Thor Ragnarok takes place four years after Thor Dark World. So Thor takes place in 2011, Thor 2 takes place in 2013, and Thor 3 takes place in 2017. Banner has been constantly Hulk since Age of Ultron in 2015.

So Thor, seemingly makes a joke about losing to Hulk, Hulk fights Fenris, and Hulk fights Surtur.

I really was hoping Thor would have beaten Hulk, but it seems like it won't play that way.

I think it's just trailer shenanigans. If Thor lost he'd probably be dead, given that we've heard that Korg says that all who fights the champion die.

I wouldn't say he lost the last time either. He didn't have the upper hand when it was interrupted, but he had more offense overall.

I agree. But Thor saying "I did, easily" and "it happened" sounds like sarcasm about him losing.

Atleast he has lightning powers.

I knew that Mark Mothersbaugh doing the score would lend itself really well to the whole 80's aesthetic, I just love it.

There are a few scenarios that could fit, and we also don't know if all scenes in the trailer will be in the movie. What we know for sure is that the footage from their fight wasn't from the end, as the final shot of the first trailer should be later in the fight since they've lost their weapons at that point.
