotional threat. It is to the credit of the team behind Thor: The Dark World then that the film is effortlessly invigorating, assured in its tone with a good sprinkling of humour mixed in with awe-inspiring, effects- heavy action sequences and well-written character moments. The movie will shock you with its unexpected twists. I was spellbound and baffled with occasional bouts of goose bumps during certain sequences, for I never expected that coming. On almost every level, whether be it storytelling, emotion, acting, or action, 'Thor The Dark World exceeds its predecessor.

I actually prefer TDW than the first Thor film. Some of the criticisms are over blown but yeah, sure it has flaws but I still enjoy it. It's everything I wanted the first film to be. More of Asgard, more action etc

Agreed. And no need to apologize for what you like. Of the MCU films, I'm not sure which gets more hate, TDW or IM3. But the problem is the people who actually like both films move on with their life and don't spend all day extolling their virtues vs. the people who take every opportunity to tear these movies down. It's not like a comic loving movie goer doesn't have options. There's a tsunami of comic book films coming our way and, whatever tone or style you're after, odds are you'll find something that floats your boat.

Iron Man 2 and Age of Ultron also get a lot of flack, and AoU is my Absolute favourite CBM.

Cool review bro. Nice to see someone else appreciating the film's strengths. For me it was a complete breath of fresh air after watching Man of Steel. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Yeah you're right - those two do get a good deal of hate as well but not as much - at least not that I've seen.

I hope Thor has his costume from TDW. Whilst sleeve-less Thor is great for the ladies, I prefer to see his full on armour. He looked glorious in TDW.

His AoU look was cool. I prefer that the metalic parts were actually bronze rather than silver.
