TMOS Review & Speculation Thread (Spoilers)

Tell me they're not going to merge this universe with Nolan's trilogy. This small bit of information is just another clue, in my eyes.

There haven't been any drawn out credit sequences for Marvel films lately either. Just the way of the genre these days.

I have a question, what's the deal with the giant Kryptonian that mo cap man played? Is he engineered to go beastly or something?

Is it possible that
there's no end credits scene only in the pre-screenings? Maybe they're saving that for when it's released to the public.
Would be a smart move considering the fact that everyone would have known about it by now.

I know. Small bit of sarcasm. It's just that Nolan's films with WB have started out a specific way. I figured because it was a Zack Snyder film, he'd put his own spin on the credits.

Honestly, I'm surprise they didn't go a step further and just show the SHIELD after the production company logos. Then, you could definitely say that they're trying to line it up with Nolan's trilogy.

Reading J. Howlett's signature, I'm remembering how powerful TDK's score was. Reading it in Gary's voice and hearing the music playing in my head. I hope MOS has that same feel to it. Huge roll in TDK's success. From the opening scene to the very end. Brilliant.

Yet. I get chocked up every time with Oldman's voice over, coupled with the images of the IMAX montage mixed to Zimmer's score.

The ending of the Dark Knight is probably my absolute favorite ending of all time. And that's saying something considering how hardcore I am with the Star Wars six film saga.

whatever....I'm a grown ass man. I don't watch that stuff

The only profanity I can recall is Lois asking someone if they're done comparing "dick sizes".

And I AM a student of Superman lore, and I detected no Brainiac reference so it must have been very subtle indeed.

Guys, I know some people find it crude....but that is totally something Lois Lane would say.

If ABC or CW had allowed either Teri Hatcher or Erica Durance to use the word "dick" on television....one of them would have said it. It's totally in-character.

Lois's signature phrase on Smallville was "son of a *****."

Lax man... We all have a child somewhere inside us or we wouldn't be posting on a Superhero forum now would we?

To those that have seen the movie.

What is this I hear about the Black Superman Suit? Can you please give detail of if and when Superman wears this?

Thanks.

@OZY-

Is
[BLACKOUT]Superman in the movie??? :oldrazz:[/BLACKOUT]

and
How many times is he actually called Superman and by who?

Shockingly, Superman is in in the movie! :woot:

He's only referred to as Superman once from what I remember. A military commander asks for an update on what's going on in the final battle, and a soldier calls him Superman.

Something along the lines of:

"Superman?"

"Yes, sir that's what they're calling him."

This was done for Captain America, which I also attended an early screening for. It didn't have the Avengers trailer at the end.

about Zod

someone said he kills thousands of people. when/how does he do that?? does he wipe out a location or something?? what is Superman's reaction to that?

After Superman surrenders to Zod, he passes out on the ship trying to adjust to the Kryptonian air. That's why Lois has to wear a breather, or she'll die. Anyways, after he passes out, Clark has a dream discussion with Zod.

They're using Kryptonian technology to invade Clark's mind, and at the end he begins to sink into a field of skulls, symbolizing the death of all humans so that Krypton may live again on Earth. He's wearing a black suit as he sinks in.

Yes...that's Nam-Ek

Oh yeah I knew it was him just wondered if he was engineered that way.

So not sure if you've said a few posts back but how would you rate this out if 10? And how do you rate it amongst your favourite CBMs?

the art-book mentioned Nam-Ek was engineered that way.

Zod launches several ships across Earth and one called the World Engine. I'm not kidding you, he literally says: "Release the World Engine!" I turned to my friend and said "Release the Kraken!" after hearing it.

The World Engine starts a chain with the other ships and begins turning Earth's land and atmosphere to be more like Krypton's. Each ship utilizes a massive gravitational pull to lift objects off the ground and then slams them back down. And I'm talking about lifting skyscrapers and flattening huge areas. Without a doubt, thousands die easily.

You know how at the end of every Nolan Batman movie the title pops up right after the last scene? Same thing for Man of Steel.

One last thing that I'm curious about:

All the Smallville stuff seems to be done via flashback. What about Krytpon? I've heard it opens on Krypton but is the whole Krypton story told in one go or are there several flash backs?
