Thor: Ragnarok The Official News and Speculation Thread - - - - Part 13

Let's stop with the "why is Ragnarok the title" complaints. :sly:

Thor: Ragnarok Proves Marvel Is Not Afraid to Learn from Its Mistakes

"Taking the idea of “Ragnarok”—the Norse concept of destroying the world and building it anew—to heart, the third installment in the Thor trilogy actively, and sometimes cheekily, rips apart everything we once knew about Hemsworth’s character."

I do not completly agree with the quote but it is a possible interpretation. :oldrazz:

Oh God. If Kevin finds out we'll never hear the end of his ''involvement'' on his podcasts/videos. :oldrazz:

Hemsworth credits Kevin Smith, whom he once heard bashing the Thor franchise on a podcast, for inspiring him to speak his mind to Feige. “Hearing someone like Smith, who represents the fanboy world, was such a kick in the ass to change gears,” Hemsworth says. “We sort of had nothing to lose. People didn’t expect what we did with it this time around.”

Yay! I finally have an opening in my schedule tomorrow, so I am going to go see Thor Ragnarok for the first time. So, excited! Can't wait!

Surfer

Hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us did. :D

That was really interesting. In the end of the day things did change in a big way for the Thor franchise and Kevin Smith was totally on board with the new direction and vibe. His reactions to the Teaser Trailer and then his review to the movie speak volumes of how he really felt watching the movie. He loved it. And in a way he contributed for Thor Ragnarok ending up the way it did. Chris Hemsworth took notes and it made him take that step forward and explain how he really felt to Marvel.

After reading those articles above it's especially the one about the trilogy it's interesting to see how we spent time arguing about how Mjolnir should look, and the capes, and armor, to now accepting this version of Thor as is.

As much as I loved Thor: Ragnarok (and I did ALOT), a couple of nits to pick:

-Short Haired Thor takes me out of the movie from time to time because I don't see "Thor" anymore, I see Chris Hemsworth. I doubt we get the flowing mane back (mostly cause Hemworth hates it), but they have to replace it with AT LEAST the helmet.

-While it made sense for him to lose Mjolnir in context of the movie, I can't wait for him to get it back because Thor with no long hair AND no hammer is just Chris Hemsworth walking around.

Well from some pics for IW/A4
they have Thor in his Avenger 1 outfit long hair and all. Whether it is a flashback or the time stone doing something else we forsure get long hair and mjolnir back at some point.
