I've made no secret of the fact that I've wanted a larger brow all along.

The new version looks a little better, but I'd like to see it larger still.

With that said, I respect the fact that Tim Story has made it a little larger and addressed the issue directly and explained that he doesn't think it would look right as large as some of us would like it.

I don't agree with his opinion on the particular subject, but I respect the fact that he has looked at it and evaluated it and come to a decision that he believes in and will stand by.

I really think that he is making an error here but like Willie said it was a judgement call on his part.

I think it was bad judgement but I can still respect the fact that he clearly evaluated it rather than just blow the criticisms off.

However we got him to make it bigger. If we keep whining on the brow maybe they will relent and finish the transformation for the final movie.

Now that would be exactly as it was in the comics, as time went on the Thing changed into what we see today, big brow and all.

^ No it'd not just be Tim's opinion. You have studio execs from Fox and Marvel producers including Avi Arad there, and Kevin Feige. By the way there opinion matters much more than yours or mine considering there putting up their money to make this film happen and taking ALL the risks.

Extremely exaggerated features bode well on paper...not so much in live action.

Of course you're starting a reasonable argument.

We have no idea how many different vendors and costumes they tested and looked at before coming to the design from the first film and now the second. How something looks on paper and in a live action film is 100% different.

Someone take a picture of Chilkis in the suit, miniap it, and put a big brow on it, like in the comics. Post it, then everyone could see how uterly rediculous it would look. That would put an end to it. His brow was fine in the 1st, a bit better for this one.

Good point. You don't even notice, because Chilkis is soooooooooo good as The Thing. He's dead on. Think everyone will step up to the plate in this one. Ioan, and Jessica, seemed a bit loss at times in the 1st one. Now that they have been thru it one, they seem to be more comfortable in their roles.

Get over it Capt. He's not getting a big brow, nor does he need one, which suits me fine. Everybody says, original, original. The bit of a brow he has is the original. FF # 1 he had none at all.

Sounds like someone needs a time out. t: I don't apoligize for the 1st films short commings. I still enjoyed it. I gave it a 10/10, dispite its short commings, and I was 100 % behind giving Story and company another chance, when most were calling for Story's head on a silver platter. I think that vote of confidence will be rewarded this time out. As far as the comic franchise, it has worked for 5 decades. Nothing to apoligze for.

If you don't like the film or the movie is there a reason you keep hanging around here. It's funny cause you couldn't wait to post the negative info on our boards here from your "girls dolls" forum. In fact you posted there about wanting to post it here but suggested it might bring a bunch of unwanted people there...yet you did it anyways. I love people who focus on the negative. It's ok to not like a movie or even hate it but why on Earth would you continue to keep this place the focus of your internet experience each day? To me I liked it so I post here. I hated Elektra and Daredevil and if there were forums I wouldn't be there. I hated Man-Thing you won't see me start a man-thing thread questioning why people liked it. LOL Carpy gave it a 10/10 because he's a huge FF fan. He knows just getting the franchise on the big screen was a challenge enough and he is so overwhelmed with joy that it came out that's all that mattered. He enjoyed it and gave it 10/10. So what.

i know they probably tested something closer to the comic and decided they didn't like it, but i think it had more to do with them wanting chiklis to come through the make up more. it's pretty apparent with the new thing costume that they are getting closer to the comic design and everyone seems to like it much more, and it looks MUCH better on screen. i can see the different on paper argument having merit in things like costumes, like the whole batman rubber v. spandex debate, but with the thing, they can't really get past the point that he's just a big orang rock monster, so i can't really see a more monsterish looking big orange rock monster being hard to accept on screen.

If they made the brow too big, they then would need some weird explanation behind it...

This way, it's subtle and 90% of the general audience probably won't be able to tell the difference between the films...I think it would be a huge "WTF?" moment from some of the movie fans if they had Thing have a 4" thick brow around his forehead..

I would like to reiterate a couple of the points you made.
First and foremost I am a fan of the FANTASTIC FOUR. I love the characters, not Tim, not the "movies", not the comics, and not the executives.
I love the FF and my instinct is therefore to fight for them and protect their integrity as much as possible.
I come to this forum to express my feelings and my thoughts both positive and negative.
Last I checked that's what a "forum" is supposed to be.

contrary to AD's perception, which apparently isn't very good, I do not only post negative comments. I've posted many positive comments when it is appropriate to do so. I LOVE what they've done with the SS for example.
However, I do not close my eyes/intellect as to the truth of something simply because I "love" it. If a writer or an executive or a director misrepresents these characters I will recognize it and not support it.
If the comics aren't well written or the movies poorly done I will not pretend otherwise.

I am also not such a conformist that I will close my eyes and not see what is in front of me, simply because someone in authority tells me otherwise.
giving something a 10/10 knowing that it's not a 10/10 is IMO a form of delusion. A disconnection with reality and truth. Lying to oneself and/or being stupid. I am not willing to do any of those things.

I want these movies, and these characters to be the best they can be, and if someone screws that up, they will hear from me, and certainly not get my money.

It's time we stopped being the laughing stock of Hollywood, and letting them take advantage of our love for these characters.
