So i've read through the SciFiNow issue and there are no new images but there are a few new details. Here are some of them...

- Thor has long hair for 20 to 30% of the movie.
- About 75 to 80% of the material in the film is based on content from the comics.
- At least 4 planets will be visited in the movie. Muspelheim, Asgard, Earth and Sakaar.
- It took 4 moths to build the set for Sakaar.
- There’s a lot of action in the movie. “Intense action scenes.”
- “The Grandmaster is an enormously fun, larger-than-life character who is charming and mysterious and dangerous.”
- “Valkyrie experienced something terrible and she has been running away from it. She’s a victim of post-traumatic stress…”
- “Hela represents a darker time on Asgard. She is a horrible, dangerous creature who is incredibly charismatic and very fun to watch.”

Sounds awesome! Wonder what will take place on Earth. I kind of thought they might skip it this time.

Actually, nevermind. I just remembered they come to Earth to find Odin and that is when they meet up with Doctor Strange.

Thor and Loki looking for Odin. Thor meeting Doctor Strange and Hela confronting the brothers in a alleyway. They spend very little time on Earth.

Yeah, I remembered after posting it. I just had a temporary memory loss. Lol.

Thanks,

Awesome, thanks for posting that HD. I imagine Valkyrie's post-traumatic stress is related to whatever Hela did to defeat her and the other Valkyries in the past. Maybe she was the only survivor, seeing all your friends die infront of you would certainly leave you emotionally scarred to put it lightly. Seeing her finally return to Asgard and face up to her demons (especially Hela) sounds like a great character arc for Valkyrie.

That's a pretty interesting speculation regarding the reason for her post traumatic stress. I could definitely see it fitting within the context of the movie.

Cool with me lol.

We see Hulk getting angry again though just before he is knocked out. It annoys me even more. Hulk looking shamed and the reverting back to Banner would have been a much better ending to that fight.

Agree with both of you regarding Ragnorak though, I can see something else stopping the fight. But in story terms of Thor won it might be better, as he may he has somewhat redeemed himself after his defeat and banishment by Hela.

He starts to get angry but is punched out so I don't see it as his power having had much time to grow from that state. The issue with him reverting to Banner in that situation could potentially clash with him not turning into Banner at the end of the film where he chooses to go away.

Thor doesn't have to get his redemption at that point as that will come with defeating Hela later in the film. In the story this battle is probably more about making them both look powerful so both look strong going into the final battle.

But really we'll just have to see how it plays out. I'm trying to stay away from going into the fayboy mode of "this is how things should be" before I've even seen what they are doing. That never helps the experience, just like with high expectations.

Here's a schedule i have made with some of the most important dates for next month regarding the premieres, screenings, sneak peaks...

October 6th - Sneak Peak (Disney California Adventure park)
October 10/11th - World Premiere in LA
October 13th - Australian Premiere.
October 15th - Sidney special event screening.
October 22nd/23rd - “UK premiere” - not confirmed

Feel free to correct me if i am wrong about any particular date and if you know more important dates that would be great too so we could add on to what's already there... :cwink:

Thor Ragnarok still bringing the hammer down in terms of social media buzz.

About the final trailer for Thor Ragnarok. I'm starting to doubt my own predictions that the last trailer is indeed going to be released this week or even if a 3rd trailer is going to be released at all. I had gone through and checked the marketing campaign for both Doctor Strange and Thor Ragnarok because both had similar release dates and the truth is that both the Teaser and Official Trailers for both movies did indeed follow the same trajectory.

So... what makes me doubt now that there is going to be another trailer? Well i always thought there had been a 3rd Doctor Strange Trailer because it was all over Youtube and it was named that way but apparently Marvel's own youtube channel called it a "Doctor Strange TV Spot" not Doctor Strange Trailer 3 like other channels did.

So there was no Doctor Strange Trailer 3. There was a Doctor Strange TV Spot. And there has already been a Thor Ragnarok TV Spot too. The only differences between these 2 TV Spots was the length and that the DS one was longer and was released much later on... 20 days later. While the TR one could have been made purposely for that sports event in early September and they could still release something else. I don't know.

I don't think they necessarily need to release a third trailer, Ragnarok seems to be doing well enough on social media without it tbh, but I do hope we get something else. Even one more TV spot with little snippets of unseen footage would be enough to tide me over the next four weeks I think. How many trailers do MCU films usually get?

2 or 3. It depends and it changes from movie to movie. Doctor Strange got 2 trailers and GOTG2 got 3 trailers if I am not mistaken. I would also like to have at least a new decent sized Tv Spot with more new footage to keep me going.

There's also the rumor that an Infinity War trailer will come out this week. Not that the rumor is particularly trustworthy but it's still out there.

If GotG 2 got three trailers, there's hope that Ragnarok will also get a third. Fingers crossed. But like I say, it's not the end of the world if we don't get one, we'll start getting more promotion and cast interviews soon running up to and around the premiere(s) anyway, as well as featurettes that may have small glimpses of new footage, e.t.c.

I'm not buying that rumour, there seems to be no credible source behind it and it makes a lot more sense for the first IW teaser to be released in about 2-3 weeks time, about a week or so from Ragnarok's first release date so it can be attached to Ragnarok in theatres. We'll see.

A new IW trailer or that one we saw before in decent quality?

I would assume that they make a new trailer when they release the first official one. They will be less bound by what was finished enough at the time as more footage will be done by now. A big reason why early Comic Con trailers aren't made official is that the footage isn't finished enough to be shown to everyone, but it's of course safer to show it to a bunch of die hard fans.

But as said the rumor doesn't really have anything to it that makes it credible so I wouldn't get my hopes up, just see it as a bonus if it happens.

Yeah, sounds sensible.

A new IW trailer would be pretty much the thing I most want to see. I don't mind waiting for it though, as long as it blows my brains out.

Yes, given the reaction people had to the Comic Con footage I'm glad that I haven't watched it and still have that first experience with IW ahead of me. Not sure when the best timing for it is in terms of Rangarok marketing though.
