Thor: Ragnarok The Official News and Speculation Thread - Part 10

I found a mute clip on Twitter/Facebook from "Cinecolor Films" apparently the official distributor of Disney films in Colombia, Chile, Peru and Venezuela. It looks like it is some sort of shortened version of a TV Spot with new footage from the arena that i haven't seen before playing right into a scene we have seen briefly before in the trailers.

You can see it better in the Facebook link. Apparently Thor get's thrown back by the Hulk which makes him go backwards while trying to keep his balance he trips and then he falls with Hulk jumping from where he pushed Thor and landing on him and then pounding Thor hard with both fists while he is on de ground.

Scroll down on their facebook page there is a HD version of the clip.

Looks like a cartoon character. Not necessarily the cgi. The cgi is fine, I think. But the way Thor is moving backwards just looks like a cartoon character and goofy.

Looks like the scene has been sped up in that clip.

The evolution of Thor!

Lol, and there we have it - the wig and dye job in the first movie. :hehe:

Thanks for that

All the criticisms of TDW noted but one thing TDW did at least give us [in my mind] was that Chris' hair and makeup [and Thor aesthetic in general] was on point for the first time, cinematically. Whenever I re-watch the first Thor, the Bee-Gees style hair and makeup (terrible eyebrow and beard dye job and appalling over use of face-powder) make by cringe at times.

Oh wow, I'm just the opposite. I think his hair and beard was the best in Thor 1, and it's progressively gotten worse until Thor: Ragnarok.

I doubt we'll get a trailer, bit late for that. From now on it will be TV spots and clips (more than likely the same ones) on chat shows when the actors do their press rounds.

Yeah seems too late now but the ones we got totally did the job. I've rarely been so happy with a film's trailers.

The Grandmaster himself, Jeff Goldblum, is scheduled to be on The Graham Norton Show on October 20th so that should be fun!

Idris Elba is a guest this Friday but I doubt much will be said about Thor as he is there to promote another film with Kate Winslet.

But he might not have known how fragile a 'mortal' Thor was... so I hold my position. (I don't think he was actually dead anyway, just 'mostly' dead- it was Mjolnir deciding it was close enough to be worthy that bumped him back. Odin was still snoozing)

I also don't think hitting Thor was entirely a premeditated action. It had the body language of someone lashing out impulsively.

Goldblum and Norton together will be gold.

Do you know what film that is?

Absolutely no problem with that - if we all had the same tastes and views this place would pretty boring.

Anyone know if there have been press screenings yet? And if so, when the embargo is due to lift?

I would like to know that, too.
I think it's time for some spoilers to leak :oldrazz: Just want to know the post-credits scenes.

It's not often that a set of trailers can offer as much enjoyment as a full film, but if I add up the hours I've spent enjoying those, they pulled that off.

Now for the movie! soooooooon now.

Haha, well it's certainly better than some films I've seen after only that small amount of time. :woot:

You know, I was thinking. As much as I really dig Hulk's new faded hair, wouldn't it have been pretty cool to see Hulk with long hair and a beard? That would have looked badass. And would be a fun contrast to Thor's new short hair.

A ton of bloggers have been invited to the Thor Ragnarok world premiere in LA October 9th - 11th where they are going to be attending the red carpet, press junket.. The hashtag to follow is going to be #ThorRagnarokEvent and the event will most likely be broadcasted live from Marvel Entertainment youtube channel like they did with Doctor Strange...

Interestingly enough the premiere for TR is one of the earliest ones ever in the MCU.

Thor: Ragnarok - Premiers 24 days before release.
Captain America: CW - Premiered 24 days...
Avengers - 23 days.
Captain America: WS - 21 days.
Ant-Man - 18 days.
Avengers: AOU - 17 days.
GOTG 2 - 16 days.
Doctor Strange - 14 days.
GOTG - 10 days.
Spiderman: HC - 9 days.
Thor: TDW - 3 days.
...

I mean to me it looks like Marvel is very confident in the movie to premiere it so early on.

It's probably to fit in all the other press, travelling etc. and the fact the movie also has 3 Premieres - LA, Australia and the UK.

I don't know how much it means, but it's definitely a good sign. There's not really anything around this film that doesn't inspire confidence.

I presume it means that the review embargo will lift pretty early seeing as press screenings will start at and around the premiere. The fact that the premiere is so early (two weeks before the film's first release date and over three weeks before the US release date) definitely seems to indicate that Marvel are extremely confident in Ragnarok. All signs are very positive right now. :woot:
