Thor: Ragnarok The Official News and Speculation Thread - - - - Part 13

I just got back from seeing it for the second time, and I have to say I enjoyed it a lot more. The first time around I found the amount of jokes to be a bit off-putting, but since I knew what to expect this time I think I was able to sit back and relax and just go along for the ride. I actually picked up on a few jokes that I missed (or didn't get) the first time.
Yeh a lot of people enjoyed it even better the second time around. Which is great and it tells a lot of how the movie will be looked upon in the future as well. :yay:

I saw the movie opening weekend, and OMG Valkyrie SLAY! Her opening scene was epic, and the soundtrack was just incredible. She just shot up to my #1 fave female superhero in the MCU. She has a tragic background, but it doesn't define her. She's not dark and brooding. She's a lot of fun. I loved her friendship with Hulk.

Agreed on all accounts. The introduction of a new strong female hero was really well done. I thought she was great overall. The only thing i felt coul have been better was her accent but that is just a minor nitpick and something she can work on for the upcoming movies.

I wonder if the Dvd comes out soon. Will there be an extended cut??:O

I think it would be smart for Marvel to drop a nice juicy clip of the movie before Thanksgiving so it reignites the interest of the masses to go and watch it either for the first time or once again. I think a clip from the Muspelheim scene would be a very good choice, since it's freaking awesome, with the action, the music, the visuals... and it's very early on in the movie so it kinda is just a very good aperitif for everything that follows.

They could even skip most of the dialog with Surtur so it wouldn't spoil the story and just start the clip when Thor is about to call mjolnir. Having that go all the way until the dragon chase scene and cut it there right before the Bifrost is opened.
It would be a really cool action scene that wouldn't spoil much but would really pump you up to go and see it again or have you curious to watch it for the first time.

She was great! I don't usually come out of movies wanting to seeing spinoffs of side characters (usually side-characters are written as side characters for a reason). This is one case where I'd actually like to see a Valkyrie spinoff, she seemed like she's had an interesting past, and she has a strong personality to support it. I'd like to see a prequel about one of her past adventures on Sakaar after she fell as a Valkyrie.

It will definitely go down as a classic to some degree. I wouldn't have said this after my first viewing, but seeing it a second time made me realize just how re-watchable Ragnarok is.

Exactly. It's just a movie that has a soul to it, like you said it's super rewatchable, the action, the music, the visuals, the humor, the great characters, their interaction and also that absolutely incredible cast... It's very strong in so many departments.

Taika took the best Thor comedic moments where he was always great and he expanded on that making Thor so much stronger and charismatic as a character. Hopefully the Russos can keep Thor on that Taika line but i guess i won't be easy. Then again Taika most likely already had his own input on how the character changed and how he behaves...

I saw that one. It's funny that Thor is the "well-adjusted" one now.

:funny:

I've been hanging out on the JL pages. I've missed you. I wondered what kind of mischief you've been up to so I came back to check out the Thor pages and now I know. :cwink:

I'm working an early shift today and am going to go see a movie. I can't decide on rewatching TR or going to see Murder on the Orient Express. I saw Thor on the XD Cinemark screen and now it's playing in the smaller theaters so I wonder if that would bother me.
