Yes, given the reaction people had to the Comic Con footage I'm glad that I haven't watched it and still have that first experience with IW ahead of me. Not sure when the best timing for it is in terms of Rangarok marketing though.

I can wait. Maybe with TLJ would be good.

I'm not as excited for Infinity War as most people, we all know what's gonna happen.

Thanos will come, beat everyone up and the film will end with everything seeming hopeless.

Ant Man and the Wasp is the main thing that makes me think otherwise, since it's between those 3 and 4. Unless it takes place at the same time as 3, which is entirely possible.

Damn, thanks for the update. I'll wait till I can watch it for free now.

BigThor dropping the hammer.

I'm more excited for Infinity War Part 2 really.

Me too. Back to back movies don't have a great track record, typically. The exceptions being Lord of the Rings and Kill Bill.

Though I'm sure this will have enough for me to see even if it is a more setup-ish movie.

I'll be excited to see Thor, Hulk and all those other guys together on the same side (eventually). There hasn't really been anything like that before in cinema.

I'm not saying you're wrong for anticipating whatever you like, but you can boil down every film to something like that. Pretty much all superhero films end with the hero beating the villain but that hardly explains what these films are. It's the individual journey that's the interesting part.

It's the prospect of after many, many years actually seeing it all in live-action on-screen, as opposed to illustrations on the printed page, which pulls me in. Of course we all know pretty much how it's going to go down - doesn't make it any less monumental.

Not the same thing at all, heroes beat the villains at the END of the movie and most of the time they have help. A good percentage of the time they aren't even the ones who actually defeat the villains so no it's not the same.

For the majority of Infinity War Thanos will be beating up everyone, not just at the very end the MAJORITY of the film will be that. Not the same at all

Personally the novelty factor of "Omgz all these superheroes in the same movie" has worn off after the Avengers films and Captain America: Civil War. It's time for a newer trick than adding more and more superheroes each time, it's not as fresh and It feel it kind of lessesn the individuality of the heroes.

You misunderstood the point. The point was that you can make a simplistic description that sounds boring, like the one you made about IW, about every film.

And to talk about IW in particular, I think a good part of the film will deal with the heroes getting back together and fighting the children of Thanos, rather than Thanos himself.

As for the other post about new tricks, it's pretty old to make a third film with Thor but I couldn't care less that it's already been done. That fact on it's own doesn't lower my hype at all. That being said, IW does have a new trick as it's the first MCU film where there's a super villain team.

I honestly keep forgetting about Thanos' children, with that in mind I just became a bit more excited for IW.

Also Thor Ragnarok has more new tricks than any Marvel Sequel so far. First female villain, a main character make over both aesthetically and personality wise, and a super powered black female.

Ragnarok seems fresh and awesome, I was just saying that on the most superficial level it can also be described in less than stellar fashion. It's frankly slightly odd how excited I am to see the new Thor, despite that he's probably the furthest from the comics this far in terms of behavior. I guess it just shows that nailing the core is what's important and if you do other changes can work much better.

If I was guaranteed to be winning £200m tomorrow I'd still find it exciting even though I knew exactly what was going to happen. If the alternative was entering a lottery where you could win anything from £1 to £14 with a chance of a £25 jackpot it could be more exciting in some ways but I'd still go with the former. ;)

I had a dream last night that Sif was Thanos' daughter

That applies to anything, nobody likes a draw in boxing or MMA either.

Sports and written scripts are different beasts for the most part. Most people that know me; family, friends and people I work with; know I am a big comic book fan, Hulk in particular. Of all of them that watched the comic book movies, none ever mention the winners or the fights in general other than they enjoyed them.

My comic shop is another story altogether.

Still don't care for it

I'm saying all of Marvel Studios hero Vs hero fights are inconclusive, that's getting old. What's the point in having characters continually fight if there's never any winner.

There isn't much point in having the heroes fight full stop in these films IMO. It's quite a big thing when a hero that has his own franchise and fanbase takes a defeat to a similar level character. Would you be cool with Thor outright losing to Hulk then? There's so little material in the CBM world unlike comics (where most characters have met multiple times) that any incident like that would be a long term marker if it happened.

Dr Strange on speed dial.

There is apparently a rumor that...

Matt Damon has a cameo as an actor who plays Loki in a play about the first Thor movie.

Sorry if this isn't allowed, I'm not entirely sure. Just a cameo rumor, nothing plotty.

Most people seem to think he lost to the Hulk in The Avengers, so I've already been there and done that.

Well that wasn't a fight, it was one guy trying to keep another under control. If Thor had been going for it full pelt and using all his available powers and Hulk left Thor unconscious on the floor could you be ok with that? :woot:
