That wouldn't matter in the past since [BLACKOUT]that aspect of Mjolnir was created by Odin during the first Thor.[/BLACKOUT]

That's right. I forgot about that.

Then the real question is
Did she previously wield the hammer at one time?

I had a chance to catch up with the God of Thunder yesterday. He’s the nicest god you’ll ever meet. #ThorRagnarok @MarvelStudios

Maybe Mjolnir originally belonged to Hela, which is why she has the power to destroy it. When Odin banished her, he took Mjolnir from her and then later put a new enchantment on it and gave it to Thor.

I'm beginning to suspect that Hela may actually be Odin's sister, which means that with Odin deposed she is the true heir to the throne of Asgard. "You're in my seat" definitely makes sense then.

Pretty much what I've come up with as well,
although I'm not sure of the relationship of Odin and Hela. Was Odin once married to her?

There does seem to be

Some familial relationship, its just a matter of the exact nuance of it. Otherwise, she wouldn't be on the plaster all Mjolnir bearing...

Oh, Gamma Ra, your add: what if she's Thor's mother and the hammer came to him from her, even though he didn't know it? She's supposed to have 'secrets'

That would be bonkers. :gngl:

Me either. I'm losing it. I am writing fanfiction in my head and can't make it stop.

I've worked myself into a frenzy. I usually do not watch any trailers except teasers and what's shown in theaters before a film. I usually read all interviews and articles after I've seen a film. But this film has me searching endlessly...

And yet, there's that fresco. She doesn't look like she's trying to break it... All those frescos are making me nuts, now they've been pointed out. Laufey's there at 4 o'clock, and it look like Odin is wrestling with a Frigga-like woman at 8 o'clock, I don't know what that thing at 9 o'clock is... What's all that doing on the ceiling, and why does Hela do such aggressive redecorating?

There are some Infinity War Part I spoilers circulating on the net, heavy spoilers that give up major plot points on the movie. It's not sure they're real, but, appareantly, they're from the same source that leaked accurate spoilers of previous marvel films. A couple of said spoilers could really give up the aftermath of events of Thor Ragnarok, so look it up on your on account if you're curious.

Well, people here are usually on point with finding spoilers, both valid and invalid. No one else has mentioned anything about spoilers, so I am going to have to take your claim with a grain of salt.

That would be sooooo stupid

It wouldn't be stupid if done well, it would explain quite a lot. A thing isn't stupid just because it doesn't follow the comics, the MCU has largely never followed the comics anyway.

Some promo/standee art of Thor from Infinity War has surfaced, showing the new suit. Possible spoilers:

Looks like a combo of his outfit here and what he previously had in Age of Ultron.

That image is odd: the Ancient One is in it, for example. Maybe its a photo from Valhalla.

I doubt Ancient One is in the movie. Most of the pictures in the background are just taken from past films, like Hawkeye or that Hulkbuster.

Not sure if you can pick me out in the photo. Decided to arrive early to get a great seat...
