Tim Roth is Emil Blonsky/Abomination in The Incredible Hulk!

Nobody's being a prick, it's just that bringing in another Emil Blonsky would be as stupid as introducing another Bruce Banner. As for your idea, it's all good except the Leader bringing him back to life. I would say for that the best explanation would be for the Abomination's slow healing factor to have kicked in and he's alive but no one actually knows it so the Leader acquires his body and then the rest of your idea kicks in which involves fish/reptilian DNA to make him more like classic Abomination but I think they should still retain elements of the redesign.

You had completely misunderstood what I had said.

I always meant the same character, no body new just the same guy. And I don't think Abomination's healing factor should kick in because Hulk snaps his neck, if Abomination heals from that then isn't he immortal? It would be better if Leader does something to bring him back to life and then tell him that with being injected with a new serum (reptile/fish) he would be stronger and have revenge on the Hulk. His appearance will then mutate and he could have the ears, toes, and a bit scaly skin and he could have more prodding bones and keep the exoskeleton.

And with Roth's interview. Something tells me that Abomination isn't going to talk. It was Zak Penn's script that had Abomination talking but then with Norton's rewrites it was removed.

Another cool thing they could do in a sequel is that General Ross finds out that Blonsky was infact a Russian spy who had put on an accent and stuff. They shouldn't make a big deal about it just maybe Ross is reading up on Blonsky after what he had become and finds out that he was spying on the US Army the entire time!

As good as that idea is, I don't see it happening but I would love it if it did happen, even though I'm cool with the design we have now.

it kinda sucks, Abomination is my favorite Hulk villain, so I was excited when I found out they were using him, but nothing about Blonsky remotly resembles the comic book

he's a huge gamma powered beast and thats what he's always been. tell me, would you all benn this angry if stan lee himself created the monster and then changed his look 40 yrs later?
i know all about the trying to follow comics routes but some things really and truley dont transfer well onto the big screen, i'd rather re-imagine it into somthing more believable and easier to explain.

i end my rant. :whatever:

nothing about him is remotly similar, and i'm not even talking about his appearence, the character itself is totally different. Blonsky has nothing to identify himself with his comic book counterpart other than his name. Dr. Doom was a better translation then this, which is pretty sad

anybody have a scan of the comic book version of Blonsky?

more believeable?... have you actually seen the new version?... you do know that this a movie about a guy that gets angry and turns into a ginat green man right?... Emil is much more easier to bring to the big screen than Hulk/ Banner is.
Think about, wouldnt other governments want to know about Hulk?... wouldnt they send people to get info on him?...

and how the hell is this more unbelieveable than what we got?

and no, dont give me that crap about him looking like a lizard and it wont make sense, 5 mins of dialogue would clear that up.

Since they're using the Super Soldier Serum to explain things, they could have had exposure to gamma radiation give Blonsky a wicked thermal burn and pattern it in the traditional Gil Kane look of the Abomination.

Say they would've had an overdose of Serum be the only reason for the Hulk. Blonsky would already be large in that case. Add on a thermal burn, and you've got most of the elements of the Abomination: missing hair, leathery skin, blisters...the works. That would've a) given a real-world explanation and b) referenced the comic book Abomination.

With an origin like that, it may not make sense if the Hulk's green. But I'd rather have a Gray Hulk that people still recognize and an Abomination that tips off the comic fans. I've heard some non-fans wonder who the "other Hulk" is, but what bothers me is when Hulk fans look at me surprised when I tell them that "über-human" is this movie's Abomination. To lose recognition this early on in a reboot is not a good choice.

New interview with Roth. The main points:

*He did the movie to please his sons (which he said before).
*He and a bodybuilder friend were fans of the TV show as teenagers.
*Abomination's transformation is still gradual, with make-up.
*Norton did rewrites every day.
*He stopped watching the Ang Lee film, as he didn't want to compare himself to it.
*He's unsure of whether the Abomination talks: he spoke in early drafts, but they might have removed that in the final cut.
Thanks for the post.

I was shocked you posted that info w/o the spoiler tag.

So, in light of the new trailer, anything to discuss about The Abomination? Now that we have some dialog from Blonsky.

It is annoying that they removed the two main physical traits that are integral to the comic book Abomination. The movie version would be so much better if they just gave him pointed ears.

I agree, the movie Abomination looks pretty cool but I would MUCH prefer a closer look to his comic roots.

I'm with you there, I still don't think of the movies take as the abomination.

Tim Roth's done a great job as Blonsky from what I've seen. The only thing that annoys me is post-injection Blonsky. They could've done something...anything...to show how he's changed. If Captain America can have a huge physique, there's no reason why Blonsky couldn't (especially after more doses).

It would appear that his spine is, for lack of a better term, growing out of him. But I agree, a more muscular Blonsky would have been better.

I keep hearing about the Super Soldier Serum when this movie is mentioned. Will Bruce and Emil be effected by the gamma radiation or the serum?

This new trailer really reveals how much Roth will add as Blonsky. Can't wait!

I've noticed what might be a continuity error from the new trailer: Blonsky has a tattoo on his right arm (This is confirmed by the shot of Ross approaching him with his name badge and medal tabs all in the right place on his uniform)....But...Abomination has the tattoo on his left arm. Now I figured at first this was just a flipped shot, but this is not the case as the writing on one of the storefronts behind Abomination confirms this is indeed his left.

Not a big deal to me if this is an error, just thought I'd mention it in case anyone knows of an explanation for it.
